Merman/Mermaid/Siren AU

S t o r y  A t m o s p h e r e:
Fluff, lotsa fluff, angst, and a LOT of heartbreak

P l o t:
CH1 meets CH2 by the sea one day. CH2 is a siren/merperson who has an enchanting singing voice- literally. Their voice can enchant any person, to lead them to their death, and nothing can be done to break the enchantment; except if the merperson actually tells them it's an enchantment. However, telling a human would slowly kill the siren, since a human knowing of their existence is forbidden.

Sirens can kill the person if they enchant them to walk into the ocean, since sirens serve as slaves for the ocean's hunger.

CH2 is a siren who really doesn't like killing people, but loves singing. One day, they were singing by the shore one time, since they thought they were alone.

Alas, CH1 was by the shore taking some pictures and stuff when they heard the voice. The enchantment immediately took place, and CH1 tried to find where the source came from. When they found where CH2 was hiding, CH2 immediately panicked and knocked them out cold.

However, they knew they couldn't just dive back into the ocean and pretend this never happened.

At first, CH2 asked the ocean for help. The ocean disagreed and said they wanted the human, but CH2 rebelled against her. CH2 couldn't let the ocean take the human's life.

CH2 shifted their tail into legs,(sirens can do that; ITS ACCURATE I DID MY RESEARCH-) and brought the human far away from the ocean, to a park or something. When CH1 woke up, It was then that CH2 decided to talk, trying to distract CH1 as much as possible. With every word CH2 spoke, CH1 just became more and more attracted. Soon enough, CH2 had to stay on land to keep CH2 from coming near the ocean, by telling them lies that they were a music student who liked singing, basically anything to keep their siren self hidden.

The more time CH1 spent with CH2, the more CH1 fell in love. And the bad part was, CH2 was begging to fall for them too, especially with how adorable they were in trying to impress them.

However, CH2 didn't have the heart to tell CH1 that they weren't really in love. They were just enchanted. And CH2 didn't want to die, since they would slowly begin to deteriorate if they ever told CH1 anything. But CH2 was starting to think.

Maybe dying would be better than letting somebody believe they're in love.
