Mikumo Shimura, Origins
A sharp pain pulls him to what he thinks is reality, taking stock of his surroundings he senses that something is amiss. The man in front of him, the man that had struck him was a stranger yet looked slightly familiar like that of Inko. On the bottom of his chin is a similar beauty mark that Inko, he and his reflection shared, his eyes and facial structure reminded him of Inko. "I thought I told you that you weren't allowed to play Hero Tenko. There are no heroes, especially in this house." The man says before smacking him across the face again, this time however the pain was dull and just made his cheek feel numb. Though the name he was called wasn't his, the body wasn't his and neither were these memories. These were that of Tomura's but why was he here? Why was he seeing this?
"Kotaro." A woman's voice shouts filled with anger for what the man in front of him had done. "He is a child, barely even five. He doesn't know any better and you are abusing him for wanting to dream." Looking past the angry man before him and down the hallway he sees a woman that reminds him of Ochako. Her long brown hair parted to frame her face, soft caring eyes that were arched in anger. That sense of familiarity was back again, he felt as if she knew him all his life.
"He disobeyed me. There is no such thing as heroes. Just pretenders in costume only in it for themselves. There will be no heroes in this house! No playing, no discussion, Nothing!" He roars, shouting at the woman behind him and the other child cowering in fear behind her leg. The young girl couldn't be older than 5 herself, her twin tails sat at the sides of her head and fell to the center of her back.
He couldn't move his body but could only watch as he was dragged out of the house and thrown into the shed. The light of the house that felt like safety and comfort felt like it was miles away. The cold dank and dark shed was isolating, his only comfort was the corgi by his side. His soft fur, happy smile and warmth the feelings that washed through the memory were bitter sweet. Time didn't seem to make sense here though, one moment he and the corgi were inside the shed, when he blinked he was outside on a warm summer's day. His arm was grabbed by the wrist and he was being led to a tree house by the same girl that he saw the night before. Her light blue sundress glowed as the light hit it and a new feeling came over him. This was happiness, like the girl in front of him was the only one he cared for. He heard a voice come from his lips but it wasn't his own, it was that of Tenko's. "Where are we going Hana?" He hears himself say, finally naming the girl, his sister, as she finally comes to a stop.
"I snuck into Dad's study." She announces causing a sense of fear to wash through the memory. The pure terror that comes with angering an abusive parent and a terror that Tenko knew all too well. However instead of reprimanding his sister his curiosity takes over, why did she sneak into Kotaro's study? "I found a picture in Dad's desk, this lady is our grandmother." She says showing him a photograph. The picture shows their father, about their age missing a couple teeth as well as a young girl the same age, both children are hugging an older woman with a soft smile, long black hair and silver eyes. The daughter has a similar hair color but with a dark green hue to the shade.
"Whose the little girl?" He asks.
"Our Aunt, on the back it says her name. There's Dad's and grandma's names too. Her name is Nana Shimura and our auntie is Inko Shimura." Hana says innocently though both kids don't know what to do with this information. "Come Tenko let's go pl- Help me."
"What?!" Izuku thinks about hearing the memory call for help. He stares at her in horror as the image flickers for a moment, revealing her as a tortured soul that looks to be decaying into the aether. Half of her body and parts of her face were gray and everything below the knees was gone, flecks of dust breaking off and vanishing into the aether as blood dripped from the decaying wounds to the cracked ground beneath them. When he blinked again it was all back to normal. "What did you say?" He manages to ask through Tenko's voice.
"I said let's pl- Help us Mikumo!" She cries, her face flickering between the expression of tortuous pain and back to the happy child she once was. "Come on, we're gonna go in the fo- There isn't much time Mikumo. Help us before he forgets us."
When he blinked he was back in the home again, the words that Hana had told him still echoing through his mind. How could he help her, he didn't even know where he himself was. Now in this moment, he felt the body rubbing his right eye looking up at Tenko's mother as she gently rubbed ointment onto the skin around his eyes. His skin writhed with an itchy sensation but he didn't know what the cause was. The ointment did nothing to help soothe the painful sensation across his body though and things were about to get much worse. From down the hall the door explodes open revealing Kotaro staring down at him with vitriol in his eyes. The itching sensation was drowned out by overwhelming fear at that moment. "How dare you go into my study." He roared marching down the hallway towards him, Tenko's body was paralyzed in fear but his mother, Nao stood in front of him trying to protect the child.
"Enough Kotaro!" Nao declares, clutching her child behind her. "You so much as lay a hand on him we're getting a Divorce. You hear me?!" She shouts but this only enrages him further, he back hands her across the face then grabs Tenko by the hair before dragging him outside.
From there the memory again changes this time he's alone in the backyard against the fence. Tenko's face ached with the pain of being struck by his father again though the memory came in flashes as if the vessel that was Tenko is beginning to die. All Izuku saw were flashes of the events that took place, he saw when the dog was turned to dust, when he tried to stop Hana from telling their father and when she died as well, When Nao rushed to his aid when he was panicking and when she disintegrated at his touch leaving the young child ever longing for the touch of his mother. Then finally when he was beaten for a final time by Kotaro and when Tenko finally snapped attacking the monster that raised him. When Kotaro turns to dust beneath his fingers the annoying itch finally stops. The maddening laughter was all that filled the air after he killed his abuser and with the dust of his family falling on his skin it dyes his hair grey with their ashes.
As the dust falls it collects on his eyes forcing him to rub and scratch at them more and as he brings his hand to his eye the blood from his former family stains his eyes. Dying his iris the same red that stains his hands. As the hand parts from his eyes the memory is gone now only replaced with a dark precipice world similar to that of One for All. It was completely black but the human eye was designed to pick up light sources no matter how far away. In front of him there lies a distant light inviting him towards it. It isn't the light that leads to the afterlife, this one was a dim gray but it was a light nonetheless. Deciding to walk forwards, Izuku notices that the body that he is in was one he hadn't been in for many years. He was in the body of his child self though it didn't distract him for long as he found himself walking towards the distant gray light in this dark void. Much like when Tomura was within Izuku's mind and soul, Izuku himself spent what felt like months or even years pursuing the small light.
An eternity felt like it had passed during his time here, but the light was beginning to grow bigger and as he got closer he found company. By his side, the pitter patter of a dogs paws manifested by him, looking down he saw the same corgi following him as he got closer and closer to the light. Continuing to walk he felt a hand grasp his wrist, the hand being that of Hana's leading him along. The hands of Tenko's grandparents grab at his biceps pushing him forwards from behind. Nao's on his shoulders and neck continuing to push forwards. Then Nana's own against the back of his head to push him forwards, not letting him turn back. As the light comes to solidify, Izuku finds himself approaching Tenko as the young boy crouches huddled in fear of this eternal void, unable to see, unable to hear and unable to touch. But as he closes the distance the last spirit manifests and tries to halt his progress. Kotaro appears in front of the boy holding his hand out in front of him but as Izuku progresses further the hand finds itself over his face trying to hold him back.
"You mustn't continue. He's too far gone. He is a monster." Kotaro's spirit pleads, trying to dissuade Izuku from continuing. "The cursed child needs to be put down; there is only redemption in death."
"Everyone deserves a second chance. Tenko never even got a first one." Izuku says firmly, the voice coming from his mouth echoing with all of the holders of One for All and the members of Tenko's family except Kotaro. The apparition in front of him then grins evilly before the flesh on his face burns away revealing the face of his father, Zencho Shigaraki, All for One holding Izuku back.
"If you truly believe that, then why did you kill Kokonoe Sandatsu? Just because he held a fraction of our power being only Nine out of Infinitum?" All for One asks removing his hand from Izuku's face before walking behind the soul of Shigaraki.
"He gave me no other choice. Time and time again I tried to get him to give up and surrender but he refused. Hurt my Ochako, hurt my friends and hurt those who I was trying to protect. So he had to die." Izuku responds by continuing forwards towards All for One. "And what about you? Why do all of this? You tried giving yourself a second chance, what brought you out of the darkness, into the light only to plummet back into that abyss?"
"Power." All for One responds with a wide grin on his face. "It is what all men covet, but we have the means to gather it ourselves. As much as we want from the pathetic insignificant pests you call people. Since you're so focused on second chances, then allow me to bestow one to you. My son."
"I am here to give Tenko a second chance. You already burned away yours long ago. You've had several chances to be a better man, some people may need fourth and fifth chances to change but each and every opportunity for a chance you had you turned away from that path." Izuku responds as he finally closes the distance between him, Tenko and All for One.
"But this is yours. Join me and together we will rule. Together we will have power and together we will be unstoppable." Izuku ignores this request from his father, raising a hand and flicking his wrist dismissively the apparition in front of him evaporates into the void leaving one last statement. "I had hoped to rule the world with you, but alas this won't be. Perhaps in the next life you'll join me but heed my warning my son. Should the day come where we face each other on the battlefield, despite the face I take. You'll have no mercy from me."
"And you from me neither." Izuku responds, bringing his hand down gently to Tenko's head. As he touches the soul of the tortured, the boy looks up directly at Izuku, his bright blue eyes full of hope and full of innocence. "You've waited far too long for a hero to save you, Tenko, but I am here and I will free you of what my father has done to you. To both of us."
In the real world.
Getting to the emergency exit under the evac tunnels, Vlad, Ochako and Eri quickly try to get the door to the bunker beneath the dormitory. Eri had long since passed out due to overusing her quirk but the effects of the typhoon she had manifested still continue to linger overhead. Vlad sets Izuku's unconscious form to the side in order to undo the locks to the door before turning the circular valve type handle that disengages the steel beams beneath it holding the bunker closed. A metallic thud echoes through the hallway before Vlad pulls the door towards him and opens. As he turns back around the dim hallway is illuminated in a bright white light. Seeing the new light source behind her, Ochako turns around being greeted by the sight of Izuku in the same state he was in when he defeated Nine. His bright white hair putting off light into the dark hallway, his sclera as black as night but this time his irises are present, they're no longer the same crimson color that would appear when he used All for One in the past. Now his fluorescent green glowed brightly in his eyes. With a single nod to Ochako and a look to Vlad, he turns and walks through a smokey portal created through one of his quirks immediately heading to fight.
