Another quick author's note. I have two things to talk about. First I want to thank Manimatsu for reviewing this book in her review book on her side account. And secondly after this chapter there will only be one more chapter then the epilogue. I just want to thank everyone for reading and voting and commenting and I hope you all have enjoyed reading this as much as I have writing it.

Adam's POV
"It's right this way Adam," Cinder said to me.

I said nothing and continued to follow her and her "disciples" as she called them, Emerald and Mercury.

Cinder Fall was a young woman who had recently hired me to help her and an associate of hers with a "revolution" as she called it. Ok maybe hiring me is a strong term. It was more like she burned half my camp, killed some of my men and bribed me with cases of lien and dust. Regardless she had gotten me on her side and she was taking me to meet this mysterious partner of hers.

We were at the outskirts of the city of Vale and and Cinder was taking me into a warehouse. However I felt very confused when I saw Roman standing there looking over a map of Vale.

"Roman?" I asked, "what are you doing here?"

"Oh hey Adam," Roman said, turning around to look at me, "it's good to see you."

"That's not what I asked. I asked what you were doing here."

"Isn't it obvious?" Roman asked, "Cinder's my partner."

Cinder cleared her throat and looked annoyed.

Roman rolled his eyes, "my apologies," he said sarcastically, "I work for her. Same as you."

"Wait I thought I worked for you," I said.

"You did," he said, "but after you let Little-Miss-You-Know-Who get away Salem decided that you needed someone scarier to work under  to make sure you don't screw up again."

I watched as a short girl with tricolored hair that I didn't recognize come out of the shadows and wrap her arms around Roman's waist. Behind me Cinder formed a fireball in her hand, "welcome to the team."
