Breaking Curfew
I stared blankly out the window of Frank's Pizzeria watching the cars go past and zoning in and out of Alice, Lilac, and Tristan's conversation and added my input here and there. I felt my hand being gently pushed open and glanced down to seeing Tristan's fingers trying to interlock with mine. A small smile crept up on my face. I could feel the butterflies fluttering in my stomach as I teased him by loosening up my fingers so he can get through then squeezing my palm close before he actually can. He finally manged to get his fingers past before I closed my palm and interlocked his fingers with mine, lightly stroking the back of my hand with his thumb. I looked down at our intertwined hands and I could feel the tingling in my skin in every place his finger touch as he started to play with my fingers and giving my hand a little squeeze.
I realized that no matter how much I want Daniel, I don't want to give up Tristan. I still feel myself falling for his smile every now and then. Also, I couldn't deny how my heart skipped a beat when he kissed me at school. What girl's heart wouldn't skip if Tristan did as much as looked at them. He was like a girl's secret guilty pleasure.
I tensed up as I felt the leather tip of Alice's boot connect with my shin. A sharp agonizing pain shot up my leg causing me to let out a painful yelp.I looked up at her and shot her a death glare as my shin continued to throb.
"Glad to finally have your attention," Alice remarked with a shrug.
"You could have found a less painful way to get my attention."
"Nope! Not at all, babes," Alice teased with a wink. I shook my head with a small smile as she continued on ", Anyways, aren't you guys excited for homecoming."
"I totally am, but I'm totally not excited of being asked to the dance by Macho" Lilac said with disappointment. Edwin "Macho" Jamerson was the definition of a typical stereotype dumb jock. He got the name "Macho" cause of his very impressive tackles that could knock the wind out of just about anyone. Everyone thinks that his hard tackle not only knocks the wind out of his opponents but also knocked more than a few brain cells out of his head. He's smart when it comes to anything sports related and can name facts about them off the top of his head, but when it comes to hitting the book and anything that has a plus, minus, multiplication, division, or equal sign that kid turns dumber than rocks.
"How did you find out he was going to ask you? Did he already ask?" Tristan question obviously knowing something we didn't.
"Woah Macho asked you to homecoming," I asked lost.
"Yea well not yet, but he's going to, and to address your question Tristan, I have my resources," Lilac said mischievously.
"Sneaky girl, I give you props. So why aren't you excited for getting asked to the dance," Tristan questioned again.
"I'm excited to get asked. Just not by Macho. I don't want to sound stuck up or anything but a cow probably has more brain cells then he ever will and I have very high standards for myself. Plus, he's a total man whore. He only goes after one thing and that one thing is sticking his manhood up anything with boobs, butt, and a hole. Who knows what that boy has."
We all stared at Lilac in disbelief. She just insulted one of the most richest and popular boys in our school badly. No one and I mean no one ever said anything remotely that bad about him. Even new boy Tristan caught on that he was not one to be talked about. Lilac was never one to be scared of anybody, but still seeing her talk about him like he wouldn't ruin her life was completely shocking.
A burst of laughter exploded out of Alice and a moment later she was holding her stomach with tears threatening to spill out. "Lil, you have no chill what so ever. Where is your chill button at?" Alice continued laughing and soon enough we all joined in making jokes about Lilac.
"I heard you diss and confront alot of people Lil, but this has got to top all of those." I said after we all calmed down.
"I'm just stating the obvious. Everything I said was all true." Lilac replied with a shrug.
"Come on Lilac, he's not that bad. Trust me, once you get to know him hes actually really cool." Tristan put out.
"I guess, I'll think about giving him a chance." Lilac rolled her eyes and wolf down the last of her 3rd slice of cheese pizza. We stayed there until the street lights came on joking, laughing, talking and eating. Once we couldn't fit anymore in our stomachs, we began on our walk back home. Alice and Lilac sang very off key verisons of songs from their favorite band's, Piercing Veil, new album while me and Tristan walked behind them hold hands and laughing at their terrible singing and dancing. Tristan gave my hand the occasional squeeze which made me look up him and he would surprise me with a sweet gentle peck and with every peck I forgot more and more about Daniel. We stopped in front of Lilac's house and sat on her porch for a little bit before her parents came out and told us it was getting late. Alice, Tristan, and me said bye and wished them a good night before walking home in a comfortable silence.
"I'll catch you guys tomorrow. Tell mama I said hi, Scar. Good night," Alice said when we got infront my house before hurrying over to her own house next door. Tristan and I watched Alice open her door and waved good bye to her before she disappeared inside.
"So, I guess this is where we say goodnight to each other." Tristan stated sadly.
"We don't have to," I blurted out quickly,"I mean we could always take a walk around the block."
"Are you sure? I'm all down for it, but it's getting late and don't you have a curfew," Tristan teased as he pulled out his phone and unlocked it to see the time. I saw 10:26 flash across the top of the screen. He was right it was late and I did have a curfew that was in 4 minutes, but I wasn't about to miss an opportunity to be alone with Tristan.
"Curfews are for lames. Who cares." I grabbed his hand and pulled him down the street walking backwards while he laughed.
He twirled me around and wrapped his arms around me pulling me closer until my back was fully pressed against him. He nipped at my neck before gently biting my earlobe. "It seems I caught myself a bad one."
I rested my head on his shoulder and craned my neck to look up at him with seductive eyes. "It seems like you have." I reached up and cupped his cheek pulling his face closer to mine until out lips were only centimeters apart. I brushed my lip against him which made him chuckle. He moved one of his hands from my waist to my cheek and gently touched my lips with his own as to ask if I was sure. I smiled and kissed him deeply. He moved his lips to catch up with me intensifying the kiss.
A image of Daniel and me kissing at my locker flashed in my head but I pushed it to the back of my mind while kissing Tristan harder. Forget about Daniel. Tristan's all mine.
Daniel who?

I tip toed in the house minutes to 12 praying to the fairies that my mother wasn't waiting up for me. I gently pushed the door shut and waited a moment sure the no hidden footsteps was approaching in the darkness. I let out a sigh of relief and began to tip toe past the living room, but of course my foot didn't even make it to the stairs before I could see the living room lamp light up behind me. Shit. "Where were you," my mother's voice called out from behind me. So cliché mom. I slowly turned on my heels not knowing what to say since she probably already read my mind and knew the answer.
"Uhm with Tristan, we went for a walk to the park." I muttered quietly with my head down. Her light footsteps brought her closer to me and her arms wrapped around me catching me off guard, since I was expecting a lecture. Her arms squeezed me tighter as if I would slip from her any second. I hugged her back sensing something was wrong and I could hear a sigh of relief escape from her lips into my hair. "Mom, is everything alright," I asked into her neck.
She pulled away slightly ran her fingers in my hair the way she did when I was younger to help me calm down when something was wrong. Her eyes examined me worriedly and her hair fell into her face as she shook her head no. "No, but go get some rest. We'll talk in the morning." Her hand fell from my hair to her side and she trudged up the stair. The slow slight creak of her door closing sent an unpleasant shiver down my spine. I wondered to myself what must've happened that would make my mother act so weird and worried.
I finally got my feet to move and crept quietly up to me bedroom. The darkness suddenly feeling sinister and cold. I dared to move blindly forward towards my bed, but my eyes were being deceived by the darkness as I looked at eerie shadows in the corners. The scariest thing about being a witch is knowing that monsters and the rest of the supernatural do exist. The good and bad ones. The soft cotton fabric of my blanket comforted me as I quickly wiggled out of my clothes until I was just in a tank top and underwear. I crawled under my blanket and pulled it over my head like I did when I was little and shut my eyes trying to force myself to sleep. My mind would not stop thinking of every bad thing that could've happened that my mother would inform me on tomorrow. I tried to get my self mentally ready before praying to the fairies for a good night's rest.
