Chapter 5
Jace
Jace gets off the bus at the next bus stop. He takes a few seconds to collect his thoughts.
Jace pulls out his phone and pulls up a map of the town, Crestwood Oaks. He scans the map for some time and decides to head north of the town where a lot of mini shops and some local businesses are located to get job applications.
After he has finished north of Crestwood Oaks, he make his way south of the town and searches for any available job openings.
Jace spends several hours going in and out of places in search of a new job.
He ends up exploring new parts of town that he has never been to. He finds many unique and cute shops that he wonders how he never noticed them before now.
Jace gets home by 5:00 p.m. and is very exhausted.
Jace makes his way to the kitchen and pre-heats the oven. Pizza tonight since I'm too tired to make anything else.
Jace plays a game on his phone while he waits for the oven to beep, signaling the oven is done pre-heating. A few minutes later the oven beeps.
Jace puts in the pizza and sets a timer. Then, he makes his way to the living room and sits down on the couch.
Jace makes himself useful and picks up the stack of papers on the coffee table. In total, Jace was able to find twenty different job openings today that interests him.
Jace flips through each paper going over the information about each job opening. Jace picks the top three job openings he is most interested in and starts filling out the applications.
By the time he is done, his dinner is done. Jace retrieves the pizza from the oven, cuts himself a few slices, and brings it back to his spot on the couch.
After dinner is finished, Jace cleans up and gets ready for bed. He heads up the stairs and enters his bedroom.
He is exhausted from today's events and so tired he doesn't bother changing his clothes before getting into bed.
Jace tucks himself into his warm and cozy bed and falls asleep into the night.
----------------------------------------------
The next morning Jace wakes up to the blinding sunshine streaming through the windows of his bedroom. Jace rubs his eyes and picks up his phone that is placed on the nightstand next to his bed.
He turns it on and checks the time. 9 a.m. Looks like I should get up. Maybe I can head into town today and turn in the applications I filled out.
Jace gets up and heads into the bathroom to take a shower. He turns of the shower and puts it on hot water. He uses his hand to feel the water until it is just the right temperature.
Jace proceeds to take off his clothes. He puts them in the hamper and then steps into the shower.
Jace embraces the hot water and lets it wet his hair, causing his hair to fall into his eyes. Jace stands there under the water, with his eyes closed, deep in thought.
Yesterday was... different. I lost my job, found a new place to eat, got hit on by the most handsome man I have ever seen, and found twenty job openings that are suitable for me to apply to.
I hope today is different... a new different. Not anything like yesterday, but something good for once. Don't I at least deserve that?
Jace snaps out of his thoughts once he hears the doorbell go off. Jace finishes up cleaning himself and gets out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his waist.
Jace grabs another towel and dries his hair. He heads to his room and randomly picks out some clothes and puts them on. He then jogs to the door and answers it.
"Hello?" Jace asks opening the door.

Derek
Derek stands at the bus stop heartbroken and panicking.
What am I supposed to do now!?
Just as Derek is coming up with several ways to fix the situation he is in, Drayton and Logan walk up to him and pat him on the back.
"I'm sorry Derek," Drayton says with a empathetic look plastered on his face. "I know it hurts, but you'll get through this."
"Yeah," Derek huffs. "How? How do you know?" Derek says, his words coming out in an octave higher than he meant. Derek is on the verge of crying.
"I know so. I went through a rough time, just like you are going through now. And now look at my life. I have a great job and am engaged to the love of my life." Drayton takes a deep breath before continuing. "I'm not saying to give up, but I'm telling you that for right now, you need to move on."
Teardrops finally flow down Derek's cheeks as he takes in Drayton's words.
"But I don't want to be alone. I just want to be happy and get married and have kids of my own." Derek starts crying as Logan pulls him into a hug. Drayton joins in the hug and comforts Derek.
"One day you'll have that. I promise you," Drayton encourages Derek.
The three men head to the car they all arrived in and head back to work.
-------------------------------------------------
By the time night arrives, Derek has finished up all of his paperwork and completed the tasks on his agenda for the day. He packs up his bag and heads home for the night.
Once Derek reaches home, he parks his car in the garage and turns it off. He drives a black Lexus.
He also owns a black Bugatti and a silver Porsche, which are also stored in his garage.
Derek lives in a luxurious two-story house with an underground basement.
Overall, the luxurious house has six bedrooms, two guest bedrooms, four baths, and one half bath.
The main floor contains: one master bedroom with one half bath, another bedroom, two bathrooms, a foyer, a dining room, a casual dining room, a kitchen, a great room that has a fire place, two covered porches with the skylight option, a mud room, a study, and a garage.
The second floor consists of: four bedrooms, two guest rooms, a bathroom, a lounge area, a game room, an empty room, and an outdoor covered porch.
The empty room is for his future husband. When Derek first moved in, he decided to keep the room empty so his future husband later could change it to however he likes and transform it into his own personal space.
The basement consist of: a bathroom, an exercise/gym room, a recreational room, a storage area, a bar, a theater room, and an indoor pool area.
The attic is where most of the storage is kept, but it is very grand. So, Derek had turned it into a huge library/reading lounge when he first moved in.
He loves to read all day and everyday. It is his own personal place where he loves to chill out and relax, by diving himself into the mini worlds that he discovers from the pages of the books he reads.
Derek's luxurious home is just a little over three thousand square feet.
It has a few covered porches spread around the house and deck that leads to the backyard. The backyard is very grand and it has a large pool to swim in.
Derek sighs as he steps out of his car.
Derek always dreads coming home. It's not that he dislikes the luxurious place. He just doesn't like how big it is for only one person.
Derek bought the house with intentions of starting a family of his own, but he has had no luck. He tends to grow lonely living by himself in the grand place.
Derek unlocks and opens the side door in the garage that leads into the house. He heads straight for his master bedroom and flops onto the bed.
He faces the ceiling and ponders for a while.
I don't care what Drayton said. I will not let this go and move on. I need to find out who that drop-dead gorgeous man is. He's the one and I can't let him get away.
And with those last thoughts, Derek drifts off to sleep.
