Chapter 16 A Mothers Worry
*Chibi A/N and A/N still being catatonic from the mental torture*
Author:... If you two don't get up I'm fixing to make you watch Elsa Gate Videos for a month.
Chibi A/N: *Screams as he suddenly leaped threw the ceiling*
A/N: *Gasp!* SHITFUCK!!! No! No! Don't do that! Please!
Author: Then get off your asses and do your job. I don't pay you to-.
A/N: You don't pay us.
Author: -Allow you to LIVE to sit around and be traumatized. Now get back to work. *Leaves the room*
A/N: Well... At least he's consistent.
Chibi A/N: *Slams down onto the ground hard* *Muffled* I'm okay...
A/N: *Sigh* Back to the story...
We start with a PISSED Boss Lamb as she saw the house she and George live in was currently burning down and the Bodyguard she left to protect her son was currently sitting on a rock with a bullet wound in his leg while being slightly covered in ash.
Boss Lamb: James. What. Happened?
Oh yeah, she was pissed. Sure I said it, but she was looking on the verge of beating the shit out of somebody with brass knuckles. James sighed as he really hopes he's not gonna be on the receiving end of a beatdown.
James: The house was attacked by Ark Tech's Merc's... They were here for you son. But someone else nabbed him in the commotion. I'm sorry, I should of-.
*Slap!*
Boss Lamb slapped him before he could finish. Not hard enough to knock him down. While Boss Lamb was Furious her son was gone, she wasn't going to blame him for her mistake. So why did she slap him? Well...
Boss Lamb: I ALREADY FUCKING KNEW THAT!!! I'M WONDERING WHY THE FUCK MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE!?!?!?
James rubbed his cheek as he let out a sigh. This part's probably gonna piss her off, but that anger is gonna be mainly directed at Ark Tech so... Here goes hoping he doesn't get punched.
James: Well that's another little surprise left behind by Ark Tech. Apparently, another team set a fire or something in the basement while I was taking an unwanted nap. I bearly got out alive.
Boss Lamb glared at him for a moment before looking back towards the house. The attack at Smuggling Operation was just a distraction. Ark Tech's real goal was to attempt to kidnap her son.
Boss Lamb(Internal): They want to play like that, huh? Well guess it's time to go loud.
She glanced at one of her personal bodyguards who stood at attention once her gaze met his.
Boss Lamb: Tell the boys to shoot up any storefront, office, and warehouse owned by Ark Tech. Burn them, Bomb them, I don't care what they do. They can do anything so long as their business is thoroughly fucked. Do it in broad daylight, I want these bastards to know fucking with me will be the biggest mistake of their lives. Also, make finding my son a parody. I want him back as soon as possible. Put up a fucking reward if you have to just make sure it's done, got it?
The Personal Bodyguard nodded as he began contacting various hit squads, thugs, crazed gunmen, and lookouts they have in Zootopia. Soon after Boss Lamb's phone started to vibrate.
*Virrrr!* *Virrrr!*
Boss Lamb(Internal): Great... Another problem.
She thought thinking that something else was gonna piss her off today. She didn't even look at the contact info before answering it. Before she could ask who it was she heard a familiar voice.
Kally(Phone): Boss Lamb. We need to have a talk.
The Mob Boss groaned as she pinched the bridge of her... Well, I was gonna say noise, but she has a bit of a snout so I guess she would be-. *Clear's Throat* Not important. The point is, she doesn't have time for this.
Boss Lamb: *Sigh* Look if you want a job as one of my lieutenants.
She said slightly annoyed that a hired gun, even though a very skilled one, was bugging her at a time like this. What Kally was about to say piqued her interest. Mainly because it had to do with Someone she was interested in.
Kally(Phone): Well I just got a hit job from an anonymous source. One on Y/N.
Boss Lamb's expression went from mildly annoyed to plotting to kill a bitch within a fraction of a second. Ain't nobody trying to kill you on her watch, even if you could handle yourself.
Boss Lamb: You even think about it and you'll be chopped up into pieces and served up in a Chinese restaurant.
Hot damn! Her personal guard looked a little concerned as she doesn't often make threats like that. When Boss Lamb threatens someone she usually means it literally. Thankfully no one's getting served up rabbit stew as Kally said something else interesting.
Kally(Phone): Oh I already tried and failed. He let me live so I have to fulfill my other requirement. You see this Anonymous Benefactor's told us if we somehow survived or were spared by our target we would have to contact you. Not for payment, they already did that upfront. But they wanted you to know that "Carthusia sends his regards" that mean anything to you?
...
...
...
Kally(Phone): Uh... Boss Lamb are you there?
Now the personal bodyguards and James were very concerned as they had never seen Boss Lamb have this expression. What was it you ask? Well, it was a mix of Shock... And Fear.
Boss Lamb(Internal): How the fuck is he even Alive!? I saw that bastard die myself! He should be in a goddamn casket in pieces!
She snapped out of her Shocked and Fearful state as she immediately snapped her fingers and pointed to the car. The Personal Bodyguards wasted no time and quickly hopped in and started it up.
Boss Lamb: What's Y/N doing now?
She sternly asked as James hobbled towards the car and got in the back seat. Kally sounded slightly confused on the other end.
Kally(Phone): He was chasing a lead I gave him about a Skinny Rabbit Guy. Why? What's-?
*Boop!*
Boss Lamb hung up the phone before Kally could ask her anything. Soon after she quickly got into the back seat with James and slammed the door shut.
Boss Lamb: Where is Ronnie Rabbit!?
James jumped a bit as her bodyguards seemed a little on edge. They've never seen their boss freak out like this. I mean sure, she made threats and sometimes pointed a gun at their head but she never had an outburst like this.
Bodyguard: U-uh I heard he hangs out at the Underbelly Club down at the docks...
He stated slightly studdering a bit. Boss Lamb wasted no time in ordering them. Very Loudly of course.
Boss Lamb: THEN GET US THERE NOW!!!
The Bodyguard quickly floored it and started heading towards the Underbelly Club. Boss Lamb quickly took out a cigarette which James lit using his lighter.
James: Ma'am, what's going on? What's gotten under your skin?
He asked genuinely confused and concerned as again, he had never seen Boss Lamb freak out over this. Boss Lamb took a long drag before blowing a lot of smoke. She then looked out at the window watching everything zoom past, she recalled a hit job she did in her younger years. She thought everything went smoothly seeing as she used a car bomb to kill her target... Or at least she thought she killed her target. She didn't make a mistake and killed at double, her target must have survived somehow by some damn miracle. I mean that blast took out a nearby building when it was donated, no one just lives through that. But it seems he made his move as now he's back on the grid after being "Dead" for years.
Boss Lamb: A Corpse has come back from the dead...
Meanwhile
You we at the front entrance of the Club. Thankfully(Or in some cases Sadly) it's not a strip club. Though it is a little bare bones at the moment, must be a slow night or something. However before you entered, Fluffy stopped you for a moment.
Fluffy: Hey, buddy. Watch yourself in there. I know you're a badass and all, but somethin' doesn't feel right about this. If things go south don't hesitate to run out and hop in. I'll keep the engine runnin'.
For a cab driver, Fluffy was surprisingly loyal to someone he just met a few houses before. Though you chalk that up to you probably overpaying him a bit for his services. Still, good to know someone was looking out for you even if you are bribing them to help out.
Y/N: Thanks but I'm sure I'll be fine. This won't take long...
You then turned toward the door and opened it. Strange you didn't find a bouncer at the door, but then again business is slow so they might have thought that dipping out for a second wouldn't hurt. Dumb move on their part but who could blame them? This place looked like a dump. Whoever runs this place must have gotten it pretty cheap since this bearly counts as a Club. More like a Bar shodley renovated into a club. The staff and a few patrons are either drunk off their asses or high off of that drug, "Night Howlers". You might be wondering if that meant some of the staff and patrons were acting feral... Well, this place is mainly full of Humans and Anthro's so no. Night Howlers acts like a potent psychoactive drug to Anthro's but more like a stronger version of Weed to Humans. In short, if you heard of Skooma from The Elder Scrolls series then you're on the right track.
Y/N(Internal): What a mess. Place looks on the verge of being condemned.
You mentally thought as you made your way upstairs passing a lazy bouncer that was supposed to be guarding the stairs. Instead, he was taking a nap while leaning on a wall. As you head up the stairs you see a group of lowlifes playing poker. They're not even paying any attention to you as you enter into the manager's office. While still looking a bit run down with the floor and walls being a little ragged, it was far more cleaner and much more organized.
Y/N(Internal): Damn. Did Bellwether run again?
You mentally asked in annoyance as you began searching through everything to see if there were any more Bread Crumbs for you to follow... But that didn't seem necessary as you caught a glimpse of the woman in question herself... And she looked a little different than what you saw in a photo of her online.
Art by Scorpdk(e621)
Bellwether: Didn't your Mother ever teach you not to rummage around a stranger's things?
She asked in a slightly snarky tone... Soon after you pretty much clotheslined that question with a fact about yourself that not a lot of people know.
Y/N: I was an Orphan on the streets when I was a kid... So no, no she didn't tell me that.
Bellwether just stared at you for a moment in bewilderment as she did not know how to react to that. I mean who would?
Bellwether: Ah... I'm just going to avoid that topic... *Clears Throat* I am Dawn Bellwether and I got a proposal.
Oh, here we go... Let's see what type of scheme this secretary-turned-crook has cooked up. You lean back onto the desk a little and cross your arms.
Y/N: And that would be?
You asked wondering if she really thought any of this through. Why would you be wondering this? Well just wait and see. Let's just say when thinking logically, Bellwether fucked up big time here.
Bellwether: I know who you are, Baba Yaga and I know who you're after. So let's make a deal. I have some rivals that need to be disposed of and from what I heard you're just the man to do it. I'll throw in a little bonus if you-.
You stopped her right there. For one you saw through that bullshit about a bonus, this place was being held together by broken promises and drug addicts. On top of that, you're not really in the mood to get further involved in anything else, plus you're out of the game.
Y/N: I quit being an Assassin a long time ago, I'm only here for personal reasons. Besides, even if I did consider it, what made you think I wouldn't consider an alternative route to getting this information?
As you continued talking you noticed someone trying to hide just to the side of the door frame. It wasn't one of Bellwether's goons since she wasn't aware of their presence. No, this guy was listening in on your conversation.
Y/N: For instance, I could just make you tell me the information. You don't exactly look tough enough to withstand any amount of integration. Not to mention even if you have goons they wouldn't be much of a threat since you're scrapping the bottom of the barrel here. I just got done taking down a team of Mercs who had optical camo and some serious hardware as well as a Group of Thugs more coordinated than these drunkards and druggies. Some of them might be too damn nosy for their own business and try to use that information for their own ends.
*Swoosh!* *Thunk!*
Bellwether looked shocked that you had thrown a knife towards a nearby wall. At first, she thought it was an intimidation tactic, but she soon noticed a certain nosy Anthro Bunny and realized that was shaking like a leaf. Mainly because the knife was a few inches away from his head. Bellwether gave this unwanted third party an annoyed glare.
Bellwether: *Sign* Of course it'd be you, Ronnie...
The bunny guy soon slowly slides down looking like his soul was evicted from his body by pure terror. Bellwether soon shut the door behind her, she would have pulled the knife out and given it back to you... If she wasn't half your height. So she supposed she'd have to settle for getting to business for now.
Bellwether: Seeing as you haven't decided on giving me a black and blue makeover yet, you aren't gonna do that. Besides my rivals are associated with the Men you're after. You could probably figure out what your target's defenses and routines are before taking them out. If you help me out I can keep digging for more information about the whereabouts of your Targets.
She paused as she walked passed you and opened a drawer. She pulled out a file and then handed it to you. It was information on your Targets... Four in total, One of them was Orren, the CEO of Ark Tech.
Bellwether: All of these men went into hiding when you first went on a killing spree back in New York. So they know whatever they did can't be negotiated on and so long as you're alive their tickets are punched. Basically, they've locked themselves down pretty tightly and the only way to flush them out is to cut off their cash flow. In a sense, you'll be forcing them out of hiding to see what's going on. I can figure out when and how they'll arrive. But for that to happen I need to widen my sphere of influence and to do that I need to help you. So, we got a deal?
Huh, she's been planning this for a hot minute... Guess having a spot to plan out assassins couldn't hurt either. So why the hell not, she could be useful.
Y/N: You know for a Racist you're pretty thorough. Sure, but tone that back a bit ok?
Bellwether let out an annoyed sigh as That is never going to go away any time soon... Even if she had a reason for it. It's dickish reason but still a reason.
Bellwether: *Sigh* Look, just because I was trying to get Predators to move out of the city so I could corner the Real Estate business doesn't mean I'm Racist! Not like it matters now since everyone knows I'm a White Collar Criminal all because a Vixen Conartist and a Do-gooder Bunny foiled my plans. Now look at me! I've been reduced to a low-life criminal having to scrounge for scraps! *Low Scoff* I'll claw my way back up and while I do some people are gonna pay big time!
She said like a true capitalist with zero regard for who she hurt in her pursuit of more money and power... Yeah if she was much tougher and composed she'd fit right in with the scum of the earth. While it's not your place to judge and she is helping you out... That greed is definitely gonna bite her on the ass again if she doesn't watch it.
Y/N: Some word of advice, don't hold on to personal grudges like that. Sure it seems a little rich coming from me seeing as I'm trying to avenge my Wife, but holding on to something petty like that is only going to do one thing. Get you killed or worse.
Bellwether had a moment of pause when you mentioned that you were avenging your Wife. While she didn't need to know Why you were hunting down and killing people, it would have been super helpful to know what topic to best Avoid.
Bellwether(Internal): Well shit, must have glossed over THAT detail... Oh well, best not to bring it up in the future.
She hopped onto her chair and began searching for something on her computer. Probably your first target. Though you noticed something... Oh shit...
Bellwether: I'll keep that in mind. Now let's see-. GAH!!!
*Shatter!* *Zooooom!* *Thunk!*
Without warning you quickly picked Bellwether up just in time to save her from a bullet to the head. You quickly hid just to the side of the window where the shot came from. You peek out and see some Highly Geared mercs just outside the building storming in. Two of them stood behind and held Fluffy hostage with the rest went in.
Y/N: Someone wants you dead... Or they're trying to take care of loose ends.
Bellwether looked shocked that her life had almost just ended there. While she was dealing with the fact she almost became a statistic, you were wondering why they sent a large force to take care of a relatively easy-to-handle information leak... Which means they know you're here.
Y/N(Internal): Shit... We're pinned here. I don't know where that damn sniper-.
Before you could finish that train of thought you watched as the Sniper that took that shot Slam into Fluffy's Taxi... Without much of a head anymore. But as Fluffy quickly dived down and the two Mercs guarding him turned to look at the body... Something very brutal happened that confused you slightly as it would have been Really fucking hard to do. The two Mercs were suddenly split in half at the waist by a Manhole going at insane speeds after being thrown like a frisbee. As the blood landed on a very confused and terrified Fluffy the Manhole embedded itself into one of the Merc's armored trucks. Thinking quickly you set Bellwether down and look at any live camera feeds.
Y/N(Internal): What the hell is happening? Who's attacking these Mercs?
Those were the main questions running through your mind as you pulled up the live feed of the main floor. You can hear wild gunfire and screams just behind the door to the room and from the feed, all you see is a Black Blur wreaking havoc upon the team at blinding speeds. Mercs and patrons alike were getting slaughtered as you watched whoever or whatever was doing this literally tear someone in half with their bare hands, Twist someone's head off so violently that it flew off a bit, and use one of their buddies as a weapon to turn another into a paste. Soon after the feeds were destroyed within the blink of an eye. Bellwether let out a shocked gasp as there was a knock at the door.
*Knock!* *Knock!*
???: You can come out now. Everybody's dead.
...
...
...
???: Yeah that didn't sound right... Eh, fuck it. I'm coming in!
As you hear the doorknob giggle a little you instinctively pull out your pistol and aim it at the door while Bellwether hid under the desk. Not a minute later you watched as a man wearing all black, from head to toe, entered the room.
I do not own anything in this Image.
Now this is the part where I would talk about the features of his face... But that's kinda impossible given the fact he was not only wearing a Blank Black Mask that covered his entire head, but he was also wearing a full-body skin suit that was, say it with me now, Black. I mean he looked sleek as hell, but damn. Throw some White, red, or some other color in there man... *Clear's throat* Anyways. This guy just casually strolls on in and stretches a little.
???: Well well, look's like I was right. Funny that. *Grunts as he does a big Stretch* So let me run this little question by you real quick before we get to business. If a point-blank Car Bomb that leveled a building didn't kill me, what makes you think a Pistol will?
That... Seemed like an odd question. You had zero idea who the guy was, but then again you weren't in the Game anymore so things could have changed. One thing is clear though, this guy was giving you some bad vibes and then some. Him ripping through a band of Misfits and a Team of Trained Mercs with nothing by his hands is proof enough that something about him is not right here. But something else just rubs you the wrong way here and you can't figure that out.
Y/N: What the hell are you?
You asked still aiming your sidearm at him. While you couldn't see his face due to the mask, you can tell by his body language that having a gun pointed at him does bother him in the slightest.
Carthusia: *Sigh* No one ever asks me, "Who Are You" No it has to be "What are you". Whatever even though you didn't ask I'll give you a name. Carthusia.
He paused as he leaned back onto a wall while taking some sort of Golden Card out of his shirt pocket. He promptly threw it at you though not threateningly as you were expecting. As you caught the card you began to wonder why you were feeling so threatened in the first place. Don't get yourself wrong, you don't trust this guy in the slightest but nothing suggests he meant any harm to you. Not yet at least anyway, so why are you constantly on edge around this guy? It's like a part of your soul does not like this man Period.
Carthusia: Use that for any expenses you encounter in the future. Should get you basically anything you want or need. No questions asked. Now that's done, I'll be heading out now...
Ok, now you're really fucking confused as this man just showed up and Killed everyone but You and Bellwether, Gave you a credit with a fuck tone of funds and just leaves without elaborating. The fuck does he think he is? A Gaga Chad? To top this weird ass scenario off he said this as he left.
Carthusia: Oh and I would trust your gut on this one. You'll see what I mean here in a minute. Anyway, see you around.
He said ominously before walking past all the carnage he just caused as casually as one would walk down a street. Soon he disappeared out of sight and after a brief moment of silence, Bellwether poked her head out to see if it was gone.
Bellwether: What was that all about?
She asked with a Mild Hint of confusion and a little bit of fear. One of which you shared as having someone you don't trust on instinct just hand you a shit ton of money after killing everybody felt weird as hell.
Y/N: I have no idea...
You said with the aforementioned confusion clear in your voice... Then you hear a Car smash into the main part of the building.
*Screeeeeeech!* *Vrooooooom!* *SMASH!!!*
Bellwether: OH COME ON!!! WHAT NOW!?!?!?
Yeah, I'd be annoyed too if someone just smashed through the front of the building you owned... Even if it was a shitty one. You casually walked out passing a still very unconscious Ronnie as you leaned over the bar to see Boss Lamb, James, and some goons with guns drawn.
Boss Lamb: You see a mother fucker in a Black Mask you put a bullet in him. Got it?
All of them nodded as they began clearing out the area. The moment she saw you leaning on the railing above looking at her with an expression that told her she just missed the main event, she let out a sigh as she put her gun away and pulled out her cigarettes.
Boss Lamb: *Sigh* We just missed him didn't we?
She asked while heading up the stairs and pulling a cigarette out of her pack. You toss her your flip lighter which she caught and used to light it.
Y/N: Pretty much. He killed everyone but Me, Bellwether, and Ronnie over there before giving me a credit card. He left just before you got here.
As you spoke Boss Lamb walked over to you and leaned onto the railing next to you. She took a long drag off her cigarette and exhaled all the smoke with a long sigh as she handed you your lighter back. You can tell a lot is on her mind as she doesn't normally take long drags unless something is bothering her.
Y/N: You holding up ok? You seem a little distracted.
Boss Lamb just stared off into space for a moment as she kept thinking about her Son. What good mother wouldn't? Yet it's not like she can just drop everything and go hunting for him. She has territory to defend and a criminal operation to run. If she doesn't then her little boy might find his mother's head on a silver platter and he'll be thrown into a world that'll eat him up and spit him out.
Boss Lamb: I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, Y/N. My little George has been kidnapped and I'm stuck with handling a network of crime. If I slip up once I'll Lose territory and money. But If I don't act soon, I'll lose George from the world I tried to protect him from...
She paused thinking of ways she could have prevented this from occurring. She was so deep in thought she didn't even notice the cigarette start to burn her hand.
Boss Lamb: If I had just posted more men at the house or just had a more secure location then none of this would happen. Instead, I wanted George to live in a nice and fancy house that's fairly close to his school. I thought with how smoothly everything was going no one would dare try anything against me... So stupid...
You grabbed her hand, mainly to prevent any further damage to her hand by snuffing out that cigarette, but to also try your best to comfort her.
Y/N: You'll get your son back, I'll make sure of that.
Boss Lamb looked a little surprised, you sounded a little like a father there. Guess you weren't just avenging one life, huh? She tenderly grabbed your hand as she glanced at you with a slight smile.
Boss Lamb: I'll hold you to that.
*Virrrr!* *Virrrr!*
Soon her smile turned into an annoyed frown as she wondered who's gonna piss her off This time with some bad news. So she pulled out her phone, looked at the contact info to see it was probably a goon reporting since it was just a number, and quickly answered it. All the while Bellwether was angrily yelling at James and Boss Lamb's Personal Bodyguards, who looked like they were tuning her out completely.
Boss Lamb: This better be important.
She said with a hint of annoyance... Then she heard Another familiar voice, though this one she hadn't heard in a very long time. Not because she "Died" or was supposed to be dead, they just choose to wall different paths. That tends to happen when you plan to bomb someone to hell and back.
Queen(Phone): Hey there Lamby! Long time no see, eh?
The Criminal Underboss looked like she was already over Queens shit as she kinda didn't like being called Lamby, I mean it's not like a capital offense to hear while will earn you a swift death by a piece of lead... But it'll still earn you a swift punch and a warning not to do it again. Though Queen has been one of those rare Exceptions to the rule.
Boss Lamb: Queen, you picked a really bad time to call me. The Hell do you want?
She asked in a slightly agitated tone. Queen couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic hearing Boss Lamb's voice like that. Reminded her of the good old days when they and a few other people used to rob banks for fun. But that was before Bank's amped up security so much that it became nearly impossible to rob a joint... Not without some sufficient planning anyway. But recalling the past isn't the way Queen Called.
Queen(Phone): Well I'm going to make your day a bit. Let me put you on speaker.
Boss Lamb looked a little confused for a moment as she wondered if this hand had anything to do with-.
George(Phone): H-hi Mom, are you ok?
The Hardened Criminal's heart skipped a beat when she heard her son on the other end. You looked somewhat shocked too seeing as you thought he was kidnapped. You also took note that they were currently driving as the sound of cars passing by could be heard. They were probably downtown.
Boss Lamb: George!? Where are you!? I'm coming to pick you up!
As she talked she was about to make her way down the stairs. But before she even stepped down, George said something that not only made sense but also laid the situation out a bit.
George(Phone): I-I can't, not while Bad People are after you. They'll just keep trying to use me to get to you. I-I'm safe for now, Queen and her friends are moving me to a safe house that's off the grid. So please don't worry about me, just keep yourself safe. Ok?
You looked pretty surprised to hear a kid say that. Normally when put into these types of situations kids his age tend to freak out, but while he does have a twinge of fear in his voice his words were of concern about his own mother. He's a brave and kind kid, damn shame he had to get caught up in all this Bullshit. Made you clench your hand into a fist a little and your heart ached if you had to be honest.
Boss Lamb: I... *Sigh* Ok... If anything happens you call me right away and hide, alright?
Boss Lamb looked a little defeated and down. A part of her desperately wants to see her son again, but she knows her little boy is right. He always was a smart cookie.
George(Phone): I-I will. Stay Safe, Please...
Soon after this Queen took the phone off of Speaker. You could tell since the sound of passing cars stopped. You started to walk over to Boss Lamb as she sat down on the steps.
Queen(Phone): You got all that?
She asked with a more serious tone as now didn't seem like the time for teasing. You sat down next to Boss Lamb.
Boss Lamb: Yeah I got... You better make sure he's safe because if he gets captured by Ark Tech-.
Before she could finish Queen cut her off. Not with snarky words and a joking tone like Boss Lamb was used to, but words of reassurance.
Queen(Phone): Don't worry. He'll be safe. I promise. I'll be in touch in case something goes wrong.
*Boop!*
Soon after Queen hung up, Boss Lamb chuckled to herself... It wasn't a happy chuckle. It is the type of chuckle one would have when their life has been turned upside down so quickly that one can't help but laugh at it.
Boss Lamb: Queen making promises without compensation? *Sigh* Times really have changed...
She pulled and took out another cigarette from her pack which you silently offered to light soon after. She of course accepted the silent offer as she leaned in and lit her cancer stick up before pulling back and taking a long drag. Soon after she exhaled before taking the opportunity to deliver that info she got on Jack's behave. Even though she could really use that wine right now.
Boss Lamb: The Men you're after have gone underground. That's not all though, they've been squeezing every penny they can get and pouring it into something called "Project Ark". Guess they lose points for lack of originality, but they make up for it in its secrecy. Any scientist or engineer working on that project is never allowed out of the building, Period. If they do quit and try to blow the whistle they have them killed. Apparently, there was a Rino Guy that nearly spilled the beans, but ended up being something's punching bag.
She paused for a moment to take another drag off her cigarette. All while Bellwether was still chewing out James and the unlucky goons that are Boss Lamb's personal bitches- I mean Bodyguards.
Boss Lamb: The men you're after are on a lot of people's shit list so you won't have any trouble finding allies there. The only caveat to that is Ark Tech is a seriously powerful global company. The governments of the world won't do shit to combat Ark Tech's growing Monopoly. In short, they're getting their pockets lined and the scum of the earth doesn't like that one bit. To put it bluntly, they are a pain in everybody's ass since they keep messing things up since they've been pushing local law enforcement into the stone age. There are a few holdouts here or there, but in a few years, any Police Force will be history.
You watched as she took another drag from her cigarette. To say you were hanging on every word would be an understatement as every bit of this info could be useful. She continued shortly after exhaling smoke with a long sigh.
Boss Lamb: I also heard some strange woman had arrived with a Bear Woman along with a Komodo Dragon Gal. No one knows her name or what she looks like, but one thing is clear. While no one from our world knows what she's capable of that she bitch is a monster, I've seen photos of corpses cleanly split in half, Explode from the inside, and just outright turned to a pile of guts. She's not normal. A Normal Person would Sleep, Eat, and Drink. She doesn't do any of that, she just keeps going without any signs of stopping. It's your call if you want to find out what that's all about, but if you can convince her to help you out... Well, let's just say I'd pay to see what'll happen when you two start wrecking shop. That's about all I could dig up. It's not much, but it's something.
As she took another puff off her cigarette, Bellwether was looking at the massive car-sized hole in her establishment with a hint of devastation as this was gonna be hell to fix.
Y/N: Believe it or not, Bellwether already has plans set in motion to draw those men out, all be it with her own personal gain of course. I just gotta chip away at their empire until it all topples. You might want to consider making her a part of your Mob, she won't like being a lackey but I know you'll whip her into shape. Even with all that's going on.
Boss Lamb scoffed as taking someone like Bellwether under her wing would be funny as hell, white collar criminals are good with numbers but terrible with getting their hands dirty. Besides it'll be easy for her to get ensured into their little web at this point, all she would have to do is wave around a little money and she'll practically be at her feet. So fuck it...
Boss Lamb: *Sigh* Why the hell not? It'd be fun watching her flinch when I bring her around to watch a torture session. *Looks to James* Hey James, offer that girl a job! Tell her if she joins up I'll get this place nice and pretty.
James looks at Boss Lamb with a questioning look for a moment, you know cause he currently has a bullet in his leg. This was soon met with a death glare from Boss Lamb. Soon after that James sighed and shrugged as he limped over to Bellwether.
Y/N: You know you could be a little easier on your goons, right?
Boss Lamb scoffed before taking the last puff of her cigarette as she stood back up and started heading down the stairs.
Boss Lamb: *Scoff* I'll take that under advisement. We should probably leave before any Feds show up and start asking questions that'll leave them to some Early Retirement if you catch my drift.
She said after exhaling the smoke that was probably fucking her lungs up pretty good. You let out a sigh as you'd rather avoid that if you can.
Y/N: *Sigh* I think you need to unwind a bit. And I don't mean sucking on some more Cancer Stick's.
After you said that it gave Boss Lamb an Interesting Idea. One that she was all too eager to jump at the chance of. But she's not going to be extremely blunt about it, no she's going to be a bit more subtle.
Boss Lamb: Well I did say we should talk over some wine. It'll be a good chance to catch up. If you're up for that of course.
While you wanted to continue hunting down your targets. You also felt some time to decompress was... Required for both of you. Besides you needed some time to think, about your next move before you ran yourself ragged. I mean you are just one guy, a guy that can kill an entire room of professional thugs and killers, but still a guy. Trust me, you want nothing more than to walk around and slaughter goon after goon just to get to your target so you can put a bullet in them. But unlike New York, your targets are dug in pretty well, and all that would get you is a pretty quick death. So much to your chagrin, you'll have to wait until something cropped up.
Y/N: *Sigh* Alright, need to think about my next move and process a few things anyway. Ever since I got here a lot has been thrown at me.
You stated bluntly, in a sense you weren't wrong. That's not even mentioning the amount of times you've been flirted with either. Made you wonder if your wife was watching over you... In her own way of course.
Boss Lamb: Well then hop in. I'll have one of my bodyguards take the cab outside. The guy who drives it should enjoy the little bonus money he'll get for his silence.
She said while getting in the back of the car. You sighed as you saw a Bodyguard helping Fluffy get the body off his cab which seemed fairly unscathed. It had a slightly larger dent now, but nothing that wouldn't buffer out.
Y/N: He's a good driver. I'm sure they'll get along fine.
Boss Lamb chuckled a little as you seemed to have gotten a little soft over the years. She just wonders if you'll be Soft in bed as well~. But as we watch Boss Lamb's car leave, on the rooftop of the very building that very car smashed into, we see Carthusia watching you.
Carthusia(Internal): That could have gone smoother, but Ark Tech forced my hand on the matter. They arrived here far too quickly and while I'm sure Y/N could have taken them, he would have most likely gotten injured and blooded. I don't need him sitting in a house for a couple of weeks recovering from a gunshot wound, nor do I need him wasting time dealing with financial problems. So killing a few birds with one stone was the best course of action there...
He paused his mental monologue as he looked at the starry night sky and crossed his arms.
Carthusia(Internal): Maybe I should let Midnight handle some of the targets. That should expedite things a bit faster. Plus that'll give me time to give Ark Tech a reason to leave Y/N alone for a little while. He'll be quite useful for provoking the Awakening I just need him to stay in the game as long as possible. That and I need to retrieve my Black Knife back from Ark Tech once it begins. I'll let them hold onto it for now... Now then, I guess I have to hurry up and wait for the time being. Oh well, it can't be helped.
Carthusia then started to walk across the rooftop only to quickly vanish with a gust of wind as he began leaping across buildings at blinding speeds.
Meanwhile
Chibi A/N: Oh fuck... When did Carthusia get here?
A/N: Probably while we were being tortured by our boss.
Chibi A/N: Well shit. So who are we gonna jump to next? It better be Judy.
A/N: It's Judy.
Chibi A/N: *Looks Shocked* Really?... You're gonna introduce some more girls aren't you?
A/N: Yeeeep. One of them has already been mentioned by name.
Chibi A/N: But wh-? *Has a Look of relation* Oh fuck it's her isn't it?
A/N: We'll have to wait and see~. Back to the story!
Judy is currently wondering how the hell all of this happened. She knows what happened, it's just a little crazy. Crazier than having to foil Bellwether's plot to force Predators out of Zootopia and that involved drugs. I mean a Cyborg just tried to kill them only to be fended off by a Scottish Sailor that calmed to be of a different world. Currently said Scottish Sailor is trying to raid Hilda's fridge for booze.
Heckter: Hey Lass, you got anything that'll punish my liver a wee bit?
The Bear Cop looked rather annoyed that Heckter was just ruining her rather organized fridge for a beer. All the while Judy wondered why one of the walls looked like a detective's board.
Hilda: Can you Not fuck up my fridge? I have some cheap Beer in the bottom left drawer. Fair warning it taste like shit.
She answered as Judy looked at the wall a bit more closely. It seems someone was looking for a missing person. This wall seemed a little elaborate so whoever they were looking for must of been doing this for a long time. Judy wondered who this... Draco person was. Before she could examine it further someone stopped her.
???: Please don't touch that. I just finished rebuilding it after reviewing some new evidence.
Judy turned around and saw... Well, an Anthro Komodo Dragon sitting on a chair holding what looks like a wine glass.

The Character's name is Jenny and she is owned by someone called Slither. I do not own the character nor will I be using her. I'm just using her appearance for...
Hilda: How long have you been sitting there Sunset?
Judy looked a little confused as to whether Sunset was her actual name or just a nickname. Either way, the Komodo Dragon Gal named Sunset took a sip of her beverage before answering.
Sunset: Since you got back. I've been piecing together some interesting things that cropped up recently.
Hilda crossed her arms as she seriously hoped this wasn't a goose chase. Sunset was a damn good investigator when she was working on everything else. But she refused to be officially a part of any police force due to this. ZPD could really use her talents right about now.
Hilda: Sunset, I know looking for your long-lost brother is important to you, but this is bordering on obsession. You can't just waste your talents like this.
Sunset glared at her for a moment before sipping her beverage again. Judy was honestly surprised at what the Komodo Gal had pieced together so far in her efforts to find her brother. All of it was Linking to Ark Tech who Apparently kidnapped her Older Brother when she was little. But these are theories, not solid evidence. Before Judy could say anything Sunset dropped a pretty big bombshell.
Sunset: There was a Chase between Ark Tech's Mercs and some crooks in a tunnel. Ark Tech was too slow in covering this one up so the press got some juicy details.
After she said this, she turned on the TV and swapped to the News. Luckily they were still covering the incident as there was a reporter just outside the tunnel, which had been blocked off by Ark Tech.
Reporter(TV): We still haven't gotten any answers as to why this incident occurred or what exactly happened. All we know at the time is that a high-speed firefight broke out between an Ark Tech convoy and some dastardly criminals, we'll have more after the break!
Soon after Sunset cuts the TV off having made her point... Though Judy remarks on how conveniently timed that was.
Judy: Did you Record that or was that just luck?
She asked as she was not exactly sure how someone would even time something like that. However, Hilda answered her question rather Bluntly.
Hilda: She records stuff like this and studies them for Hours at a time. I sometimes see her study them Frame by Frame just to catch every detail on the screen to see if it's relevant or not.
Judy looked somewhat stunned as she had a face that can be summed up in one word, "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh". All while looking at Sunset with a thousand-yard stare.
Sunset: What? It's something I like to do with movies too. I find it entertaining to find little details that I missed on the first viewing.
As she said that Heckter looked at the Can of booze with a confused look as he had no idea how to open it.
Heckter: The Fuckin' hell is this? How do ye even open this?
Hilda sighed as she helped out Heckter by demonstrating how to open a can. I'm sure most of you already know how to do this. If not... H-how? What type of rock you've been living under?... Is it cozy? *Get's slaped* Ah! Ok! I'll get back to the story! Jeez...
*Click* *Ssssssss!* *Pop!*
Hilda: *Sigh* You do that, now please get out of my fridge!
She said annoyed at the Weird Scotch's guys' antics. Heckter not exactly taking that personally shrugged and just started Downing the Booze in a corner of the room. Much to Hilda's annoyance of course seeing as she basically has a bum in the apartment right now.
Hilda: *Groans while shutting the Fridge* Today is just an absolutely shit show...
*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*
The Bear cop's tiny ears perked up a bit after hearing someone knocking at the door. She was fairly skeptical as were Judy and Heckter. This obviously confused Sunset as she didn't know what exactly happened on their way getting here. A tense moment passed before the person behind the door knocked again.
*Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!*
???: Hellooo? Anybody Home?
Hilda breathed a sigh of relief as she recognized that voice. It's her other Roommate, she has a somewhat honeyed tone that sounds a bit motherly. Yet there's enough tomboy confidence in there to tell you she was a woman that wouldn't take someone's shit without giving them a piece of her mind... Or you could just picture her with Jennifer Hale's voice. That's what I'm doing for later in another chapter... When that comes out of course.
Hilda: *Sigh* Yeah, hold on. I'll be there in a second.
As she headed over to the door, Sunset looked over to Judy with a Questioning look. Judy nervously glanced to the side as she kinda didn't want to get into that right now. I mean she's still processing that thwarting a plot to drive out a minority group from the city by using Drugs was the least weird thing that happened in her life... Wow, that's dark now that you think about it... *Clear's Throat* Anyways, Hilda opened the door to reveal an admittedly pretty Anthro Wolf Woman with a guitar case.
Art by Personalami(e621)
This is one of the Artist's OC's, her name is Reina. Fun Fact, she used to be just a Rule 63/Genderbent version of another of their OC's, Einarr. But at some point I guess they decided that she should be their own character and made her Einarr's twin sister. Is this relevant? No not really, but it's info I wanted to share. It goes without saying, I DO NOT own this character. I'm just using her appearance... Speaking of which...
I Don't own these things in the images.
Hilda: Where you followed, Midnight?
She asked while looking out into the hall to see... Well nothing much, the hall was pretty empty and mostly devoid of life.
Midnight: Uh... I don't think so... Why is something wrong?
She asked slightly concerned that her Officer buddy was worried about someone following her back home. Hilda opened the door further to let Midnight in.
Hilda: Get inside, I'll explain everything.
Midnight was thoroughly confused as Sunset wondered what the hell was going on? What was Judy wondering? Well, two things, how they will react about being told a Cyborg just jumped them while driving here... And why Hilda has two friends named after the time of day. Seriously that's one hell of a coincidence! In any case, Midnight entered the apartment and soon after Hilda shut and locked the door.
Midnight: Alright, what's going on?
She asked a bit more seriously and sternly as she sat down on a nearby couch while sitting her guitar case to the side. Sunset leaned in as she started to get curious, Heckter downed another drink not exactly paying attention to what was going on as he didn't exactly care right now. Judy could tell that guy had issues, though she didn't know what it was. I mean she did just meet him a couple of hours ago so that's not much of a surprise. The Bunny cop just wondered what could have caused this guy to go from risking his life to save people to drinking his woes away. Whatever the case maybe, she'll take a mental note of that just in case it becomes a problem down the line.
Hilda: OK so this is going to sound absolutely crazy, but we got attacked by some... I don't know, Robot? On our way here. They looked pretty mechanical.
She then showed her currently splinted finger which Sunset noticed before but didn't bring up. While Midnight was now thoroughly paying attention and I mean she was pretty locked in. Somewhat frighteningly so in Judy's opinion, but then again she does seem to be good friends with Hilda so it's not out of the ordinary for her to be upset about this.
Hilda: Honestly I was lucky to get away with just a broken finger and a lost gun. We only got away due to the crazy jackass in the corner over there. From what I heard it said while we were being attacked, they were after Judy but now they're after me too since I saw our attacker. Basically, something's hunting us.
Midnight glanced over to Heckter who was downing another drink without a care in the world. While Hilda and Sunset didn't see it, Judy noticed she looked a little... Disappointed strangely enough. Like she was seeing an old friend falling off the wagon again. But before she could ask why she had the expression, Sunset soon chimed in as she might have a hunch as to who it was that sent a murder machine after Judy... Much to Hilda's chagrin she actually might be right.
Sunset: I doubt anyone by Ark Tech has the resources to even attempt to make such a thing. It also lines up with their robotics division making breakthroughs in Artificial Workers and Cybernetic Limbs. How much do you want to bet they didn't stop at making more Lethal variants and augmentations?
After what Hilda and Judy experienced that seems like the logical choice. What made Hilda absolutely hate that prospect is the fact they don't have any evidence aside from a few holes in the roof of Judy's car and her Broken finger and that Ark Tech has been successfully hiding the fact they make these seriously dangerous weapons. Midnight also chimed in with a scarily possible thought.
Midnight: I wouldn't be too surprised that the Military and most of the world's Governments are either working with them to get their fancy tech or being strong-armed into doing so.
Judy pondered for a moment as she started piecing together a few details. For one she took note that it's supposed to be illegal to have a monopoly, but Ark Tech seemed to somehow avoid this despite being one. Most likely they're being paid off, being threatened with annihilation which they're probably capable of doing, or worse they have people inside of the governments of the world acting within Ark Tech's interest. But what Hilda said next really shined a light on what Ark Tech could Possibly be up to... Even though it's pretty obvious admittedly.
Hilda: On top of that every Cop who looks into them ends up dead. There was an Honest cop back in New York who was beaten to death in her own home, her husband survived the attack but he suddenly went missing soon after their house was burned down. Then there's the fact Crime suddenly ramped up in New York after Ark Tech arrived a few weeks ago. We got overwhelmed and eventually transferred or fired once the city signed a contract with Ark Tech. After that Crime went down pretty quickly, a bit too quickly now that I think about it...
Yeah, it's not exactly surprising that Ark Tech is trying to quietly rule/take over the world. What they're doing is declawing the entire world through underhanded means while also making themselves look better in the world's eyes. Judy obviously put this together.
Judy: So... Basically Ark Tech is trying to conquer the world, but why? What's the motive here?
That is a good question... Obviously, there is the desire for power and shaping the world how they see fit. But is that really what they want? Is it that simple? Am I asking these questions to make it seem like there's something more to this? Who knows! But Judy can't just jump to conclusions... Last time she did that she was duped into arresting the wrong person and nearly losing a friend.
Sunset: Maybe they're just greedy... Then again Orren does have some interesting views on the world. He thinks or more accurately Said Society as a whole is activity deteriorating and growing more selfish by the day. He used social media sights as a case study of how if left unchecked a person could devolve into something activity harmful to every sentient species. Stuff like spreading lies, making dangerous challenges that are potentially fatal, desensitizing people to violence, and even enabling abusive behavior given the right circumstances. He blames leaving the Net unchecked had steemed the flow of progress and openly stated that more regulations should be put in place on it. It could be a load of shit of course since he's a businessman so take what she says with a grain of salt.
Guy must really hate Twitter- Oh sorry, I mean "X" with the fury of a thousand suns. But that does seem more personal than it should be. I don't think Ark Tech's profit margins are hurting Because of the internet. If anything they're utilizing it to its fullest which just sounds pretty hypocritical if you ask anyone in the room. However just after she finished that, Midnight's phone vibrated in her jacket pocket and she pulled it out seeing she got a message.
Midnight: *Sigh* Shit, I was hoping to chill out for a few hours. Sorry, gotta run, meeting somebody soon.
She sat up and picked up her guitar case. Judy looked very confused as to why she was already leaving again, unlike
Judy: Wait, you're leaving already? You just got here a minute ago.
The Bunny Cop said with the aforementioned confusion clear in her tone. Midnight smirked as Hilda and Sunset were used to this.
Midnight: Don't worry, I'm just meeting someone real quick. I'll be back before you know it.
Soon after she said that she left and shut the door behind her. Judy was still confused as Hilda and Sunset didn't seem to be bothered by it... However Heckter after downing another drink suddenly flinched and swiftly got up! Like something had tapped his shoulder unexpectedly.
Heckter: Bloody Hell! What was that!?
All Three Girls looked at him with raised brows as Hilda wondered if he had too much to drink.
Hilda: Oh boy... Please don't tell me you're a violent drunk.
She said slightly worried she might have to put him in a chokehold. However, Heckter didn't answer as he exited the room and examined the hallway... As if he was looking for a detail that was invisible.
Heckter: Ah, Fuckin' Hell! Shite! Shite! Shite! Of all the times to be gettin' Shite Faced!
Hilda, Judy, and Sunset watched as he quickly bolted down the hall. Hilda looked out to see Heckter bolting down the stairs.
Hilda: The hell was that all about? Hey, where are you going!?
The Bear Gal asked while Judy and Sunset peeked out into the hall with equally confused expressions.
A/N: Alright... I'm gonna call it here. I had wanted to do another segment, but I've delayed this enough.
Chibi A/N: Aw... I wanted Violence!
A/N: I know, I know. But that'll be in the Chapter AFTER the next... I'm sure you know the reason.
Chibi A/N: Oh I know, Boss Lamb is fixing to something with the Reader that's gonna "Relieve" some tension. Also, she has a name now doesn't she?
A/N: That's gonna be resolved in the Lemon Chapter. Though I will make mention of it in the next "Normal" chapter.
Chibi A/N: Cool. Alright, let's do this send-off. I gotta go clean up the murder dungeon here soon. The last guy had enough blood to supply a blood bank for a year.
A/N: Very Well, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and we'll see you next time! Stay Safe out There!
Chibi A/N: *Putting on a jumpsuit and rubber gloves* See ya Later...
