I was walking back to Ruby and Yang's home with Ruby hounding me about the future.

Ruby: Am I a great huntress in the future? Do I fight giant Grimm?

I grab her shoulders.

Y/n: I have two answers for you. One I said I know the future to an extent which is I believe one year and half to two years, secondly I won't exactly tell you big details but I can fill you in on small ones if you ask.

Ruby: So does anything interesting happen for me?

Y/n: I'm sure you do become a great huntress. You do fight big Grimm as well.

Ruby: Thanks. Oh we're back.

We both go in the house and was immediately greeted by Tai.

Tai: Where have you two been?

Ruby: Well you see...

Ruby quickly explains what happened while we were out she even called it a date. Tai is definitely happy that his little girl is going to Beacon much sooner than he thought. He is also happy that we actually hit it off on the first day. Which is quite surprising I thought he was going to beat the ever living crap out of me. But he's happy for us at least. After the whole explanation Ruby quickly went to go pack for Beacon since it starts tomorrow. While Tai pulled me aside.

Tai: I want you to make sure both Yang and Ruby stay out of trouble while you're at Beacon.

Y/n: You got it sir.

Tai: Thanks also there's leftovers in the fridge for you and Ruby.

Y/n: Thanks.

I went upstairs to the guest room with the bag of parts we got and dumped them out on the table with the rest of the parts. I tried to get to work putting it back together but it was a fruitless endeavor to do it one handed.

Y/n: Why am I even trying?

???: To remember your grandfather.

I look to the door to see who was there, which was Ruby she was the only person here I told about my grandfather so I should have known.

Ruby: You uh need help fixing it.

Y/n: Yeah thanks.

She pulls the chair that was beside the bed up to the table and started to fiddle with the parts as I hand her ones that she asks for that are out of her reach.

Timeskip

It took us a good hour and now it is nearly done it just needs the scope to be zeroed in and it would be done. Ruby did fall asleep near the end but the last few parts I was able to put back on. I felt my eyes getting heavy as well. I tried to stay awake a little longer but to no avail I fell asleep leaning up against Ruby.

Timeskip Yang's Pov

I was slightly worried this morning Ruby wasn't in her room and her stuff was still packed for Beacon. I quickly went to the guest room to see if she was with Y/n again. I quickly but quietly open the door to see Ruby at the table with Y/n leaning against each other.

Yang: Come on lovebirds we need to get to the landing platform so we can go to Beacon.

They didn't answer me back.

Yang: You guys there.

Y/n: *low snore*

Yang: (Thought) Oh they're asleep still.

I was about to wake them but then I had a devilish thought.

Mini timeskip Y/n's Pov

I slowly woke up and noticed someone put a blanket and that I had to pee. I took the blanket off of me and  covered Ruby with the rest and I rushed to the bathroom. After i finished my relieved myself in the bathroom I was half way through washing my hands when I looked at the mirror and saw I had writing and art on my face good thing I can read backwards. On my cheek it said good doggy, I had a monocle and a mustache drawn on my face and on my forehead it said Ruby's pet/boyfriend. That pet part put some anger in me just to the point where I yelled the name of the most likely suspect.

Y/n: YAAAAANNG!

Ruby's Pov

I was jolted awake by someone yelling.

???: YAAAAANNG!

When I left the guest room I saw Y/n chasing after Yang which was laughing.

Y/n: I'm gonna make you regret putting pet on my forehead.

Yang notices me and laughs even harder which confused me at first till I went to see if she wrote on my face as well which she did. On one cheek it said cookie monster, on the other it said cookie hole with an arrow pointing to my mouth, and on my forehead it said Y/n's girlfriend. I rushed out of the bathroom.

Ruby: Yang when I catch you I'm cutting off your hair!

I start chasing after her with Y/n as he was slowly gaining on her. He tackled her but before we could do anything to her she played her safety card.

Yang: You could do something to me but then we'll be late for Beacon.

Both our eyes widen we both rush off to our respective rooms and quickly got ready.

Timeskip Y/n's Pov

We barely made it to the bullhead that's heading for Beacon. Ruby and I were lucky that she didn't use a permanent marker for her prank so the markings came off easily. Right now Ruby is getting bear hugged by Yang.

Yang: Oh I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!

Ruby: Please... stop... need air.

Yang releases Ruby from the bear hug of death.

Yang: But I'm so proud of you. Not only did you get into Beacon but you also got a boyfriend that Dad even approves of.

Ruby: Really Sis, it was nothing.

Yang: What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees.

Ruby: I don't want to be the 'bee's knees', okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees.

I chuckle from what she said.

Yang: What's with you? Aren't you excited?

Ruby: Of course I'm excited... I just... (sighing) I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything.

Yang: (going over and giving her sister a one-armed hug) But you are special.

Our attention was brought to the holographic tv news report that had a mugshot of Roman.

Cyril: The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa.

The mugshot changes to Lisa Lavender, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!" followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks.

Lisa: Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted...

The news feed is cut off as a hologram of Glynda replaces it.

Glynda: Hello, and welcome to Beacon!

Yang: Who's that?

I put up my fingers representing a countdown leading up to when she says her name.

Glynda: My name is Glynda Goodwitch.

Yang: Oh.

Glynda: You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world. (disappears)

Ruby: Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here!

A bunch of people went to go look out the side window to view Vale the height we're at.

Ruby: I guess home isn't too far after all!

Yang: Beacon's our home, now. Hey Y/n why don't you come enjoy the view with us.

Y/n: I'm good.

Yang: Oh come on.

Yang started to pull me over to the window.

Ruby: Yang he has a-

When she stopped pulling me the view was nice but then I looked down and instinctively I hug the closest person which was Ruby.

Ruby: -fear of heights.

Yang: Oh I guess the view isn't for everyone.

That said Jaune aka vomit boy ran past us trying to hold down his lunch.

Ruby: It was a nice moment while it lasted. I wonder who were gonna meet. I just hope they're better than vomit boy. Oh Yang, gross you have puke on your shoes.

When I looked down at her there wasn't any on her shoe. I'm guessing this was payback. But I decided to play along. The joke was short lived because after we ran for a few minutes she noticed there wasn't any.

Timeskip to when we land

We walked off the bullhead and stared in awe at the massiveness that's Beacon.

Us: Wow.

Yang: The view from Vale has nothing on this.

Ruby started noticing all the weapons and started gushing over them, while for me I am more analytical with them. Don't get me wrong I love exotic weapons like these but they tell you what their fighting styles are and what type of situation they're best in.

Ruby: Ohmygosh guys. That kid has a collapsible staff! And she's got a fire sword!

She was about wonder off to get a closer look but Yang grabbed her by her cloak.

Y/n: Collapsible staff, close quarters combat, easily concealable, the kid doesn't want to kill since it doesn't have a blade. Best situation for that weapon would be a infiltration like mission to take out a high value target.

I look back over to them to see them staring at me.

Y/n: What?

Yang: What was that?

Y/n: Oh sorry I guess I can overthink when I try to figure out what the fighting style is for someone.

Ruby: Oh do Yang.

Y/n: Another time.

Yang: Well they're just weapons you guys there is no need to gush over them.

Ruby: 'Just weapons'? They're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! Oh, they're so cool!

Yang: Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon? Aren't you happy with it?

Ruby: (transforming her weapon into its scythe form) Of course I'm happy with Crescent Rose! I just really like seeing new ones. It's like meeting new people, but better...

Y/n: So meeting my pistol and rifle were better than meeting me.

Ruby: No no no no.

She tried to come up with something to say to make me forgive her.

Y/n: I'm joking Ruby I know you liked meeting me especially since we're already together.

Ruby punches my shoulder as Yang playfully pulls both our hoods down over our face.

Yang: Ruby, come on, why don't you go try and make some friends of your own?

Ruby: Why do I need friends when I have you guys?

A group of Yang's friends gather around her as she bolts off with them going between us sending both Ruby and I in to a spin.

Yang: Well. Actually my friends are here. Gotta go catch up. 'Kay, c'ya, bye.

Ruby: Wait. Where are you going? Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms? ...Do we have dorms. I don't know what I'm doing...

Y/n: If I don't spinning I may throw up.

We both bump into each other and fall on to Weiss's luggage.

Weiss: What are you doing?!

Sitting up from our fall we see Weiss standing over us with that snody betchy attitude she has at the start.

Ruby: Uh.. sorry.

Weiss: Sorry? Do you have any idea of the damage you could've caused?

I move a suitcase out from behind my back and Weiss snatches it from my hands.

Weiss: Gimme that! This is dust mined and purified from the Schnee Quarry.

Ruby: Uhh...

Weiss: What are you two brain dead? Dust! Fire, water, lightning, energy! Are you even listening to me? Is any of this sinking in? What do you have to say for yourselves?!

She was shaking a fire dust bottle that wasn't sealed properly and the dust was irritating our noses causing us to sneeze and a explosion of fire, lightning, and ice.

Weiss: Unbelievable. This is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about!

Ruby: I'm really really sorry!

Y/n: Maybe if you didn't shake a improperly sealed dust vial we wouldn't cause a explosion.

Weiss: Ugh! You complete dolts! What are you even doing here? (Directed towards Ruby) Aren't you a little young to be attending Beacon? (Directed towards me) You shouldn't even be here with one arm.

I have had enough of her ranting and yelling at us.

Y/n: We said sorry Princess get the heck over it!

Blake: Its Heiress, actually.

We all look over to see Blake as she walks over to us.

Blake: Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world.

Weiss: Finally, some recognition!

Y/n: Oh yeah isn't that's the same company infamous for its controversial labor forces and questionable business partners.

Weiss: What- how dare-! The nerve of-!

Ruby was chuckling her little head of as Weiss stormed off.

Ruby: I promise I'll make this up to you! I guess we're not the only ones having a rough first day, right Y/n.

Y/n: Yeah.

Ruby: So what's-?

She looked over to Blake to see her walking off. She practically fell on to the ground slightly depressed. I put my hand in front of her.

Y/n: I still haven't left you and I never will.

Ruby grabs it and hugs me when she got up.

Ruby: You're the best boyfriend ever.

I got tapped on the shoulder. I look over to see Jaune.

Jaune: Hey... I'm Jaune.

Y/n: Y/n.

Ruby: Ruby.

In the distance I heard someone yell.

???: NORA!!!

Ruby: Aren't you the guy that threw up on the ship?

Timeskip after a long conversation about motion sickness

We were walking in a random direction having no idea where to go.

Jaune: All I'm saying is motion sickness is a much more common problem than people let on!

Ruby: Look, I'm sorry vomit boy was the first thing that came to mind.

Jaune: Oh yeah, what if I called you the Crater twins?

Y/n and Ruby: Hey that explosion was an accident.

Jaune: Well the name's Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls off the tongue, ladies love it!

Y/n: Will they?

Ruby: Do they?

Jaune: They will. Well I hope they will... I mean my mom always says that... never mind.

There was a bit of awkward silence before Ruby broke it and part of the sidewalk along with it.

Ruby: So I got this thing.

She transforms her scythe out and the blade sticks in the ground.

Jaune: Whoa! Is that a scythe!

Ruby: It's also a customizable, high impact velocity sniper rifle.

Jaune: A wha-?

Y/n: It's also a gun, Jaune.

Ruby: So what do you got?

Jaune: Oh uh I got this sword.

He pulls his sword out of its sheath.

Ruby: Oooooh.

Jaune: Yeah I've got a shield too!

Y/n: So what do they do?

Jaune starts to fumble with his shield while it opens and closes before it hits the ground with a metallic thud.

Jaune: Well the shield gets smaller so... when I get tired of carrying it... I can just put it away.

Ruby: But wouldn't it weigh the same?

Jaune: Yeah it does.

Ruby: Well, I'm kind of a dork when it comes to weapons. I guess I did go a little overboard designing it.

Jaune: Wait. You made that?

Ruby: Of course! All students at Signal forge their own weapons. Didn't you make yours?

Jaune: It's a hand me down. My great great grandfather used it to fight in the war.

Y/n: Sounds to me like a family heirloom. I like it not many people using a classic.

Jaune: Yeah the classics. So what about you Y/n.

Y/n: I have pistol that's a nine millimeter, semi auto and a M24 rifle. You don't want to be on the recieving end of it.

Jaune: But don't you need two hands to fire it.

Ruby: Oh the headmaster is helping him out.

Jaune: Hmm what do you mean?

Y/n: Oh the headmaster had his eye on me since I have so much uh promise before I lost my arm which was quite recent.

Jaune: Oh makes since.

Ruby: So why'd you help us out back there in the courtyard?

Jaune: Eh, why not? My mom always says, 'Strangers are just friends you haven't met yet.'

Ruby: Hmm. (looks around) Hey, where are we going?

Jaune: Oh, I don't know! I was following you and Y/n. Y-You think there might be a directory? Maybe a food court? Some kind of recognizable landmark? Is, uh... Is that a 'no'?

Ruby: (laughing) That's a 'no'.

Y/n: I think we needed to go to the auditorium.

We walked into the auditorium that is full of first years. We saw Yang waving us down in the crowd.

Yang: Ruby! Y/n! Over here! I saved you guys a spot.

Ruby: Oh! Hey I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!

Y/n: Cya Jaune.

Ruby and I started going over to Yang.

Yang: So how's your first day going lovebirds?

Ruby: You mean since you ditched us and we exploded!?

Yang: Yikes meltdown already for two people in a day. And they didn't even hand out a test yet.

Ruby: No we literally exploded a hole in front of the school there was fire and I think some ice.

Y/n: Don't forget lightning.

Yang: Are you being sarcastic?

Ruby: I wish! We tripped over some crabby girl's luggage! And then she yelled at us! And then we sneezed. And then we exploded! The she yelled at us again and insulted Y/n saying he shouldn't even be here. And I felt really, really bad! And I just wanted her to stop yelling at us!

Ruby didn't notice Weiss was behind her.

Weiss: You!

Weiss yelling at her again scared her enough to jump into Yang's arms instead of my one arm in the other timeline.

Bacca: Hey don't break the forth wall.

Y/n: (Whispering) Sorry.

Ruby: Oh god it's happening again!

Weiss: You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!

Yang: Oh my god, you really exploded.

Ruby got down from Yang's arms.

Ruby: It was an accident. It was an accident!

Weiss pulls out two pamphlets called Dust for dummies and put them in front of me and Ruby.

Ruby: What's this?

Weiss: The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust applications and practices in the field.

Ruby: Uuhhh...?

Weiss: You really wanna start making things up to me?

Ruby: Absolutely?

Weiss: (handing the pamphlet to Ruby and I) Read this, and don't ever speak to me again.

Yang: Look, uh, it sounds like you three just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?

Ruby: Yeah great idea sis! Hello Weiss, I'm Ruby. Want to hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!

I've just been growling at Weiss the entire time she's been here.

Yang: (Stern voice) Y/n.

Y/n: Fine. Hey Weiss name's Y/n. Want to be friends. Just don't insult me or my girlfriend and we'll be fine.

Weiss: Yeah, and we can paint our nails, and try on clothes, and talk about cute boys like tall blonde and scraggly over there.

Ruby: Oh wow really?

Weiss: No.

Ozpin walked up to the mic to start his speech.

Ozpin: I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.

Glynda: You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed.

Yang: He seemed kind of... off.

Ruby: It's almost like he wasn't even there.

Jaune: (approaching Weiss from the side) I'm a natural blond, you know!

Y/n: Rubes you hungry.

Ruby: Yeah.

Y/n: I think we passed the cafeteria on the way here let's go.

We both walk out the auditorium and no one was following us.

Y/n: So how was I?

Ruby: What do you mean?

Y/n: My act you know my anger I had towards Weiss.

Ruby: You were faking that why?

Y/n: She gets better with time, right now she's just a lot to handle.

Ruby: No way you faked that, you were growling at her the whole time. It looked like you were going to bite her head off.

Y/n: If she tried to insult you or me I may have tried. But as time goes along she'll start acting nicer and so will I towards her. Come on I'm hungry for something meaty and something sweet.

Timeskip Ruby's Pov

I was laying in my sleeping bag writing my letter to my friends at Signal. Yang starts walking up and fell on her sleeping bag.

Yang: It's like a huge slumber party.

Ruby: I don't think dad would approve of all the boys, though.

Yang: He would definitely approve of Y/n, and I know I approve of all the boys. *purrs* Speaking of here he comes.

I look up to see Y/n walking over to us without a shirt on. I felt my face heat up looking at him. He wasn't built like the other boys he was skinny, but he tries to work on muscles. I was in trance staring at him.

Y/n: Ruby... Ruby... Ruby!

Ruby: Huh what is it?

Y/n: Yang asked you a question.

Yang: Yeah I asked what you were doing?

Ruby: Oh I was just writing a letter back to the gang at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going.

Yang: Aww that's so cute!

I throw a pillow at her face.

Ruby: Shut up.

Y/n: Yeah Ruby doesn't have any friends here other than me, you, and I guess Jaune.

Yang: See plus one friend that's a hundred percent increase.

Ruby: I'm pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend. Back to zero.

Y/n: Ruby you just made one friend and one that's not very friendly at the moment she'll turn her tune around.

Yang: Where was that attitude back at the auditorium?

Y/n: I don't like her personal she just needs to learn the world doesn't revolve around her. Look, it's only one day. There are plenty of friends around you. You just need time to meet them.

I heard a match go off I looked up and saw the girl from this morning.

Ruby: That girl...

Yang: You know her...

Ruby: Not really... She saw what happened this morning but left before I could say anything.

Y/n: Ahh.

Me and Yang look over to Y/n see he laid down next to me but he doesn't have a sleeping bag, pillow, anything.

Yang: You gonna be okay sleeping on the floor.

Y/n: I've slept in the forest before less comfortable than this so I can manage.

Ruby: No you are sleeping with me in my sleeping bag.

Yang: Come on while he gets settled we are gonna go talk to that girl.

Y/n's Pov

I see Yang drag Ruby over to Blake to try and be friends with her. While I get settled in to Ruby's sleeping bag. I tried to sleep but I still heard them talking then Weiss's yelling. I soon heard footsteps to slowly approaching me most likely Ruby and Yang I felt the sleeping bag move a bit. The scent I smelled was strawberries and roses definitely Ruby then she started to scratch my ears while she thought I was asleep instinctively I nuzzled into the hand. I decided to mess with her.

Y/n: You know... just what... to do sis... to calm me... down.

With that I soon drifted off to dream land.

Ruby: True but it is much better than the first one. You are putting more detail or at least trying to in some areas.

Bacca: And again when I typed in that the reader got punched in the shoulder I felt pain in my shoulder. Did you hit me again Ruby.

Ruby was giggling.
