We were all in combat class as Cardin was beating the crap out of Jaune. Usually he picks me but I guess he was tired of getting pistol whipped by me and wanted a win. Cardin hasn't broken a sweat while Jaune looked completely exhausted. None the less he charged at Cardin while he just sidestepped tripped him up and swung his mace at Jaune to make him lose his shield. Jaune gets back up and charged at Cardin again as he blocks Jaune's sword with the hilt.

Cardin: This is the part where you lose.

Jaune: Over my dead- oof.

Cardin knees Jaune in the gut. Jaune falls to the floor as Cardin lifts his mace for a final strike as a buzzer goes off and I launched a fireball at his mace causing him to release it and have it fall away from Jaune and Cardin.

Glynda: Thank you Y/n. Students as you can see Mr. Arc's aura has dropped into the red. In a tournament style duel, this would indicate that Jaune is no longer fit for battle and that the official may call the match. Mr. Arc, it's been weeks now please try to refer to your scroll during combat gauging your aura will help you decide when it is appropriate to attack or when it's better to move to a more... defensive strategy. We wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a beowolf, now would we?

Cardin starts walking off the stage.

Cardin: Speak for yourself.

Glynda: Remember everyone! The Vytal Festival is only a few months away it won't be long before students from the other kingdoms start arriving in Vale, so keep practicing! Those who choose o compete in the combat tournament will be representing all of Vale.

I noticed that Ruby, Yang, and Weiss are excited for the festival, I would to if I could compete and if it wasn't a constant reminder of that episode. The bell starts ringing and I get up and start heading to the cafeteria with my team. I got f/f and a fried porkchop and sat down with my team and team JNPR as Nora was telling a story.

Nora: So there we were in the middle of the night..

I took a bite out of the porkchop as I listen to her story along with most of the group.

Ren: It was day...

Nora: We were surrounded by Ursai...

Ren: They were beowolves.

Nora: Dozens of them!

I noticed Jaune was upset and picking at his food. I grew a worried look on my face. Ruby noticed my look and saw who I was looking at a adopted a saddened look.

Ren: Two of them.

Nora: But they were no match and in the end Ren and I took them down and made a boatload of lien selling ursa skin rugs!

Ren: She's been having this reoccurring dream for nearly a month now.

Pyrrha: Jaune... Are you ok?

Jaune: Huh oh yeah. Why?

Ruby: It's just that you seem a little...

Y/n: Depressed.

I take a bite out of my f/f.

Jaune: Guys, I'm fine... seriously look!

He nervously laughs and puts a fake smile on and does a thumbs up.

Pyrrha: Jaune, Cardin's been picking on you since the first week of school.

Jaune: Who? Cardin Winchester? Nah... He just likes to mess around, you know? Practical jokes.

Ruby: He's a bully.

Jaune: Name one time he's bullied me.

Y/n: He knocked your books out of your hands.

Pyrrha: He got your shield jammed in the door way and Nora launched you and it out afterwards.

Ruby: He put you in a locker and launched it off school grounds.

Jaune: I didn't land that far from the school.

Y/n: You still landed in a pond when you got back you were drenched.

Pyrrha: Jaune, you know if you ever need help, you can just ask.

Nora got up with a crazed grin.

Nora: Oh. We'll break his legs!

Jaune: Guys, really it's fine. It's not like he's just a jerk to me. He's a jerk to everyone.

Velvet: Ow that hurts.

We all looked over to see Cardin pulling on Velvet's bunny ears. It reminds me of when it happened to me when I first went to school. I must have shown my anger cause Ruby tapped my shoulder.

Ruby: He is not worth it, Y/n.

Y/n: Somewhat.

I throw a fireball at his pants leg after Velvet ran off catching it on fire.

Cardin: You guys smell something good cooking.

His team followed the scent to Cardin's pants.

Russel: Dude you're on fire.

Cardin: Huh?

He looks down and notices his pants slowly being engulfed in flames.

Cardin: Ahhhh.

He did something I didn't expect he took his pants off and started stomping on them. Everyone in the cafeteria started to laugh when they saw him wearing heart underwear. Embarrassed enough he grabbed his pants and quickly ran out of the cafeteria with his team following behind. Yang raised her hand for a high five.

Yang: Nice one Y/n.

I give her a high five. After lunch I had Oobleck with Weiss and Blake. Still even from the first version of this book I have no idea what he puts in that coffee of his.

Bacca: Stop breaking the fourth wall.

I sit next to Weiss as he starts his lecture and zoom around the room starting his lecture. He was going on about stuff before the war between faunus and humans.

Oobleck: Yes! Yes, prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution --more popularly known as the Faunus War humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralizing Faunus population in Menagerie. Now! While this must feel like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why, the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your Faunus heritage?

A few students raise their hands as well as me and Velvet.

Oobleck: Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence! I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to White Fang! Now, which one of you young scholars can tell me what many theorize to be the turning point in the third year of the War?

Weiss and I raised our hands.

Oobleck: Yes Mr. L/n?

Y/n: The Battle at Fort Castle.

Oobleck: Precisely! And, who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over General Lagune's forces?

I noticed Cardin flicking a paper football at a sleeping Jaune. Waking him up and getting the dear doctor's attention.

Oobleck: Mr. Arc! Finally contributing to class! This is excellent! Excellent! What is the answer?

Jaune: Uhhhh... The answer... The advantage... that the Faunus... had over that guy's stuff...

He sees Pyrrha cup her hands around her eyes and goes for the most obvious answer.

Jaune: Uhh... Binoculars!

While Jaune looks pleased with his answer, the class laughs at him and Oobleck sips his coffee. Pyrrha sighs and slaps a hand to her forehead as Cardin pounds his fist on his desk while chortling.

Oobleck: Very funny, Mr. Arc! Cardin! Perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject!

Cardin: Well, I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a soldier.

I growled at that response as the good doc shakes his head.

Pyrrha: You're not the most open-minded of individuals, are you, Cardin?

Cardin: What? You got a problem?

Pyrrha: No, I have the answer! It's night vision. Many Faunus are known to have nearly-perfect sight in the dark.

Blake: General Lagune was inexperienced, and made the mistake of trying to ambush the Faunus in their sleep. His massive army was outmatched, and the general was captured. Perhaps if he'd paid attention in class, he wouldn't have been remembered as such a failure.

Oobleck: (as Cardin gets up from his seat, fist clenched) Mr. Winchester! Please take your seat. You and Mr. Arc can both see me after class for additional readings.

Jaune: Oohhhh...

Oobleck: Now! Moving on!

Timeskip

It's been a week since then and now Jaune is being buddy buddy with Cardin. Ruby took a step outside the dorm. I was able to hear her through the door.

Ruby: Hey, Jaune! Long time, no see! Did you lock yourself out again?

Jaune: Oh, uh, nope! Got it!

Ruby: So! Where have you been lately?

Jaune: I, uh... I messed up. I did something I shouldn't have, and now Cardin has me on a leash, and Pyrrha won't even talk to me, and... I'm starting to think coming to this school was a bad idea. I'm a failure.

Ruby: Nope!

Jaune: Nope?

Ruby: Nope! You're a leader now, Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure.

Jaune: But... what if I'm a failure at being a leader?

Ruby: Nope!

Jaune: You know, you're not the easiest person to talk to about this kind of stuff."

Ruby: Nope! Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid and you might've even been a failure the first day we met! But, you can't be one now. You know why?

Jaune: Uhhh, because...?

Ruby: Because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now, Jaune. We both do! And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us. We have to put our teammates first, and ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And I think that can be you. Have a good night, Jaune!

She comes back in and hops in the bed with me.

Y/n: That was a good leader pep talk Ruby.

Ruby: Thanks Y/n. Wait how did you know?

I point at my wolf ears as I wiggle them.

Y/n: My ears.

Ruby: Right.

She starts scratching behind them which relaxes me and causes me to nuzzle into her hand.

Ruby: We should sleep we have a field trip tomorrow.

With that being said we went to sleep cuddling each other.

Timeskip

We all were in the forest of Forever fall with team Jnpr and team Crdl. Me and Ruby were in awe at beautiful trees.

Glynda: Yes, students, the forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so.

The group stops, and Jaune, grunting and carrying a large case with six empty glass jars on top, tries to catch up with them and ends up bumping into Cardin. The bully scowls at Jaune, who attempts to feign innocence by whistling tunelessly.

Glynda: Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at 4 o'clock. Have fun!

We all head off in one direction as team Crdl head in another as Cardin drags Jaune off with them. Once we reach a good clearing we started to head to separate trees to fill our jars. I was thinking of how I'll make the tree bleed some sap. As I was thinking Ruby slashed the tree in front of me and it starts to release some sap.

Y/n: Oh thanks Ruby.

I put my jar up to the tree as it fills Ruby comes up next to me.

Ruby: Hey Y/n I was wondering if I could talk to you in private.

I take the jar away from the tree as it finished filling up.

Y/n: About what?

Ruby: About you know.

She starts writing in the air with her finger spelling out future.

Y/n: Oh ok Ruby.

We both walk away from the group. Once we were far enough we stopped.

Y/n: I'm starting to think you're in a relationship with me to just know the future. So what do you want to know about now?

Ruby: N-no it's not like that. I don't want to know about the future anymore, it's more like why did you tell me you knew it?

It surprised me that she doesn't want to know anything about the future but it makes me happy to think she loves me for me.

Y/n: Ruby, I trust you. I'm a trusting person and some secrets are easier to keep when you share them with someone you trust, friends, or someone you love.

Ruby: If it's easier to keep a secret with friends, why haven't you told them yet.

Y/n: Some secrets are ment to be kept from friends.

Ruby: But why not tell them?

Y/n: Because someone might use me for information like Yang.

Ruby: Why would she?

Y/n: I know where her mother is and she'll non stop ask me for info on her.

I heard a twig break.

Ruby: Did you hear that?

Y/n: Yeah.

I start sniffing the air and caught the scent of expensive perfume. I sighed in relief thinking it was a Grimm.

Y/n: It's just Weiss.

In the nearby bush I hear rustling and she came out.

Weiss: What are you even doing out here anyway?

Ruby: Did you hear what we were talking about?

Weiss: Yes, and it sounds absolutely ridiculous.

I give Ruby a look that basically says should we tell her which she nods yes to.

Y/n: Weiss I do know the future and I can prove it.

Weiss: Tell me something I would only know.

Y/n: Hmm... I know on your tenth birthday your father told your mother that he only married her for the family name.

Weiss: How did you...?

Y/n: You tell that to Yang in the future.

Weiss: Ok then tell me something that will happen.

Y/n: Jaune will decapitate a ursa defending Cardin which should happen very soon. So we should get back to the group.

We start heading back when we neared them we heard a loud growl that sounded like a beast.

Ruby: You guys hear that?

Then we see Cardin's weak team running towards us shouting.

Dumb: Ursa! Ursa!

He bumps into Yang as she grabs him by the shoulders.

Yang: What? Where?

Dumb: Back there it's got Cardin!

Pyrrha must have noticed that Jaune wasn't with the fleeing idiots.

Pyrrha: Jaune!

Ruby: Yang, you and Blake go get Professor Goodwitch.

Blake and Yang run off towards the bullhead.

Pyrrha: You two go with them. There could be more.

Ren and Nora follow them as me, Ruby, Pyrrha, and Weiss went towards the direction that dumb, dumber, and dumbest came from. To see the Ursa major getting closer to a sap covered asshole I mean Cardin. As it swipes at him Jaune comes in and blocks it. Anyone could tell he was somewhat struggling from the force it was pushing on the shield. Weiss was about to jump in and help but I grabbed her shoulder.

Pyrrha: Wait.

Jaune swings his blade at the Ursa making it back away staggered. It tries to attack Jaune as he dodges to the side. It attacks again aiming for his feet making him jump as the Ursa follows up an attack and hitting him mid air sending him back and rolling. He gets back up and charges at the Ursa again and just gets betch smacked away again. He charges one last time as he went to swing at the Ursa and it swung back and Jaune has his shield to low until a black aura covered it and brought it up blocking the ursa's strike as he brings blade up and decapitates the Ursa. Ruby must have noticed Pyrrha's hand glow black.

Ruby: Uh, What?

Weiss: How did you...

Pyrrha: Well Ruby has her speed, Y/n has his flames and fireballs, you have your glyphs, my semblance is polarity.

Ruby: Ah, you can control poles.

Y/n: Ruby she can control magnetic metals.

Ruby: Magnets are cool too.

Pyrrha and I start to walk off.

Weiss: Wait where are you going?

Y/n: He needs a confidence booster we shouldn't take it from him.

They start following us. After a bit of walking I slow my pace Weiss and Ruby noticed and slowed down to stay  near me. Once we were far enough from Pyrrha, Weiss spoke up.

Weiss: How did you know?

Y/n: From where I'm from this is a tv show and I've seen up to the 5th season.

I feel my phone buzz in my pocket it hasn't done that since I got here. I pull it out and turn it on to see the latest notification which was a two week advance on my oldest niece's birthday. Realizing I'm gonna miss it only saddened me and made me think of my family and everyone that probably misses me put me in a sadder mood.

Ruby: Yay more story.

Ruby notices Bacca laying on a heating pad.

Ruby: What are you doing?

Bacca: My back is in pain because I laid on it wrong or something today so I'm using this heating pad to make it feel better.

Ruby: Oh so I guess I'll end this chapter. He hope you guys enjoyed this chapter and he'll see you guys in the next one.
