I woke up to the sing song voice saying 'it's morning' over and over. I lift my head to see Ruby laying down on top of me but she was stirring from the sing song voice of Nora. She lifted her head to see I was looking at her. I moved my head up to kiss her on the lips.

Y/n: Morning I take it that you liked your bed last night.

Ruby: (blushing) Yes.

She started getting off me and I got up.

Ruby: Y/n last night you said something.

Y/n: Hmm oh I was dreaming about my sis she would scratch behind my ears to calm me down. We should go eat before our initiation begins.

Timeskip

I opened my locker to see not only my guns but also a box. I pick it up it had a symbol that looked like a valley.

Ruby: What's that Y/n?

Y/n: I don't know. Hey there's a note.

I pick it up and started to read it.

Note: I believe this will suit you to your liking Mr. L/n.

I open the box to reveal.

My new prosthetic arm. It was blue and f/c on opposing sides.

Ruby: Oooh. What do you think it can do?

I look back at the note and flipped it over.

Y/n: Oh here it says it has a flashlight attachment and grappling hook attachment. Make a fist and lower the wrist.

After Ruby helps me put it on I do so and it fires the hook out and wraps around Yang ,that's at her locker still oblivious to her surroundings at the moment, and pulls her towards me.

Yang: Huh what the heck?

She collides with me and we fall to the ground. Ruby unwraps the cord from Yang and helps her up off me and the hook comes back to the arm as the fist resets.

Yang: What was that?

Ruby: Oh that was Y/n's grappling hook.

She looks to me and notices the new arm.

Yang: That new arm suits you.

I shut my locker after I grab my rifle.

Y/n: Thanks.

Ren and Nora walks past us as Nora keeps talking.

Ruby: Wonder what those two are so worked up about.

Yang: Oh who knows... So you seem awfully chipper this morning.

Ruby pulls crescent rose out of her locker.

Ruby: Yep! No more small talk or getting to know you stuff. Today I get to let my sweetheart do the talking.

Yang: Well, remember Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you want to grow up, you're going to have to meet new people and learn to work together.

Y/n: Yeah you can't rush in guns blazing every time you have work with other people at times.

Ruby: Ugh, you both sound like dad! Okay, first of all what does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly, I don't need people to grow up. I drink milk!

Yang: But what about when we form teams?

Ruby: Uhm, I don't know, I'll just be on your team or Y/n's team or something...

Yang: Maybe you should be on someone else's team?

Y/n: I would love to be on your team.

Ruby: My dearest sister Yang, are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me!?

Y/n: No she thinks it would help break you out of your shell.

Ruby: I don't need to break out of my shell that's absolutely-

Jaune walks past us looking for his locker.

Jaune: Ridiculous! There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday.

Y/n: Ruby she's just saying that because you haven't tried to initiate at conservation with someone new besides letting other people talk to you first.

Ruby: That's not necessarily true when we met I started the conversation. It's just hard for me to talk to new people.

Y/n: Listen I'm the same way I just don't like talking to other people unless I have to or I know them.

Yang: You two are made for each other. You're both socially awkward, both like weapons in your own weird ways. You both even use sniper rifles.

We heard the intercom come on.

Glynda over intercom: Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately.

We all start leaving the locker room and see Jaune still sitting on the floor after a major rejection. As Ruby and I put our hands down to help him up.

Yang: Having some trouble there lady killer?

Jaune: I don't understand... my dad said all women look for is confidence. Where did I go wrong?

Yang: Snow Angel probably wasn't the best start.

Y/n: I've been told just be yourself.

Ruby and I pull Jaune up.

Y/n: Up we go dude. Let's get to initiation.

Timeskip

We were all on a grey platform that will launch us into the forest.

Y/n: (Whispering) This is gonna suck?

Ozpin: For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.

Glynda: Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today.

Ruby: What? Ohhh...

Ozpin: These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well.

Ruby: (groaning)

Ozpin: That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years.

Ruby: Whaaaat?!

Nora: (to Ren) See? I told you-!

Ozpin: However there is an extra student this year. After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die.

Jaune laughs nervously and then gulps loudly.

Ozpin: You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. If you are at the temple without a partner there is a special relic for you to get. Are there any questions?

Jaune: (raising his hand) Yeah, um, sir?

Ozpin: Good! Now, take your positions.

I ready my pistol and crouch down. I get launched first yay. I start hurtling towards the forest my mind literally in a panic once I noticed I was nearing the tree line I readied my grappling hook and fired. It must have hit something cause I started to swing. When I neared the ground the hook unlatched itself and I rolled on along the ground. I got up and realized I didn't die.

Y/n: I'm alive. Haha I'm alive!

I holster my pistol and pull out my rifle. I look around where I landed to see if there was any Grimm nearby which there wasn't. I checked the position of the sun.

Y/n: Okay so if the sun is there then that should be east (Pointing in the opposite direction) that should be west so that means north is...

I turn my body towards north.

Y/n: ...That way.

I start running in that direction.

Meanwhile at the cliff top Ozpin's Pov

Glynda: The last possible pair has been formed, sir. Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren. Poor boy... I can't possibly imagine those two getting along. Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos.

Ozpin: Mmmm...

Glynda: I don't care what his transcripts say. That Jaune fellow is not ready for this level of combat. I guess we'll find out soon enough. It looks like Y/n L/n will be getting the special relic. At their current pace, they should reach the temple within just a few minutes. (turning back to Ozpin) Speaking of which, what did you use as relics this year? (silence) Professor Ozpin?

Y/n's Pov

I didn't come across any Grimm on my way to the temple which was a little weird. When I stood in the middle of the temple I looked at all of the pieces and saw something, more like something's, that wasn't chess pieces. A group of fired sniper casings.

Each one had letters written on the side. R.R. W.S. Y.X.L. B.B. J.A. N.V. L.R. P.N. C.W. R.T. D.B. and S.L.. I didn't know what they stood for so a grabbed the first one I saw which was the one with R.R. I start to go but saw Yang and Blake come out of the forest.

Yang: Think this is it?

Blake: Someone is down.

They came down towards the temple. Looks like I'm going to be a part of their epic fight.

Yang: Oh it's Y/n. Hey Y/n.

Y/n: Hey Yang. Who's she? (Pointing towards Blake)

Yang: That's Blake.

I walk up to her.

Y/n: Name's Y/n.

Blake: Blake.

Blake walked past me and looked at the 'relics'.

Blake: Chess pieces?

Yang: Some of them are missing. Looks like we weren't the first ones here.

Blake: Well, I guess we should pick one.

Yang walks up to the white knight piece and picked it up.

Yang: How about a cute little pony?

Blake: Sure.

Yang: That wasn't too hard.

Y/n: Yeah this place isn't to hard to find as long as you have basic survival training.

There was a girly scream that we all heard which was definitely Jaune. We all turned towards the direction it came from.

Yang: Some girls in trouble. Did you guys hear that? What should we do?

Me and Blake were looking up to see Ruby falling.

Ruby: Heads upppp!

I quickly went underneath where she was going to land and saw Jaune fly above her towards a tree. I catch her bridal style and her eyes were closed and she was still screaming.

Y/n: You can open your eyes now.

She opened them and saw I caught her. She instantly wrapped me in a hug and kissed my cheek.

Ruby: My hero.

Blake: Did your sister just fall from the sky?

Yang: I-

There was rustling at the tree line and Nora came out on top of a Ursa.

Nora: Yeehaw.

It collapsed and she fell off.

Nora: Aww. It's broken.

She got on top of it as Ren came out of the forest out of breath.

Ren: Nora? Please... don't ever do that again.

He looks up to see she wasn't there and already at the temple grabbing the white rook piece singing.

Nora: I'm queen of the castle. I'm queen of the castle.

Ren: Nora!

She stops acting up and the rook slides off her head into her hands.

Nora: Coming Ren.

She skips off.

Blake: Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?

Y/n: Yes yes she did.

Ruby: Cool.

Yang: I-

We all heard the screeching of a Grimm coming closer. Pyrrha emerged from the forest being chased by a deathstalker dodging its swipes at her.

Pyrrha: Jaune!

Jaune: Pyrrha!

I let Ruby out of my arms and rushed over to the temple.

Yang: Ruby?

Ruby: Yang!

They were about to hug until Nora popped up between them.

Nora: Nora!

Blake: Did she just run all the way here with a deathstalker on her tail?

Yang looked like she was about to blow her fuse. Which she did.

Yang: I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?

Ren walked up to the group clearly out of breath. As I walked up beside Ruby, she was trying to get Yang's attention.

Ruby: Uhh Yang?

She directed everyone's attention above us to the nevermore above us that still had Weiss hanging on.

Weiss: How could you leave me?!

Ruby: I said jump...

Blake: She's gonna fall.

Ruby: She'll be fine.

Y/n and Ren: She's falling.

While she was falling Jaune tries to catch her, keyword tries, he fails and faceplants on the ground and Weiss lands on his back.

Weiss: (Sarcastic) My hero.

I notice Pyrrha still running from the deathstalker behind them.

Jaune: (In pain) My back.

Pyrrha gets betch smacked by the deathstalker towards us and lands in front of me and Ruby.

Yang: Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!

Ruby: Not if I can help it!

She launches herself towards the deathstalker.

Yang: Ruby, wait.

Ruby slashes at the deathstalker but it backhanded her effectively smacking her away.

Ruby: (getting up slowly) D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!

Ruby turns back to the monster and shoots it in the skull, running away from it and sheathing her scythe as the Death Stalker now goes after her.

Yang: (running forward) Ruby!

Ruby rushes towards us, but the Nevermore caws above them, flapping its wings and releasing lines of sharpened feathers with points that catch on Ruby's cape and prevent Yang from reaching her.

Yang: Ruby, get out of there!

Ruby: (struggling with the cloak) I'm trying!

The Death Stalker approaches, raising its golden stinger above a scared Ruby and heading down on my girlfriend.

Yang: (reaching out in vain) Ruby!

I reached out towards them as Weiss rushed past them fire formed from my hand and was sent out towards the deathstalker. As it hit it Weiss formed a ice barrier that trapped the stinger and one of its claws. I looked at my hand and I called up another fireball.

Y/n: Cool. I have a fire manipulation semblance.

I look up to see that Ruby and Weiss are talking it out before Weiss walked away and Ruby got enveloped in a hug by Yang. I ran up and did the same after Yang walked back to the group.

Y/n: I'm so glad you're okay as well.

Ruby: (Whispering) You knew I was gonna be fine.

Y/n: (Whispering) My mere presence changes the timeline Ruby so I was worried that you were gonna die. But your little stunt unlocked my semblance.

Ruby: (Whispering) Great.

We separate from each other and head back to the temple.

Jaune: Guys, that thing's circling back. What are we gonna do?

Weiss: Look, there's no sense in dilly dallying. Our objective is right in front of us.

Ruby: She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the cliffs.

Jaune: Run and live. That is an idea I can get behind.

Ruby goes and grabs the white knight piece as Jaune grabs the white rook piece. The keeps struggling and screeching god it's annoying.

Ren: Time we left.

Ruby: Right let's go.

We all start running back to the cliff.

Mini timeskip

We all made it to the bottom of the cliff where there is ruined tower and buildings. We all got behind separate walls to hide from the nevermore that followed us as it lands on the top of the tower. Then the deathstalker from before came bursting out of the forest behind us.

Jaune: Oh, man, run!

We all ran from our cover and the nevermore launched its feathers at us. Nora started to fire her grenades at it having it get hit in the face with it. I readied my rifle and shot at the eyes of the deathstalker that was trying to sneak up on Nora causing it to screech in pain as Ren and Blake attack it's claws. We all made it to the bridge as the nevermore comes back around and breaks it separating the two sides and sending me down the chasm.

Y/n: Crap.

I launch my grappling hook to the bridge as it started to pull me up the cable felt loose when I looked up I saw that the part I grappled to got smashed most likely by Nora. I started to fall again.

Timeskip after the big fight Yang's Pov

Ruby landed up on the top of the cliff after her plan worked out and decapitated the nevermore.

Yang: Well that was a thing.

I looked around and notice that Y/n wasn't anywhere to be seen.

Yang: Have either of you seen Y/n?

Blake: No.

Weiss: I thought he helped fight the deathstalker.

???: Help.

The voice sounded echoy at also sounded like Y/n.

Yang: Who said that?

The sounds of a engine could be heard I looked up to see a bullhead fly above us and into the chasm. (It's big enough for a bullhead I rewatched the episode.) Only one thing went through my mind.

Yang: Oh my god did he fall?!

Timeskip Y/n's Pov

I slowly open my eyes to see I was in a white room in a bed next to some machines that were beeping. I guess I'm in the infirmary. I looked over to see Ruby yet again by my bedside when I am injured. I groan as I sit up causing Ruby to wake up.

Ruby: Ohmygosh Y/n you'reokwhenIsawyouonlyhadonelegIwassoworriedaboutyou. (Oh my gosh Y/n you're ok when I saw you only had one leg I was so worried about you)

I was confused about what she said since she spoke so fast so I thought I needed to comfort her. I open my arms and lean over to give her a hug which she returned.

Y/n: I'm ok Ruby.

When we let go the door opened revealing Ozpin coming.

Ozpin: Ah, Mr. L/n you're awake.

Y/n: Yeah so what happened?

Ozpin: The team I sent to find you said that you had a piece of the bridge on your right leg. They said if they pulled it off it would cause crushed syndrome.

Y/n: I heard about that but I don't remember the specifics about what causes it. All I really remember about it is if blood flow is restored it would have sent me into cardiac arrest or something. So they cut my leg off didn't they?

Ozpin: Yes I'm afraid so.

Ruby: Is he gonna be expelled for not completing initiation?

Ozpin: No.

I looked up to him as Ruby had an excited look on her face.

Ozpin: Even though he never made it up the cliff he still made it to the cliff. The relic you brought back was the rifle casing with R.R. on it. Those were the initials of Ruby you will be put on her team.

Y/n: Thanks Ozpin. But what about my leg, I can't exact be a huntsman with only one leg.

Ozpin: That should be rectified soon.

Ruby and I both had a confused face at this statement.

Ozpin: I put a express order for a prosthetic leg for you it should arrive to your dorm tomorrow morning.

Y/n: Thanks Ozpin.

Ozpin: No need. I see a lot of potential in you Mr. L/n I'd hate to see it wasted. Now I believe you have new teammates you need to greet in your dorm.

He left the room. I look back over to Ruby to see her face full of excitement still.

Ruby: I can't believe you made it in I thought for sure you gonna be expelled. But I was wrong and you even got put on the same team as me. Come on we need to tell them the news.

Ruby went of to grab the crutches for me.

Y/n: I couldn't agree more.

I lift my covers to reveal the bandages covering my numb of a leg and how far up they had to cut it off which was right above the knee. Ruby came back with the crutches as I grab them and move my lower body to hang off the bed as I lift myself up so we can leave and head back to the dorm.

Y/n: We both know he just wants me to stay close so he can use my future knowledge.

Ruby: Yeah. Let's go.

Timeskip to the dorm

Ruby opened the door and walked in I immediately heard Yang talking.

Yang: So how is Ruby?

Ruby: He's better in fact.

I walk in the dorm.

Yang: Oh my god your okay.

She was about to hug me but stopped realizing if she does that I'll fall after she let's go.

Y/n: Yeah and I passed the initiation.

Weiss: How you didn't make it up the cliff?

Y/n: Apparently you just have to make it to the cliff not up it and I did.

Yang: Oh so what team are you on?

Y/n: This one.

Weiss: Wait what? Not only does Ozpin put a cripple on our team it's a boy on an all girls team.

Y/n: I won't do anything weird but that crippled part is going to be gone tomorrow.

Yang: What do you mean?

Y/n: Before he left in the infirmary he said I have a lot of potential in you and he'd hate to see me waste it. So he is getting me another prosthetic for me.

Weiss was definitely infuriated by this most likely because Ozpin made Ruby leader and he has shown a great interest in me. She just went straight to bed after my last sentence.

Y/n: So where am I sleeping?

Yang: Why not with Ruby?

I look towards her and saw she blushed as red as her cloak.

Y/n: You okay with that Rosebud.

She nodded her head. She went to get changed in the bathroom.

Ruby: (Quietly) Yes.

I slowly make my way over to her bed and sit down as Ruby gets out and sat down on the other side and laid down on the bed as I set my crutches to lean against the wall. I laid down as well and looked at Ruby as she looked at me we shared a quick kiss on the lips.

Y/n: Night Rosebud.

Ruby: Night my big bad wolf.

Then we both slowly drifted off to sleep.

Bacca: Its because I have a different idea for the fall of Beacon to what happens to Y/n.

Ruby: So do you wanna tell me?

Bacca: Nope.
