A/n I'm so sorry I just noticed the pic was missing

After last night me and Jaune haven't really talked to each other. Ren and Nora they were from what I can tell ok with me. We were walking down the path to the village or town I think the next town is Higabana. Me and Ruby were trying to think of a name for the baby girl we found while I was carrying her.

Ruby: Hmmm... what about... Mia?

Y/n: Hmm... no.

Ruby: What about Emma?

Y/n: How about Sapphire?

Ruby: I like that. How did you come up with that?

Y/n: Her eyes, they sparkle like sapphires.

Sapphire: Saphy.

Ruby: I think she likes it. What's going to be her last name?

Y/n: I was thinking Rose.

Ruby: Why my last name? You found her.

Y/n: But she called you Mama.

Sapphire: Mama.

Y/n: I think she wants you.

I hand her to Ruby and she starts cradling her in her arms.

Y/n: You'll be a great mother Ruby. Now if you excuse me I'm going to check on my nieces.

Ren: Where are they anyway?

Y/n: Ruby and Yang's home.

Nora: But that's so far away how are you going to get there and back in a day.

Y/n: I can make portals to people I have strong bonds with like Ruby and my nieces. It also can take me back home if I wanted.

Ren: So you have a second semblance.

Y/n: I wouldn't say that. And I can't really tell you what it is either it's not my info to tell.

Ruby: Then who?

Y/n: You'll find out soon.

I make a portal to Tai's place and go through. I walk up to the door and knock. I waited a few moments before Tai opens the door.

Tai: Y/n I was starting to think something happened. So how's Ruby?

Y/n: She's doing fine.

I walk in the door and we sat down on the couch. I already told him about me and where I really came from so he expects me every so often to check up on my nieces and Yang.

Y/n: So how are my nieces and their training?

Tai: They are doing great. Still don't get how they convinced you to let them be trained to be huntresses.

Y/n: So how's Yang?

Tai: She's doing fine the girls help her with her chores. Oh she got a new arm from Atlas and a leg came in for you as well.

Y/n: Oh well can't really take it with me since we have baby Sapphire with us.

As soon as I said that he picked me up by the collar with a fist readied.

Tai: Did you really knock her up right after you left?!

Y/n: No. We found her in a destroyed town under a hatch in a house. Ruby wants to keep her since the night before she called her mom and me dad.

He let me go and we sit back down.

Tai: We both know she's to young to be a mother.

Y/n: Yeah but she is doing great with her. I'll protect both her and Sapphire.

I started hearing footsteps coming from the stairs. I turn my head and see Avery and Presley.

Girls: Uncle Y/n

Y/n: How's my two nieces?

Avery: We are doing great.

Y/n: So either of you unlocked your semblance?

Presley: No not yet.

Y/n: You'll find out what it is soon.

I ruffled their hair as I said that. I then  heard Yang walk in.

Yang: Hey Y/n.

Y/n: Hey Yang.

I get up and start walking to the door.

Y/n: I'd love to stay longer but I should head back to the group.

Girls: Aww bye uncle Y/n.

I make a portal back to Ruby and go through. I tried to sneak up on them but that was ruined by Sapphire.

Sapphire: Dada.

They turn around and see me walking up to them.

Ruby: So how are they?

Y/n: They are doing fine. I bet they'd love to meet little Sapphire at some point.

Ren: I think they would.

Timeskip next day 

We were walking down the path while I was holding Sapphire.

Y/n: Looks like its gonna Rain.

Ruby: Come on guys! If we pick up the pace we can hit the next town before sunset.

Jaune: Assuming it's still there.

Y/n: It's there.

He didn't respond to me. I'm trying to make amends with him but he's not accepting anything.

Ruby: This one's supposed to be pretty big. Hee... gan... bay... na.

Ren: Higanbana. It's a well protected village with a popular inn.

Nora: Which means no camping in the rain.

Ruby: See, everything's gonna be fine.

Jaune: *Whispering* Probably not with him around.

Y/n: Is me being here a problem Jaune?

Ruby: Where did this come from?

Y/n: You know what lets just go. Can't believe I'm actually trying to be friends with you again.

I started walking faster then them to the point I lost sight of them. I came across a fork in the path and there was no signs saying which path led where. I just guessed since I didn't  want to see Jaune right now. Sure enough I got to the town I went to the inn got two rooms one for me, Ruby, and Sapphire, the other for Jaune, Nora, and Ren. I told the inn keeper that I was travelling with four others they're just behind. I gave her a quick description of them including Jaune as much as I'm pissed at him I still didn't do anything to stop what happened. He has every right to be pissed at me. I waited in the room keeping little Sapphire entertained.

Timeskip Ruby's pov

We get to the town and the inn.

Inn keeper: Ahh you must be the four he was talking about.

Ruby: I'm sorry do you mean us?

Inn keeper: Yes your friend came in earlier saying that he was travelling with a group that fits the description he gave me. Here are the keys to your rooms.

She gave us the keys and we went to our rooms. I enter mine and see Y/n rubbing Sapphire's belly. He sees me puts a finger to his lip and mouthed 'she's almost asleep'. After awhile he stopped and put her on the bed.

Y/n: Just like Presley. Tickle her belly and she's out like a light.

Ruby: What was with that outburst before you ran off? I was so worried about you and Sapphire.

Y/n: Did Jaune forget that certain Faunus have enhanced hearing or he did know and say that?

Ruby: What did he say?

Y/n: After you said 'everything's gonna be fine', he said 'probably not with him around'. I knew he wasn't talking about Ren. 

Ruby: I guess he's still mad.

Y/n: I understand why he is still mad at me. He has every right to be.

Ruby: But he knows you tried and you already lost everything, well everything family wise.

Y/n: I don't know what to say or do to make it up to him.

Ruby: It will take time for him, you just have to wait.

Y/n: I guess you're right.

Ruby: So anything happen while we weren't with you?

Y/n: I got baby stuff for Sapphire, and had to change her, again. When we get to Haven we can get her some toys. 

Ruby: At least we're prepared for her now. We should go to sleep too, we still have a long way to go.

Timeskip 

We walking down the path Ren was carrying Sapphire while I was reading the map.

Nora: Another day, another adventure.

Ruby: What's on the agenda today, Y/n?

Y/n: Walking.

Nora: With a side of...?

Y/n: A crazed maniac.

Everyone Stopped when I said that.

Nora: You're joking right?

Y/n: Nope not at all. I can tell you who he is if you want?

Ruby: Really why?

Y/n: I told you after the Vytal festival everything was basically set in stone.

We started walking again.

Ruby: Haven is much farther then I thought.

Ren: Ruby? How long did you think this journey would take?

Ruby: I don't know! I grew up in a small area. I've never been this far from home.

Jaune: Right but how long?

Ruby: Maybe like two weeks?

Jaune: What?! 

Ruby: Fine three or something. Hey what's that?

Jaune: That's strange... I didn't think we'd be hitting another village for a few days. 

Nora: Are those buildings... damaged?

Jaune: We should search for survivors.

They all rush towards the abandoned village.

Y/n: Hey wait. Ugh

I started running after them. I enter the village and see them searching.

Y/n: Guys?

Ruby: We need to look for anyone that could be hurt.

Y/n: There's no one here. Look at the buildings, what do see?

Ruby: Damaged.

Y/n: Wrong, if you noticed some are missing a wall or the roof. These buildings aren't damaged but unfinished, abandoned.

Nora: Hey I think I found something. Oniyuri? Never heard of it... Y/n?

Y/n: I'll let Ren take this.

Ruby: You've heard of it?

Ren: I have. You might think of it as Anima's Mountain Glenn, had it never been completed? Years ago, the richest members of Mistral were unhappy with how the kingdom was being run. Frustrated with the council, they pooled their resources together to build their own city. With their own laws. They hoped that one day, it could maybe even become its own kingdom. Many thought it would be the future. I know my parents did.

Ruby: What happened?

Ren: What always happens.

Y/n: The grimm...

Ren: Not just any, one. 

Ruby: One? 

Jaune: Come on, let's get through here.

Y/n: Yeah this place is creepy.

We all started to try and leave. I started hearing fast footsteps. I pull my out W/n.

Y/n: Ren hide Sapphire.

Ruby: What is it?

Y/n: He's here.

Ren went to a nearby building that looked finished and hid Sapphire there. Tyrian came out and I rush him. I try to slash at him from the top and try to swipe his legs but knocked me back. I get up and look to see him hitting Ruby. Next I see him on Jaune's shield just staring Nora rushes in with Magnhild, but Tyrian just leaps from Jaune's shield to her hammer and up through the top story of a narrow, rectangular building. Holding himself up with his feet on wooden frames to either side of him, Tyrian looks down at us.

Jaune: We're not looking for a fight!

Ren: Who are you?

Tyrian leans forward, drops from the tower, does a front flip, and lands on his feet in front of us.

Tyrian: Who I am matters not to you. (points to Ren) Or you. (points to Nora) Or— (cuts himself off and pauses) Well... you do interest me. (pointing to Jaune) and you look familiar. (Pointing at me)

He points at Ruby while I was wondering why he thinks I'm familiar to him.

Tyrian: I only matter to you.

Ruby: Me?

Tyrian: (breaks down into laughter) You, you haven't the slightest clue, do you? Oh, how exciting this must be.

Ruby: What do you want?

Tyrian: Oh, the rose has thorns! My little flower, I'm here to whisk you away with me!

Y/n: You're not taking her anywhere.

Tyrian: Good.

He rushed behind Jaune, Ren shoots his shield to ricochet a shot on Tyrian. He cartwheeled onto Jaune's shield and launched off it towards me while I fired my assault rifle filled with the last of my normal ammo, I brought with me when I first came here, turns out my ammo can go through aura, but he just blocked them hit me hard sending through a wall into a building. I tried getting up but I noticed the building was struggling to stay up. I get up, I was hearing the beams creaking I run but the building started falling I try to dive out but my lower body gets caught in the debris. The dust settled and I see Tyrian with his scorpion stinger out and readied.

Y/n: Jaune, someone do something.

But after I said that Qrow stopped his stinger right on time.

Qrow: Hey.

Tyrian: As I live and breathe, Qrow Branwen. A true huntsman has entered the fray!

Ruby: I don't know, this guy's weird.

Y/n: No he's a fucking maniac.

Qrow: (facing Tyrian again) Look, pal, I'm not sure who you are, but you need to leave my niece alone.

Tyrian chortles.

Tyrian: Why, friend, my name is Tyrian. And I'm afraid that is not possible. My assignment from Her Grace was to retrieve this young girl. So, that is what I must do. One does not upset the Queen.

Ruby: Queen?

Qrow: Salem.

Ruby: Who?

Tyrian: Hmm, I think we've had enough talk now, don't you?

Tyrian assumes a crouching position.

Qrow: Took the words right out of—

Tyrian rushes Qrow before he can finish voicing the thought and the two fight. A roof gets damaged and Tyrian uses the bullet capability in the gloves of his wrist blades. Ren and Nora join in, but Tyrian easily gets them away. He moves to chase them, but Qrow intervenes.

Qrow: Don't come closer!

The two men continue to fight.

Ruby: Fine!

She takes Crescent Rose to the top of a building and waits for an opening to shoot Tyrian. However, both he and Qrow move too fast for her to get a clear shot. I'm trying to get the debris of me but I'm having trouble.

Tyrian manages to uses his tail to disarm Qrow. This slows things down enough for Ruby to repeatedly shoot at him from the roof, but Tyrian just deflects each with his tail.

Qrow switches to punching Tyrian in face. With a final kick, he is successful enough to beat Tyrian down and casually move to retrieve his weapon from where it embedded in a wall. Tyrian waits until Qrow has his back turned before striking, but Qrow merely leaps on top of his own weapon and activates its scythe mode. The two continue to battle, their fight taking them to a roof top. They appear evenly matched until Tyrian descends into the building and uses his tail to drag Qrow down, too.

This is enough to make Ruby decide to no longer stay back. Just as she reaches the building, Qrow comes out through a wall, his body and his weapon bouncing. The weapon lands with its blade in the ground, and Qrow perches atop it. Red flickers of damaged Aura move over his body twice. Ren and Nora notice me having trouble getting out of the collapsed building. They come over and help me out.

Y/n: Thanks.

Tyrian comes out of the floating dust and grime inside the building, purple flickers moving across his body. As the two begin to strike again, Ruby jumps in between and deflects Tyrian's blades with Crescent Rose.

Jaune: Ruby!

Ren holds Jaune back from moving forward.

Tyrian: Do you wish to be taken?

Ruby: No! But I won't stand by and watch someone get hurt!

Both Qrow and Ruby move in to attack Tyrian and the three clash. His eyes purple again, Tyrian almost gets her with his stinger, but Qrow blocks it.

Qrow: Ruby! What did I say?! Get back!

Ruby: This is my fight, too!

She attacks Tyrian while he's still locked blade-to-blade with Qrow, but his legs arch away from the swing of Crescent Rose.

Qrow: No, it's not that. It's—

Ruby attacks again, and Tyrian moves to her. He flips and sends her back with a two-footed kick. She slides closer to the building and gains her ground, but the wooden beams near the roof have been shaken up too much and a heavy one breaks and descends upon her. Qrow slices it in half so it falls in pieces to either side of Ruby without touching her. I run and push Qrow out of the way just in time and I got the poison.

Ruby: Y/n! 

She gets up and cuts Tyrian's tail off with Crescent Rose.

Tyrian: You bitch! 

He runs away. While fall to one knee.

Ruby: Y/n are you alright?

Y/n: Just grazed. I'll be fine.

I noticed everyone crowding Qrow.

Nora: Who was that guy?

Ren: How did you get here?

Jaune: Why are people after Ruby?

Ruby: Uncle Qrow? What's going on?

Qrow: What's your favorite fairy tale?

Y/n: Where's Sapphire?

Ren: I'll get her.

Ruby: I'll come with you.

They both walk off.

Qrow: Who's Sapphire?

Y/n: The baby we found.

They come back Ruby was holding Sapphire.

Timeskip

Qrow finished explaining the maidens to the group. They patched me up where I took the hit.

Qrow: Really? No questions?

Jaune: Of course we have questions. This is just... a lot to take in.

Ruby: So these... Maidens... They're powerful fighters that don't need dust to use magic.

Y/n: Yeah.

Nora: And there are four of them?

Qrow: Yup. Always.

Ren: Which means that, whenever one of them dies, the power transfers to someone - a female - that they cared about?

Qrow: Whoever was in their thoughts last. Important distinction. Best option is someone we can trust. Regardless, their souls become combined, in a way.

Jaune: And that's what you were trying to do to Pyrrha... the night the tower fell. You were trying to turn her into one of them.

Qrow: The previous Fall Maiden, Amber, had been attacked. She was young, inexperienced. And her assailant, who we now know is Cinder, somehow managed to steal some of her power, but not all of it. We were afraid that if we didn't do something, the rest would go to her as well.

Jaune: (looking angry) So you forced it on Pyrrha.

Y/n: They didn't force her. They laid out the situation at hand and let her choose. You heard her.

Ruby: That guy, Tyrian - why was he after me?

Qrow: (sighing) Well, you definitely painted a target on your back with what you did at Beacon. I told you having silver eyes is a rare trait. And the fact that you were able to use them seems to have upset some very powerful people. Not many people know about the silver eyes. Those that do aren't very happy that one has surfaced. That's why I've been keeping an eye on you in order to make sure you were safe. All of you.

Ruby: Well, then, why not just travel with us? It seems like that would've been way easier.

Jaune: He was using you as bait.

Y/n: Wrong. It's his semblance.

Jaune: (turning back to face him) What is all of this? Ruby's being hunted, the schools are being attacked, all for what?! What is the point of all of this?! Will you just tell us what's going on?!

Qrow stares at him, then slouches over with a sigh.

Qrow: Would you sit down? You're stressin' me out, 'kid.

Jaune sits back down on his log and crosses his arms. Qrow starts to take another swig, but changes his mind before the flask reaches his lips.

Qrow: Not many people are super religious these days.

Qrow caps and sets the flask down.

Qrow: This world's been around for a long time, long enough that people have created dozens of gods. But if you believe Ozpin, two of them are actually real. They were two brothers. The older sibling, the god of light, found joy in creating forces of life. Meanwhile, the younger brother, the god of darkness, spent his time creating forces of destruction. As you can imagine, they both had pretty different ideas about how things should go. The older one would spend his days creating water, plants, wildlife. And at night, his brother would wake to see all the things that the elder had made and become disgusted. To counteract his brother's creations, the god of darkness brought drought, fire, famine, all he could do to rid Remnant of life. Life always returned. So one night, the younger brother went and made something - something that shared his innate desire to destroy anything and everything.

Ruby: The creatures of Grimm.

Qrow: You guessed it. The older brother finally had enough. Knowing that their feud couldn't last like this forever, he proposed that they make one final creation... together, something that they could both be proud of, their masterpiece. The younger brother agreed. This last great creation would be given the power to both create and destroy. It would be given the gift of knowledge, so that it could learn about itself and the world around it. And most importantly, it would be given the power to choose, to have free will to take everything it had learned and decide which path to follow - the path of light or the path of darkness. And that is how Humanity came to be.

Ren: But... what does that have to do with us?

Qrow: Well, that's the kicker. See, the four gifts to mankind - knowledge, creation, destruction and choice - aren't just metaphorical. Each of them exists in a physical form, left behind by the gods before they abandoned Remnant, and each of them is extraordinarily powerful. If someone were to collect all four, they'd be able to change the world. That's exactly what the enemy wants. The Huntsman Academies were created to train generations of Humanity's protectors, but they also serve another purpose - guarding the Relics. When Ozpin's predecessor founded the schools, he built them around the Relics to act as a fortress. Not only would they be easier to defend, but they would constantly be surrounded by trained warriors. The hope was that hiding them would keep mankind from using them against itself... and, of course, keeping them out of her reach.

Y/n: There's that.

Ruby: Her. You mean Salem?

Qrow: That's right. Not much is known about her. Quite frankly,  that's not what matters. What matters right now is that she wants the relics and she gets them its not to end well.

Jaune: Alright. So, let's say we believe all this. There really is this crazy evil being behind these attacks, not just some thugs trying to become powerful. Why doesn't the world know? Why isn't Atlas going after them? Or Mistral?

Nora: And why aren't we in more of a hurry to get to Haven? Shouldn't we be getting them a message? What if they're next?

Qrow: The headmaster over there saw what happened to Beacon. He's not dumb. He'll be on his guard. Besides, it takes time to mobilize forces like that. Do you really think they planned out that attack on Beacon overnight? (pointing at Jaune) And to answer your question, it's the same reason we keep quiet about the Maidens. If the whole world knew about the Relics, about Salem, there would be chaos. There'd be another Great War on our hands, and this time, you'd have to fight. (pointing at Jaune again)

Jaune turns away.

Qrow: Look, I had the same questions, too. But ol' Ozpin would always put his foot down. "We can't cause a panic." Heh, can't tell you how many times I've heard that. Salem's smart. She works from the shadows, using others to get what she wants, so that when it comes time to place the blame, we can only point at each other. She's trying to divide us - humanity, and so far she's done a pretty damn good job.

Ruby: Alright so should we do?

Qrow: I don't really know. Ozpin has put a lot of trust in the headmasters. Like I said, the schools are an important part of stopping Salem. Atlas is going to be on high alert after the last attack, and Vacuo is - well, Vacuo. It'll be hard to hire thieves and scoundrels to fight against other thieves and scoundrels. Take that, add in the fact that Cinder and her crew claim to be from Haven, and I think it's likely the next target. So, we're on our way to the headmaster. Haven't heard from him in a while, even before the attack. I'm hoping he has the answers.

Qrow: (groaning) Alright, I think it's time you kids got some sleep.

Ruby: Uncle Qrow?

Qrow: Yeah?

Ruby: (standing) This is a lot to take in, and it all sounds crazy, but... I'm willing to do whatever I can to help because I trust you. But why couldn't you trust me? Why couldn't you just travel with us, instead of this secrecy, and, and--

Qrow: Look, this has nothing to do with trust. I-- It's a long story, okay?

Y/n: It's his semblance it's not something he does it's always there. He brings misfortune or you can call it bad luck. It's good in a fight but dangerous around friends and family. That's why he wanted you guys to stay out of the fight.

Jaune: Well, you are just a real bundle of help, aren't you?

Ruby and Nora turn to glare at Jaune.

Qrow: Yeah.

He walks away from the campfire, slowly.

Ren: Where are you going?

Qrow: Taking a walk.

Ruby: There's nothing else you want to tell us?

Qrow: Not tonight.

He walks off.

Y/n: I'm surprised Sapphire slept through all that.

Ruby: Must be a heavy sleeper.

Y/n: Umm guys I'm uh poisoned.

Ruby: Why didn't you say something?

Y/n: I didn't want to worry you guys.

Nora: We should get going now then.

Y/n: No. You guys need your strength for what's coming tomorrow.

Ruby: What's coming?

Y/n: Ren and Nora knows what it is. You guys took it out just fine without Qrow since he was the one poisoned. But don't think just because he is fine and able to help you doesn't mean you can get cocky.

Ruby: Ok

Y/n: We should get some sleep.

We go to sleep I was sleeping next to the fire slowly absorbing it.

Timeskip

We all got up Qrow was with us and I felt like shit.

Ren: We should probably get moving.

Jaune: Yeah yeah.

Sapphire: Dada.

They look at me with a visibly purple bandage. Soon after I was in a coughing fit.

Ruby: Y/n!

Y/n: I can still walk.

Ruby: We're carrying you.

Qrow: Yeah you took a hit for me pipsqueak it's the least I can do.

Y/n: Fine.

They get the stretcher and lay me on it. Qrow and Jaune started carrying me down the path. While Ruby carried Sapphire. We get down the path a bit and I was trying to stay awake.

Ruby's pov

We get down the path and we hit a fork in the path.

Nora: Hey Mistral we're on the right path.

Ruby: Y/n we're almost there. Y/n?

Y/n: I'm sorry poppa I'm so sorry.

Qrow: He's getting worse kiddo.

Ruby: Does it say how far?

Ren: No. And it looks like the path takes us up the mountain.

Ruby: What about this place? Kuro... Kuroyuri maybe we can find help there.

Ren: That village was destroyed years ago.

Jaune: But if it takes us around the mountains, it's the best bet we've got.

Ren: (sternly) It will take too long.

Ruby: The town would have had a doctor, right? Maybe we could scavenge for medicine!

Jaune: Right!

Ren: (closing his eyes, lowering his head and shaking it) We're not going to find anything! We just have to press on!

Qrow: Ok then we split up You two go through the mountains while we go to the village to scavenge for any kind of supplies. If they make it to Mistral they can bring help.

Jaune: Take care of each other.

Nora: We always have.

We split up going down our separate paths.

Ruby: They are gonna be fine Jaune.

Jaune: You don't know that.

Timeskip Y/n pov

My heads pounding I hear screeching I open my eyes to see I'm leaning up against a building with Sapphire leaning on me scared.

Y/n: It's... alright... Sapphire.

Soon the screeching stopped and I heard engines in the distance. I saw Ruby up to me.

Y/n: Good job... I hear engines.

I lose consciousness soon after and I wake up in a room with Ruby at a desk writing something.

Y/n: Hey where's Sapphire?

I look down and see her sleeping on my lap.

Y/n: Nevermind.
