It's been a few days since their date and Jaune unlocking I'm guessing his semblance. I'm still sore from that arrow in the back. At least I know how Barry Allen felt when he trained with the Arrow. Qrow should be back soon with any huntsman that are willing to help which there isn't because they're all dead. I'm currently in mine and Ruby's room looking at the ring I got her.

I just need to ask Yang when she gets here to see if Ruby will like it. I put the box in my pocket and head downstairs to help cook. When I get in there Ruby is trying at least, Ren is keeping an eye on what she's doing to keep it from burning while working on his own food he's preparing. Nora of course is trying to eat some of the ingredients, while Jessie and Jaune were setting the table.

Y/n: Need some help. Nora please don't eat the ingredients they won't taste as good as if they were cooked.

Ren: Yes.

Nora sheepishly backed away from the ingredients. As I get behind Ruby to see how she's doing.

Ren: Alright the first batch is almost done.

Ruby: Awesome.

Y/n: You're going to burn that.

Ruby: I am not.

Y/n: Sadly Qrow won't be finding any huntsmen.

Ruby: WHAT?! So we making all this food for no reason.

Y/n: Nope.

Qrow at the door: I'm back.

Ruby: Be right there.

Ren: Y/n's right you're going to overcook that.

Ruby: And I won't like I said.

Qrow: Hey, uh, Ruby?

Ruby: I'm coming!

The food she was cooking made comical poof and smoke came out.

Ruby: Fine you take over Y/n.

She goes and grabs the tea and I start working on the food.

Ruby's Pov

I was walking into the living room with the tea in hand.

Ruby: So uh Y/n told us at the last second that you weren't going to find anyone, so we cooked everything.

When I looked at the door I saw Yang and Weiss I was shocked I dropped the tea and the pot breaks.

Ruby: Yang, I... I'm so sorry! I-I should've stayed, and I should've talked to you more! I'd - I just...

I felt tears coming down my face.

Ruby: I wasn't sure if you wanted me around and-

She hugged me before I could finish.

Yang: I love you.

I put my head into her shoulder.

Ruby: I love you too.

Y/n's Pov

I walked in the room with everyone else to see Ruby and Yang hugging it out. Oscar came in with Sapphire. I noticed Weiss had tears in her eyes as she tried to wipe some out of her eyes. Ruby and Yang opened up.

Ruby: Weiss.

Weiss went in to the hug but it seems there was still room.

Yang: Y/n you too.

I get in the hug as well.

Mini timeskip

We were sitting and and eating after Weiss got cleaned up. We were all telling each other our journeys.

Yang: How do lose your map at a time like that?

Jaune: Believe me I ask myself that question many times since.

Yang, Ruby, and Weiss laughed from that, while Jaune giggles sheepishly.

Jessie: I'm sure you tried to find it afterwards.

Y/n: I think I had it but I lost it when that building fell on me.

Nora: Well he definitely made up for it, Mister Muscles! You shoulda seen this guy take a giant Grimm head on!

Jaune: I couldn't have done it without Ruby wearing it down.

Ruby: Uh, me? Did you see Ren  during that fight? He was out of control!

Ren: I'm sorry, I may have lost my temper momentarily.

Ruby: No, no! Out of control as in "awesome"!

Ren: Oooohhh. Thank you.

Everyone at the table bursts into laughter. Weiss was retelling the tale of what happened at the party. I heard crying while she was talking.

Y/n: Excuse me.

I get up.

Ruby: Where are you going Y/n?

Y/n: Sapphire us crying.

Ruby: Want me to come with?

Y/n: No you listen to the story. I can handle it.

I started walking over to our room.

Ruby's Pov

I was waiting for Weiss to start her story back up, but Weiss and Yang were staring at me. Yang had a fiery look in her eyes like when she's mad.

Ruby: What? Something on my face?

Weiss: Who's Sapphire?

Ruby: I knew Jaune was forgetting something. She is um... mine and Y/n's daughter.

Weiss: Oh congratulations.

Ruby: For what?

Weiss: For having a baby.

Ruby: Oh I didn't get pregnant we found her.

Yang's look faded and Weiss looked at me with some concern.

Yang: What do you mean found?

Ruby: Y/n heard crying when we reached Shion. The whole place was destroyed because of bandits and grimm. After the huntsman died he started hearing her.

Y/n came back and sat next to me with Sapphire in his arms.

Y/n: She apparently misses her mom.

He passes her to me.

Ruby: I was just telling them how we found her.

Y/n: I heard. So after I found her and set up camp she called Ruby "mommy".

Ruby: After that I thought we should keep her since she thought I was her mother.

Yang: Ruby you are to young to be a mother.

Ruby: I know but she has no one other then us.

Yang: Fine looks like I'm going to be a aunt.

Ruby: You want to hold her?

Yang: Uhh sure.

Ruby hands Sapphire over to Yang as well as maneuver her arms to hold her comfortably. Yang slowly started to bounce her and she yawned and nuzzled into her arms and breasts.

Weiss: Aw she is so cute.

Ruby: She is adorable.

Y/n: If you lightly tickle her stomach she'll fall back asleep.

Weiss started to do just that. Sapphire slightly shifted but it was enough for her tail to wrap around her arm. I could tell Weiss was squealing in her head mentally about cute she is.

Timeskip after I put Sapphire back to bed.

Yang: So who exactly is she?

Yang was pointing at Jessie.

Weiss: I was wondering that myself.

Jessie: I'm Jessie. I'm apparently Y/n's younger sister.

Weiss: You don't look anything alike.

Y/n: Same father different mothers.

Being the brother I should be I decided to tease her a bit.

Y/n: And she has a crush.

I saw her blush shaking her head no.

Yang: Oh who is it?

Y/n: Jaune.

Weiss: Really him.

Jessie: Yyyyyy/nnnnn.

She playfully punches my shoulder. I also saw Jaune blush a bit.

Jaune: Uh we ate it all.

He was picking up all the pots and plates.

Jaune: I think I'm gonna be sick.

Yang: Easy there, vomit boy, I believe in you.

Jaune:(Sarcastic) Oh we're doing nickname throwbacks now. Wonderful.

He walks out of the room with the dishes. While Weiss was giggling at the old name.

Nora: It seems, the Ice Queen likes it.

Weiss stops giggling and me and start laughing. Weiss crosses her arms and looks snooty.

Weiss: I so did not miss you guys.

Nora: (gasps) Oh my gosh, she really does like it! What went and warmed your heart while you were gone?

Weiss: Hey! You make it sound like I used to be terrible.

Yang: Nah. Just a lot to deal with it once.

Y/n: That is somewhat true.

Weiss: Hmph!

Yang playfully sticks her tongue out at Weiss.

Ren: It's been a long time. We've all grown in our own ways.

Ruby: You really think so?

Ren: Well, think back to when we were all at Beacon, would you say you ever did anything foolish or embarrassing? Or do you think you were perfect?

Weiss: Oh gosh. (she buries her face in her hands again)

Yang: I may have been a little too gung-ho from time to time.

Ruby: Heh, you? I tried to 1v1 a Nevermore on the second day of school.

Jaune: (walking back into the room) Yeah, well... don't even get me started.

Ren: Well that embarrassment - that desire to go back and tell yourself not to be so stupid - that just proves you're not the same person you used to be. You're smarter, you're kinder, you're stronger, and you're not done growing yet. None of us are.

There is silence for a brief moment.

Ruby: Yeah, turns out Ren gets real deep when he feels like talking.

Everyone giggles.

Nora: Well, hold on, I thought I was pretty great in school!

Yang: Even at the dance? When you spilled punch all over yourself in front of--

Nora: Yes, especially the dance! Thank you, Yang!

She started playing shine over her scroll. While Qrow and Oscar walk up.

Qrow: How can eight teenagers make so much noise?

Y/n: Well we are teenagers we get loud at times.

Timeskip after Ozpin and Qrow fill in Weiss and Yang.

Weiss: So, the Maidens. Magic. Salem. It's all true?

Qrow: Uh-huh.

Ozpin: Miss Xiao Long, is this more or less what your mother told you?

Yang doesn't respond, still having her arms crossed. Weiss answers for her.

Weiss: For the most part.

Yang: You forgot something. You forgot to tell everyone what you did to Qrow and my mother.

Jaune: What is she talking about?

Qrow: Oh, great.

Ozpin: Hm, that's not a secret I thought she would give up so easily. Your mother must trust you a great deal.

Yang scowls at him.

Ozpin: My ability to reincarnate, though a curse, isn't without a few key benefits. Much like the Maidens, I too possess a certain... "magical" power. (he stands up and walks next to Qrow) Using this power, I was able to gift the Branwen twins the ability to "see" more, to move freely and be unburdened by their natural bodies. I... well... gave them the ability to turn into birds. (chuckles) Rather ridiculous sounding out loud, isn't it?

Y/n: And gave my dear old dad the ability to travel to another world.

Ruby: Uncle?

Ren: You turned them... into birds.

Nora: Alright, now you're just messing with us.

Jaune: (angry) What else is new?

Weiss: He's telling the truth. We saw it. Yang's mom... changed, right in front of us.

Yang: (to Ozpin) Why would you do something like that? I mean, what is wrong with you?

Qrow: Yang, that's enough! We made a choice. We wanted this.

Yang relents.

Ozpin: (to Qrow) May I? (Qrow nods) Granting this power to them was no trivial task, and I can assure you it was not done frivolously. I required assistance in gathering information on Salem's plans, as well as searching for Maidens when their hosts became unclear.

Ruby: Okay, so, have you done this with others? Like General Ironwood? Or Professor Goodwitch?

Ozpin: As helpful as that might be, unfortunately, it is not that simple. My power is finite, and if I'm being honest, dwindling. The amount that I gifted to Qrow and Raven was, all things considered, rather miniscule. You see, centuries ago, I sacrificed a great deal of magical power to four women, who I hoped would use my gift for good. They were the first Maidens. Miss Xiao Long, it was never my intention to lie to you. To any of you. There are just some matters that I prefer to... "play close to the chest". (looking to Qrow) I believe that's how you phrased it?

Qrow: (chuckles) Yeah.

Ozpin: Everyone has a choice. The Branwens chose to accept their powers and the responsibilities that came with them. And later, one of them chose to abandon her duties in favor of her own self-interest. Now, all of you have a choice. If anyone wishes to leave, now is the time. There's no shame or disgrace in abstaining, only in retreat.

Everyone is silent as they ponder Ozpin's words.

Ozpin: Very well, then.

Yang suddenly stands up.

Ruby: Yang?

Yang: If Ruby sticks around, then I will too. If there's one thing I know about her, it's that she somehow always knows the right thing to do. (she smiles at Ruby after saying that) But, if we're going to help, if we're going to keep risking our lives, no more lies. No more half-truths.

Everyone remains silent. Ozpin and Qrow exchange a brief look with each other. Ozpin ponders Yang's words for one last moment, before responding.

Ozpin: (smiling) Understood.

Yang sits back down.

Jaune: So... what now? I mean, what can we do?

Ozpin: Mm, that is a difficult question. One that I believe is best answered tomorrow.

Jaune: What do you mean?

Y/n: He means everything is going to get harder from now on.

Ozpin: Yes, the road ahead is undoubtedly filled with hardships and peril. However, it's been far too long since you have all been together. (he puts his hand on Yang's shoulder) Please, take tonight, enjoy this moment. (Yang smiles)

Suddenly Oscar's eyes glow, with Ozpin giving him control back to his body. Oscar realizes he has his hand on Yang's shoulder

Oscar: Geh! (quickly takes it off and nervously holds his cane in his hand.)

Yang and Weiss laugh at him, before hearing a noise from Nora.

Nora: (suddenly realizing) Oooohhh. Raven? Qrow? They're birds!! Cracked it!

Ren shakes his head at Nora being slow on the uptake as I chuckle at her.

Ruby: Yes.

Bacca: I can't think of what to put her so why not a joke. Why did the chicken cross the road?

Ruby: Why?

Bacca: To get to the idiots house. Knock knock.

Ruby: Who's there?

Bacca: The chicken.

Ruby starts giggling.
