I was out looking around Mistral staying away from the lower levels since Sapphire was with me and she was just looking at the stores and people. Everyone else was at Haven to meet that fucking traitor.

Sapphire: Dada.

I look at her and see her pointing at a white dog plush.

Y/n: You want the doggy?

Sapphire: Dada.

Y/n: I take that as a yes.

We go in I pay for it and leave. We started walking down the paths again a bit till I noticed a familiar face that I didn't expect to see again.

Y/n: Jessie?

Jessie: Huh? 

I walked up to her.

Jessie: Oh hey Y/n. And who is this little cutie?

She was tickling Sapphire which caused her to giggle.

Y/n: This is Sapphire.

Sapphire: Saphy.

Jessie: I didn't know you and Ruby had a kid.

Y/n: Oh we found... her... 

That raised a red flag when she said Ruby's name.

Y/n: I don't recall telling you who my girlfriend is.

She tensed up from that. She was about to run but I grabbed her wrist and made a portal to the place we are staying. I toss her on the couch as soon as I did that everyone minus Qrow came back. I put Sapphire on the ground to play with her new toy.

Ruby: Who's this, Y/n?

Y/n: This is Jessie I met her back in Vale.

Nora: What's she doing here?

Y/n: She raised a red flag when she said Ruby's name. (to Jessie) Now how do you know about Ruby?

Jessie: You wouldn't believe me?

Y/n: Try us.

Jessie: I'm uh not from Remnant.

We all went wide eyed when she said this. All I can think was that I have a sister.

Ruby: Could you tell us how you uh know about Remnant and how you got here?

Jessie: I guess, I know about Remnant cause my friend showed me this show at school. As for how I got here I uh was in my room wanting to be anywhere but there then some weird portal appeared so I grabbed my dad's phone and hunting rifle and I go through. I noticed I was in Vale and I met you Y/n a little while later. 

Y/n: Do you know who your dad was?

Jessie: I don't know, mom said before she left us I was someone else's kid that he had silver eyes. And that's when the abuse got worse.

Y/n: I have a sister.

I rushed her into a hug.

Jessie: What are talking about?

Y/n: We have the same father. He came from Remnant.

I told her about my biological family telling her mom was drunk when they had me. Me putting the pieces together to find out who dad was.

Jessie: I have brother, but how are you a faunus?

I told them about dad's heritage and why I have silver eyes and the wolf features.

Ren: So you weren't a faunus before?

Y/n: Right. Thought that was a given when I said earth has no faunus.

Jaune: Any other secrets you're keeping from us?

Y/n: Hmmm. No, well not that I can think or that are mine to spill. Now if you excuse us-

I get off the couch with Jessie pulling her with me.

Y/n: I want to find out more about my newly found sister.

I bring her up the stairs and take her into one of the extra bedrooms. 

Y/n: This will be your room, Jessie.

Jessie: I don't want to be a burden to you guys.

Y/n: Listen I already lost a sister and my mom. I don't have any family left, from what you said that your biological dad having silver eyes. I... don't want to lose any more family.

Jessie: I just don't want to get involved.

Y/n: When I first got here, I thought I can make a difference, actually do some good instead of wasting my life pretending and playing games. When I saw my chance to jump in and be a good guy I took it, it made my life fun, exciting, and most importantly I was happy even if it's a little dangerous. 

Jessie: I guess you're right, this could be my second chance at life. But I don't know what will happen next. I only got to volume four, before my dad's phone died.

Y/n: It's ok things will be a surprise for you. Now about your dad, you said that's when the abuse got worse.

She didn't say anything she just walked to the bed and sat down and put rifle and bag down next to the bed. I go over and sit next to her.

Y/n: If you don't want to talk about it, we don't have to.

Jessie: It's ok, bonds are built on trust right? My dad knew mom drank and cheated on him. When I was born he just neglected me. At the age of five he would beat me but it was rare mostly because mom wasn't around. When mom left I was nine and he would beat me everyday, sometimes to an inch of my life. He made me do everything when mom left, it was hell. I dealt with that for six years. When I saw that portal I just grabbed what I could and just ran. 

She was starting to cry so I started hugging her to try and calm her.

Jessie: When I first got here I was terrified. I didn't know where I was, I thought I was still on earth, but as soon as I saw faunuses I knew where I was.

Y/n: So how did you survive?

Jessie: Remember the shopkeeper in the first episode?

Y/n: Yes.

Jessie: He found me and took me in. He even let me work at his store.

Y/n: Well that seems quite lucky for you. You doing good now?

Jessie: Yeah I'll be good in a bit, you can go.

Y/n: You sure?

Jessie: Yes I'm just going to sleep, it's been a while since I slept in a bed.

Y/n: Ok. Have a good sleep.

I get up and leave the room turning the light out before I close the door. When I do I bump into Ruby. 

Y/n: You heard all that didn't you?

Ruby: Ummm... Yes I'm sorry.

Y/n: Don't be.

Ruby: Wh-

I didn't get to hear her finish cause I get dragged and pushed into another room. The door was slammed closed and I try to open it but it wouldn't budge. I started to hear others on the other side.

Ruby: What the heck, Nora?

Nora: Him and Jaune need to work out their differences and make up.

When I heard that I looked around. I saw Jaune out on the balcony just looking out. I guess I should try. I head over to sliding door and slid it open he didn't budge.

Jaune: What is it Ren?

Y/n: I'm not Ren.

Jaune: What are you doing here?

Y/n: You do know I did think of everything I could have done.

Jaune: Then why didn't you do something?!

Y/n: Because the only option was for me to be the one to die up there!

This made him quiet.

Y/n: It was the only option. But my death wouldn't have meaning.

Jaune: What do you mean?

Y/n: I don't only control fire it also heals me... even after death.

Jaune: So you can't die, then why didn't you do it?

I lean against the railing.

Y/n: If you think that I was scared of dieing again. You're wrong. My death would be meaningless cause Ruby would just bring me back and we wouldn't go after the people responsible for Beacon. They would win, they would kill everyone we care about. If you think I didn't care you're wrong. I do care, I care about all of you guys. I still have nightmares about the guilt. If I could change the past I would there's so much I would change. But that would just be selfish of me having a perfect ending. Not everyone gets a happy ending look at me and my life. A human turned faunus, practical an orphan, my sister is dead, I basically lost my old life, and I killed my own grandfather, even by accident I still did it. 

Jaune: But you have Ruby, Sapphire and a new sister.

Y/n: They keep me together. On the inside I am so fucking shattered I lost everything, who wouldn't be shattered?

I just stared out over the balcony till I felt a hand on my shoulder.

Jaune: I guess I've been an ass. You may have let it happen but you were just doing what you thought was right. You been through so much then us too. So I forgive you man.

Y/n: Thanks Jaune.

Jaune: At least try to stop one of us from dieing.

Y/n: I can't really keep that.

He just glared at me.

Jaune: Why?

Y/n: We are reaching the end of the future events I know.

Jaune: But will you keep it till then.

Y/n: Of course man.

We did a bro hug and I head back to the door and it actually opened. Jaune followed behind as we went downstairs I only noticed Ren and Nora. It looked like they were being a bit lovey dovey before we came down.

Y/n: Where's Ruby, Sapphire, and Jessie?

Ren: Ruby is in her room, Sapphire is with Jessie in her room.

Y/n: Thanks Ren.

I head back upstairs and walk in mine and Ruby's room. I see her reading on the bed. I walk up to her and tap her on the shoulder which she looked up to see me.

Ruby: So did you and Jaune make up?

Y/n: Yes. Soooo whatcha reading?

Ruby: Oh um nothing much.

Y/n: So you won't mind me reading it.

I quickly grab the book and read the title my eyes went wide when I saw it.

Y/n: Ninjas of Love, when and where did you find it?

Ruby: Umm, back at Beacon I found it under Blake's pillow.

I smirk as thought of fun idea.

Y/n: Maybe we can do some of scenes it describes.

I start kissing her and it started going into a full make out session. I push her down on the bed and I grabbed her butt and slightly groped it causing her to moan into the kiss. Before we could continue we heard Qrow and a loud thud. 

Y/n: Ughh really now. Come on lets see what's going on.

She reluctantly got up and we barely went down the stairs. Jessie was coming down as well.

Ruby: What's going on down here? Can't a girl have fun with her boyfriend in peace? 

Jessie: Did you get drunk again Qrow? 

Qrow: Maybe...

Oscar: Oh...

Everyone turns their attention to the doorway. 

Oscar: You... have silver eyes.

Ruby: Who... are you?

Oscar: Well... My name is Oscar Pines.

Qrow: Wait for it...

Oscar: But you probably know me as... Prof. Ozpin.

Everyone just stares at him in disbelief except me.

Qrow: *laughing* I did it.

And he fell off the couch on the floor.

Timeskip 

Everyone crowds around Oscar asking questions.

Nora: Did he age backwards?

Jaune: He's possessed!

Ren: Or reincarnated!

Ruby: Oh! Isn't it weird?

Jessie: Yeah, I don't even know what's going on.

Oscar: It is very weird, yes.

Qrow: Okay, okay.

Qrow emerges from the kitchen holding a cup in his hand.

Qrow: Let's all just take a second and remember that this is very overwhelming for everyone.

Everyone takes a step back well except for me. I'm sitting on the couch bouncing Sapphire on my knee.

Oscar: Thanks.

Qrow then takes a seat on the couch next to Oscar. Ruby and Nora have taken a seat next to me on the couch perpendicular to Qrow's, while Jaune and Ren remain standing. Oscar then shares a brief look with Ruby, who giggles, causing Oscar to blush.

Oscar: Ah, sorry! (he briefly looks away) It's just I've never really met Huntsmen and Huntresses before.

Y/n: Don't try anything she's my girlfriend.

Ruby: Well, uh... we've never met a person with two souls! So, first times all around.

Oscar smiles and chuckles at Ruby before he hears Qrow clear his throat.

Qrow: Not to break up the whole 'getting-to-know-you' game, but we need to have a talk. Mind showing us your little parlor trick, kid?

Oscar: (groans) Yeah, okay. Just so you know, I'll still be here.

The members of Team RNJR and Jessie look at him in confusion. Oscar then lowers his head and closes his eyes. Suddenly, a green and white aura shines from his body for a moment, Oscar opens up his eyes, which are now glowing, and he smiles. When he speaks, they all hear a familiar voice overlapping with a bunch of other voices, including Oscar's.

Ozpin: It is so very good to see you again, students.

Y/n: Good to see you Oz.

Jaune: Wait, what just happened?

Ren: Professor... Ozpin?

Ozpin: Correct. And though I may be the one speaking, Oscar is still present mentally. He's merely handed over the control, so to speak. I'm afraid this all must be very perplexing.

Nora: And alarming, and bizarre, and just really kind of hard to believe overall!

Ozpin: (chuckling) It's good to see you children still have your sense of humor. (he starts to frown) I know you've all been through tremendous hardship already. I'm sorry.

Ruby: I mean, it's not your fault.

Ozpin: It's all my fault.

As he continues to speak, Qrow gets up and goes back to the kitchen to get something.

Ozpin: I told you once that I made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet, and I wasn't exaggerating. I'm... cursed. For thousands of years, I've walked the surface of Remnant, living, dying, and reincarnating in the body of a like-minded soul. The Professor Ozpin you all met was not my first form and clearly wasn't my last. It's... an extraordinarily strenuous process on everyone involved.

Jaune: So who... what... are you?

Ozpin: I am the combination of countless men who've spent their lives trying to protect the people of Remnant.

Qrow walks back into the room and hands him a cup of tea.

Ozpin: With every rebirth, my soul is eventually merged with another and I am changed, but my memories stay with me. This curse was bestowed upon me by the gods because I failed to stop Salem in the past. But we must stop her now.

Ruby: And how do we do that?

Ozpin: We start... by ensuring the safety of the Relic of Knowledge.

Jessie: So where exactly is that?

Y/n: In the vault under Haven. Which only the Spring Maiden can open.

Nora: This is perfect! We were stuck at a dead end, but now, we can just take little cute boy Ozpin to Lionheart and have him set things straight!

Ozpin: Please don't call me that.

Qrow: We're not sure that's the best idea.

Nora pouts and groans and goes back to sit down next to Ruby and Ren.

Ren: But I thought the headmasters all took their orders from you.

Ozpin: That was the intention. Four lieutenants I can trust, especially during times of reincarnation. But Qrow told me about your meeting with Leonardo. (he gets up and walks towards a painting of Mistral) He isn't just behaving irrationally, he's disobeying specific instructions I had left him. Something's wrong. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I don't want to rule out any possibilities, either. No one outside of this room knows that I've paired with Oscar, and I think it may be best to keep it that way.

Qrow: Play things close to the chest until we get a better hand.

Ozpin: Precisely. Now, we have two steps ahead of us. (he turns around to face the rest of the group) The first is enlisting the aid of more Huntsmen.

Ren: But the Mistral council--

Qrow: Doesn't own every Huntsman in the Kingdom, and I've been here enough times to know where we can find some more.

Ozpin: So long as they're trustworthy.

Qrow: You can trust them to put up a good fight. I'll throw together a list tonight.

Qrow puts his foot on the table, but his Semblance causes one of the legs to break and spill his cup of tea.

Nora: Good luck with that.

Qrow groans as he cleans up his mess.

Ozpin: After that, we can move on to step two.

Nora: What's step two?

Suddenly, Ozpin has his cane in hand.

Ozpin: Getting you four into fighting shape.

Team RNJR once again exchange looks of confusion.

Ruby: But, uh, we already know how to fight.

Ozpin: (points to Ruby) You can only fight so long as you have Crescent Rose, but you're still lacking in hand-to-hand combat.

Ruby: Well, uh, yeah.

Ozpin: (pointing to Jaune) Mr. Arc, I'm glad to hear you've improved, but sorry to say, you've yet to unlock your Semblance.

Y/n: I can help Jaune... unlock whatever it is he does. I don't know if it's his semblance or something else entirely.

Ozpin: (points to me) You still need a lot of improvement with your weapon as well. All of you still have a-ways to go before you're ready to pose any real threat against Salem and her forces. And though Oscar can give me temporary control, he'll need to strengthen his body and his Aura. He'll inherit my muscle memory in time, but practice will expedite the process.

Ruby: But if Qrow's out looking for Huntsmen, then who's going to teach us?

Ozpin then propels himself into the air with his cane, spinning counterclockwise into a barrel roll before landing onto the seat of the armchair, twirling his cane.

Ozpin: Well, I believe I was the headmaster of Beacon Academy.

All of Team RNJR have various looks on their faces.

Ozpin: We have approximately one month before classes resume at Haven. If Salem were to plan an attack, it would make sense that it would occur prior to students' return. It's not much time, but it's better than nothing. (he stops twirling his cane) Just don't expect me to go easy on you.

Suddenly, he glows green and white again, switching control back to Oscar. He has a hard time keeping his balance on the armchair before falling backwards.

Oscar: (groans) You've gotta be kidding me.

I help him up while Ren sits the chair back up.

Oscar: Thanks.

Y/n: No problem.
