The next morning, within a few more minutes, we could hear the iconic sound of the 'ding dong' of Monokuma's morning announcement, making most of us groan in annoyance. 

"Good morning, you little brats. I hope you all slept like shit." That was all he said on the speakers before they shut off. Kokichi chuckled slightly as he sat up. "Heh, seems like he's still salty about yesterday. Nee-heehee~" he said in an amused tone. 

"He was practically asking for it after all the shit he's done to us." Magane said, standing up and stretching her arm. "Well, perhaps we should get some breakfast, and then we can figure out what to do next." Kanato said. I shook my head. "Hmm? Do you not want to do that, Lilac?" Crona asked.

"Violet and Ulric." I replied. Everyone just stared at me puzzled, but I pointed to the ceiling. Magane sighed, placing a hand on her forehead. "Kay, you'll have to give us more to work with, kid." she said. "Oh wait, come to think of it....she hasn't made crosses for Ulric and Violet yet, has she?" Crona asked. That realization hit everyone hard. 

"Huh, I guess she hasn't....whelp," Kokichi said, standing up, "that won't do, will it?" he looked to me with a big grin. And I smiled. "Let's go make them together then." Kokichi stated. 

It was easy to convince everyone to do so. So the five of us went up to the second floor and together we made two white crosses for Ulric and Violet. Once they were done, we went into the garden and placed them in they're proper place with the other crosses.

I looked at all the crosses that scattered across the grass. Each one representing a friend we have lost....11 friends...my sister included. Either falling victim to the hands of a murderer, or being punished for bloodying their hands. It's horrible....I refuse to let anymore happen.

"Lilac...." Kanato placed a hand on my shoulder. That's when I noticed the wetness on my cheeks. I quickly wiped my tears, and gave a sad smile to him, reassuring him I was okay. 

"We'll get outta here. For their sakes. Yakusoku." Kanato stated. I nodded. "Well, we're not gonna get out of here on an empty stomach. Let's head back down to the cafeteria to get some food." Kokichi said. "Yeah, I'm starving!" she stated. We all giggled and started to head down to the first floor. I was smiling widely as we we descended down the stairs. However, once I got to the bottom of the stairs, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked over, to see Crona smiling at me.

"Hey uh, Lilac, you think I could talk to you in private for a bit?" he asked. Magane looked to us. "Huh? What's up?" she asked. 

"Oh, sorry. I-I just wanted to talk to Lilac real quick. I-I hope that's okay..." Crona suddenly stuttered, rubbing his arm nervously. Kanato smiled. "If she doesn't have a problem with it, then it should be fine. Ne, Lilac?" he said. I looked to Crona and nodded. He smiled in relief.

"Thank you. We'll catch up with ya in a bit then. I just wanted to show Lilac something in my room." Crona said, looking to the others. "Well let's not take so long, I'm hungry too ya know." Ragnarok stated, popping out from behind Crona. "See ya guys in a bit then." Magane said. I waved as they walked down the hallway. However, suddenly heard a chuckle from behind me. I looked behind me, seeing Crona still smiling.

"A-Anyway, just come with me." he said, and began to walk down the opposite hallway. I nodded and followed him down the hallway.

Kanato's P.O.V.

It took a little bit, but we managed to set up breakfast. This time we made curry with white rice. Not exactly a breakfast meal, but Kokichi wouldn't stop whining about it. So Magane and I complied into making it. And it honestly smelled quite nice. 

"Man, I can't wait to dig in!" Kokichi said, licking his lips as he stared at the pot. "Me either. We just gotta wait for Crona and Lilac to come back." Magane replied. That's when it kinda hit me. Those two have been gone for a little bit. We've been cooking for at least ten minutes. Perhaps that's just me being paranoid, but something suddenly felt off. "Haven't they been gone for awhile?" I asked.

Magane and Kokichi both paused, looking up in thought. "Come to think of it, yeah, they've been gone for a little bit. Wonder what they're doing." Magane said. "....I think I'm gonna fetch them. Crona said they'd be in his room, yes? I'll be right back." Kanato said, walking out of the kitchen. "Watch out for Monokuma! He's not to be trusted!" Kokichi called. 

I left the cafeteria and walked down to the cafeteria. For some reason, I felt conflicted. Maybe I shouldn't have left Lilac alone like that. Violet trusted me to watch over her after all. But she wasn't alone, she was with Crona. There shouldn't be anything to worry about, right. "Geez, knock it off...." I muttered to myself, giving my head a slight shake. It felt like forever before I finally arrived to Crona's room. I gave a small knock and waited patiently.

"Lilac? Crona? You guys in there?" I asked. However there was no response. So again, I knocked.

"Hello?" Silence. This is when I felt the bad feeling in my stomach. I hesitated before grabbing onto the door knob, slowly turning it before pushing it open. However I was only welcomed with darkness. No Crona or Lilac. In fact the lights weren't even on. 

"Huh? What the....did they even come into this room?" I thought. One thing did catch my eye though. It was a tablet, laying on a drawer beside Crona's bed. I picked it up and examined it. It wasn't his Monopad. Could it be....his motive video tablet? No, that can't be. He said that he broke it, and the other one on the fifth floor was cracked. I decided to take it, and show it to Kokichi and Magane. So I rushed to the cafeteria as fast as I could. Something wasn't right at all. I have a very bad feeling about this.

I burst through the cafeteria doors, seeing Magane and Kokichi setting up the table. They both looked to me surprised when they saw me though. "Kanato? What's up?" Kokichi asked. "Something is wrong. Crona and Lilac aren't in his room. I didn't see them at all. Instead...."

"What the? What's that?" Magane asked. "I'm guessing this is Crona's motive video tablet." I said. Both of they're eyes widened. "What? That can't be right. Crona said he broke his, and the other one on the fifth floor was already destroyed. Are you sure that isn't his Monopad?" Kokichi asked. 

"I'm certain it isn't. What I don't get is, why would he lie about his motive video?" I said, looking down at the tablet. "....we won't know that's really his tablet until we turn it on." Magane stated. I blinked. I suppose that would clarify things, wouldn't it? "Alright then...." I turned it on, awaiting what was to come next. However....all I saw was this...

The sudden bright black and white swirls blinded my mind. I had no idea what to think. All I could think was my mind growing darker, until I only saw pitch black. However, soon a figure came before me. It was blurry at first, but after a few moments, it clarified....to someone I've never seen before. A slender woman, wearing a black dress. The only other thing I could make out were here yellow, snake like eyes, staring at me as if I was her prey.

"Oh my, you do not seem to be my child. No matter. I could always use the extra help," she smiled to me, "It's nice to meet you, young Kanato."

Her voice was laced with something....strange. Something bad, but also pleasant. Addictive almost. I didn't understand why, but that didn't matter. All I knew....was to follow her command. 

"Look around you, Kanato," I did as she said. Two other figures were approaching me, coming closer, "They are your enemies. Eliminate them." she said sternly. I nodded. 

"Yes....Lady Medusa."

Why do I know her name? No....that didn't matter. If I don't eliminate these enemies, she'll be unhappy. Before I knew it, I used one hand to reach out to one of the enemies, grabbing at their throat. However, suddenly I heard a cracking sound, and I gasped. As if I had suddenly be yanked away from a dream....or rather, a nightmare. 

"Kanato! Snap out of it!" Kokichi snapped. I looked to my hand....seeing I had it wrapped around Magane's throat. She stared at me with wide eyes, and it hit me. I was about to kill her. Frightened, I quickly released her and stumbled back, falling into one of the chairs. Teddy fell out of my arms and hit the floor, but I paid no attention to him. Instead, I had my hands on my head, baffled by my own actions. 

What....was I doing? I was about to kill one of my own friends.

I don't believe it....

"Kanato-kun?" I looked up at the two, who just stared at me. "G...G-Gomenasai. I-I don't understand what got into me...." I murmured. "I have a feeling it was whatever was on this video," Kokichi held up the black tablet, which was now cracked, "there was some sort of black and white swirl on it. You just stared at it, talking under your breath, then before we knew it you tried to attack Magane."

"Kanato, what did you see? Was it some sort of hypnotism?" Magane asked.

"I don't know....I saw a strange woman. She wore a black outfit, and had yellow snake like eyes. It was so bizarre. The moment she spoke to me....I felt like I was under some sort of trance..." I murmured. "You muttered some sort of name. Do you happen to remember it?" Magane asked. I closed my eyes, trying to remember. 

"I believe....it was Lady Medusa..." I said. Kokichi's eyes widened.

"Medusa?!" he said. I looked at him surprised. "Do you recognize that name?" I asked. Kokichi placed a hand on his chin, eyes narrowed. "I don't actually know her. But....when I was reading Crona's file, it had info about his abusive mom, and her name was Medusa." he said.

"What?! So then, the woman Kanato saw....could it have been Crona's mother?" Magane said. "It's possible. She is a witch, so....maybe she managed to slither her way into this game. Or at least use this video to hypnotize anyone who's watching it. Maybe....she's the true mastermind." Kokichi said. "But why would she do any of this?" Magane said. 

"Like hell if I know! I'm barely able to put any of this together as it is!" Kokichi snapped. My eyes widened.

"Guys....that's Crona's motive video. He watched it at the very beginning of this killing game. Which means he's under that woman's control." I said. "Beware the child with black inside....Crona bleeds black blood, doesn't he? You don't think..." Magane said.  "Maybe that's how Monokuma was able to find out everything without using cameras or audio recorders. Medusa uses him as her eyes." Kokichi said.

"Lilac....she's alone with him!" I shouted. 

That was all it took for us all to burst out of the cafeteria and bolt down the hallway. We didn't know where we were headed, we just had to find Lilac. 

"LILAC!!!" I called out down the hallway. Eventually we came upon the staircase leading to the second floor. "Let's check it out up there." Kokichi said. We all ran up there in a rush, pausing once we got to the top. 

"Buffooooon!" we all froze, and looked down the hallway. It was the Buffoon, staring at us and chuckling creepily. "What the- isn't that guy supposed to be on the third floor only?" Magane said. "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Crona knows we're onto him." Kokichi said. 

"BUFFOOOOOON!!!!" the Buffoon roared, then he began to laugh loudly as he thundered towards us. 

"RUN!!!" I shouted.

The three of us bolted in the opposite direction, trying to get as far away from that Buffoon as possible. I could practically feel the ground shake as we ran. And I felt goosebumps covered my body as I could hear the Buffoon's laughter become louder and louder. "What do we do? We can't run forever! It'll out run us!" I said. Suddenly Magane's face perked up, and she smiled.

"No it won't. You see how tiny its legs are? It'll never catch us." she stated. I looked at her shocked as we turned a corner, and glared at her. "Don't be a fool! It's definitely going to catch us-" suddenly she turned to it, and snapped her fingers. 

"A lie about a lie, it turns itself inside out on itself~"

Suddenly, the Buffoon's legs changed, and became the size of skinny pencils. The Buffoon's eyes widened and it cried out as it crashed onto the ground. Kokichi and I stared in shock. "What the hell-"

"I'll explain later, go!" Magane said, bolting past us. We nodded and ran after her, booking it to the next staircase. We ran up the stairs and paused at the top, panting hard. "What was that...you used....back there?" Kokichi panted out.

"Infinite Deception of Words. If anyone denies one of my lies, I can make come to truth with the snap of a finger." Magane said. "Is that so? Could you do anything?" Kanato asked. "Pretty much, as long as someone denies my lie. Although, I have my own moral limits. Such as bringing back the dead. I refuse to do anything like that, that's just wrong in more ways than one." Magane explained. 

"Uh-huh, fascinating. Thanks for the save. Now, what the hell do we do now?! Sure that Buffoon is down, but we don't know if Monokuma- er, Medusa, has more on stand by. We need to find Lilac, find this weird glowing lady, and get the fuck outta here!" Kokichi stated. "I know, I know! Calm down! Panicking isn't going to solve anything!" I snapped. I sighed, about to hug Teddy, until I realized I had dropped him in the cafeteria. I didn't get to grab him before we left.

"Kusoga..." I muttered.

"Kanato?" Magane said. "I'm fine. Let's just resume our search for Lilac. We have to find her." I stated.

"Oh, you guys don't have to worry your pretty heads about it~" we all gasped and looked down the hallway. Monokuma stood at the end of it. He was grinning wide, and holding Teddy in his arms. "I'm surprised you left such a cute girl like her in the hands of someone like Crona. Speaking of cuties, I think I'll keep this little Teddy." Monokuma replied, holding Teddy up.

"Damn you! Where's Lilac?! What did you do to her?!" I snapped. 

"Pufufufu, sorry, but you're asking the wrong fella." Monokuma replied.

"I can't believe you figured it all out so easily...." my eyes widened as Crona slowly walked next to Monokuma, appearing from around the corner. A shadow was cast over his eyes. "It's really bothersome, you know. The killing game was supposed to continue how it was. It wasn't supposed to end so abruptly. But Lady Medusa says your too close to the truth. So, things will have to end here." Crona replied.

"Crona listen, you have to snap outta this! You don't want this! You don't want anyone to die!" Magane said. "Yeah, you're the sappy, timid softy, aren't you? You don't have to follow that bitch's commands!" Kokichi stated. I tried to speak up. "Crona please, weren't we gonna get out of here together-"

"Uuuuuuuuuugggggghhhh, you're all so annoying! I can't deal with this!" Crona suddenly whined, bending his back in an arch. He groaned until his whole waist went in a circle. The three of us stared with wide eyes. He suddenly stood up straight. His eyes didn't look like before. They were much different....they had a strange look of madness and fear to them.

"That's okay though, you'll be dead soon. I'm sure dead people are easier to get along with." Crona murmured quietly, loosely swinging his arms from side to side. Then he suddenly began to chuckle darkly, with his eyes darting all over the room. "Yeesh, its like he's drunk...." Kokichi murmured. 

"Hehe, hey guys, I just realized something funny. You know...you know...everyone keeps saying this place is a living hellhole. But you know something, you where the real hell is...?"
