I slowly approached Ulric, looking down at him. He was completely still, showing no pain or emotion on his face. In some bizarre, twisted way, he looked peaceful. I knelt down beside him, eyes narrowing. I wanted to say something, anything to him. But all I could do was look upon him. I wish it didn't have to be this way. It's funny, if he ever got to escape with us....maybe we could've gone farther....be more than just friends...

"Violet?" Magane said, taking a step towards me. I sat there for another few seconds before standing up, and looking to the others.

"We shouldn't waste any time. We have to investigate." I said. "....Violet, do you really think that's necessary?" I looked to Kokichi, who had his hands placed at the back of his head. Not a bit of mischief or mockery was on his face, in fact he looked deadly serious.

"I don't know if you noticed, but there is poison on the table." I looked to the table, seeing there was indeed a bottle of poisonous pills on the table, even a few pills were spilled out. "But blood is dripping from his mouth. Pills couldn't have caused that, could it?" Crona said. "Sure they can. They can make him deadly sick, and cause him to cough up blood." Kokichi stated.

"That doesn't mean we shouldn't investigate. We need to make sure." I said. However, Kokichi slowly shook his head. "Violet, believe me...."

"Ulric commited suicide. There's no question about it. Trust me." Kokichi stated. 

"I'm afraid he might be right, Violet. I mean, I don't see why he wouldn't. You saw how he was when he found out about the In Between and when he was reminded of that girl he lost, Emily. He knew....there was no hope..." Kanato stated. "Yeah, honestly....I don't see how we can get out of here." Magane said. "But, if Ulric really did do this, why would we still be having a class trial?" I asked. 

"It's possibly a cruel reminder for us. Oh how hopeless things really are...." Crona murmured. "Ugh, this is getting us nowhere. Listen, maybe we should just leave and get ready for the trial. There's no point in doing an investigation." Ragnarok said. "Do you guys really think that's what Ulric would've wanted?" I said. Everyone froze, and looked at me. I placed a hand on my chest.

"We have to try for him. He wouldn't want us to give up, so we need to try. Not just for him. But for everyone who has died so far. Or all their deaths will be in vain." I stated. Lilac stood beside me, smiling and nodding. I smiled back at her. I'm glad I can at least count on my sister. I looked back to the others.

"I'm not going to give up. I'm going to investigate as best as I can, and discover the truth!" I stated. There was a moment of silence, and everyone looked among each other unsure. But, Magane eventually took a step forward. "I guess you're right. It wouldn't be right to just leave things like this." she stated. Kanato nodded in agreement. "He worked hard to keep us going. I suppose it would be a waste to stop now." he said.

"....even if we did decide to investigate, we always had Near lead our investigations. Where do we start without him around?" Crona asked. "Right here, at the crime scene. We have to try." Kanato stated. Kokichi frowned, and gave a sigh.

"This isn't worth your time, guys. I'm outta here," he turned to walk away, strolling out of the cafeteria, "Good luck. You'll need it." 

Nobody tried to stop him as he left. Magane sighed in frustration. "That guy...." she muttered. "Let's not waste any time. We should look around." Kanato said. I looked to the bottle on the table and approached it, taking it in my hands. "I guess this is as good of a start as any." I said. I looked at the bottle. My eyes widened upon looking at it. 

"What kind of poison is in that thing anyway?" Crona asked.  "It doesn't actually say its poison at all. In fact, these just look like normal sleeping pills." I said.

"Sleeping pills? Let me see." Kanato said. I handed the bottle to him, and he examined them. He narrowed his eyes as he read the label. "You're right. They are just sleeping pills." Kanato said. "But then, do sleeping pills cause someone to cough up blood?" Magane asked, her hand on her chin.

"I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't think so." I replied. "Makes me wonder what caused him to bleed in the first place...." Kanato murmured. He walked over to the corpse and knelt down to it to take a closer look. He reached out and gently grabbed Ulric's jaw, slowly opening it. Crona's eyes widened.

"W-What are you doing?" he said.

"Investigating. Mello and Near had no problems examining the bodies, and that often led to tremendous evidence. I can't just ignore that fact just because its a corpse. If we're going to solve this, we need to find out how he died." Kanato stated. "Speaking of....where's Monokuma with that damn Monopad?!" Magane snapped.

"Right here, missy!" we whirled around, seeing Monokuma right before us, Monopad in hand. 

"Sorry I'm late. It doesn't help you were all the way at the first floor." Monokuma replied. Magane growled and snatched it from his paws. "Shut up, furball! That's a load of BS!" she snapped. "Eeesh, grouchy. Okay, well anyone, as everyone has seen, the old pooch has kicked the bucket. Find out who killed him, yada yada, you get the point. I'll see you all at the class trial shortly." Monokuma replied. With that said, he disappeared. Magane rolled her eyes.

"Whatever. Anyway, as for this Monpad, let's see," she turned it on, and looked it over, "Victim was Ulric. Cause of death....unknown. Great. Okay, time of death....also unknown?" she read aloud. "What? That can't be. How can Monokuma not know the cause of death or the time? Is he trying to censor it again?" Crona asked.

"No, if he was doing that, he would have completely blurred out the words. These directly say unknown. Maybe....maybe he doesn't know who the culprit is." Magane said. 

"But how can that be? He has cameras everywhere in this place. He sees everything." I said. "Well, however Ulric died, he certainly did cough up blood. There is blood in his mouth." Kanato said. He closed Ulric's jaw, and gently traced his neck....until he froze. "What the...." he murmured.

"Kanato? What is it?" I asked. 

"This part here....that does not feel like fur." Kanato stated. I knelt beside him, and looked at where he was touching. It was hidden, but I could see it. On the side of Ulric's neck was an outline of a rectangle. "What is this...." I murmured. "If it's what it feels like," Kanato gently grabbed a corner of the rectangle, and peel it off, slowly revealing a wound, "I thought so, it's duct tape." 

"But why would there be duct tape on the side of his neck?" Magane said. "Well, it's covering a wound that's on his throat. It looks like the culprit stabbed his neck, and the covered his wound to make sure no one saw it." Kanato said. "And then they planted the sleeping pills on the table, making us believe Ulric did commit suicide." Crona said. 

"But then....why did Kokichi said it was poison on the table?" I said. "He never got to look at the bottle. It's possible he thought it really was poison." Kanato stated.

"Hey, can someone see why pinkie over there is under the table?" Ragnarok said. We looked over, seeing Lilac was crawling under the table, then she crawled back out. "Lilac, what are you doing?" I asked. Lilac looked to me and held out something. It was some sort of item. It was a bright pink sphere with a silver top. I took it from her and examined it. "What is this....you know, it kinda looks like..." 

"Oh shit! That looks like a grenade!" Magane exclaimed, taking multiple steps back. Crona and Kanato did the same, scrambling away. "Be careful with that thing! Or you'll kill us all!" Ragnarok stated. 

"Guys, calm down. It's not a normal grenade, it has a label on it. Listen, it says this is something called an Electro-bomb. When activated, it sends a wide magnetic field that disables all electrical appliances and equipment for two whole hours. But it doesn't hurt people." I said. That made everyone sigh in relief. "So we aren't going to blow up...." Ragnarok sighed.

"Hmm, by the looks of it, the pin was already pulled on this bomb. So it's already been used." I said. Kanato placed a hand on his chin. "I wonder....could that bomb been have used during this crime. Like, think of this, the culprit slides the bomb in here, and then kills Ulric." Magane said. "But why would they do that? What would be the purpose of using the Electro-bomb?" Crona asked.

"To turn off the surveillance cameras. That's why the time and cause of the death are unknown. They weren't just trying to hide it from us. They were trying to hide it from Monokuma as well." Kanato said. 

"B-But, if that's the case, then how the hell are we going to pin down the crime on just one person?! So far, we have theories on what a culprit would do, but we don't have any clues about who it could be." Magane said. "I'm not sure..." I murmured. Lilac looked to the entrance, and peeked her head out. Then she whistled to us, catching our attention. 

"What is it, Lilac?" I asked. She pointed to down the hallway. We all went out to the hallway to look at what had her attention, and my eyes widened. There was another Electro-bomb just down the hallway. I ran over and grabbed it, examining it. "It's another Electro-bomb. And it looks like it was used." I said. "Why is one used all the way out here?" Crona asked.

"I don't know," I looked farther up ahead, and saw another Electro-bomb in the distance, "but there's a third one up ahead." I said. 

"Let's follow them. It looks like they form a trail." Kanato stated. We took his suggestion and followed the trail down the hallway. We kept finding Electro-bombs along the way, and they all led all the way up to the third floor, in the roller coaster room....the room where we found Rin's body.

"They lead all the way here?" Magane said. "Look, over there." Crona said. We all glanced over....and saw a huge crate full of Electro-bombs. "Whoa, was someone storing them here?" I said.

"It's possible." Kanato said. "I don't understand. Why would they lead all the way here? And why is there even a whole path anyway?" Magane said. "I'm not sure." I said. I yawned loudly, rubbing at my eyes.

"You okay, Violet?" Magane asked. "I think so....I'm just tired. I didn't sleep good last night." I said. Truth was, I barely got any sleep at all. "I have a theory, but I don't know if it's true. It's possible that the culprit didn't want any to be caught in any way, not even by Monokuma. So...perhaps they stored Electro-bombs here, and used them as they walked to the cafeteria. And that's when they killed Ulric, covered his wound, and planted the sleeping pills on the table." Kanato explained.

"It's not a bad theory. I'm sure most of it is accurate. But there are some thing that bother me. How did Ulric end up in the cafeteria anyway? And what weapon was used to kill him if it wasn't the sleeping pills?" Magane said. 

"....maybe Ulric was lured out." we looked to Crona. He held a piece of paper in his hand, and held it out. 

"I found this on the floor, crumpled up." he said. I took it and opened it, reading it over. It was a note, and in black pen it said 'meet me on the third floor, in the roller coaster room'. 

"You really think Ulric just came up here without thinking it could be a trap?" Magane said. "No...I'm sure he was aware. I mean, if you take a look at the guy, he's bigger and stronger than any of us physically. He could probably defend himself just fine. But that raises the question....how could he have let himself be killed?" Kanato said. 

"And how did he even end up in the cafeteria if he was told to meet here? I wonder....could the culprit have dragged his body to the cafeteria. If they had the Electro-bombs, it's not like anyone would see him." Magane said. "But then there would be a blood trail. He was bleeding a lot." Kanato stated.

"Whoever the culprit is, why would they want to meet here of all places?" Crona said. "There's no cameras, remember? This is the only room without cameras." I said. "But it still has a voice recording thing, right? It recorded Junko and Amaimon's conversation before." Magane said.

"That wouldn't be a problem if they culprit used an Electro-bomb." Kanato stated. "Ugh, we're getting bits and pieces together, but its hard to picture just exactly what happened. So, the culprit wrote a note to Ulric to meet him here. Then what? If they didn't drag Ulric to the cafeteria, then how did his corpse end up there?!" Magane said. 

".....maybe he walked there." everyone looked at me confused.

"Beg pardon?" Kanato said.

"This wasn't any normal crime. This must've had a purpose. What if....the culprit had Ulric meet him here, and asked Ulric if he could kill him?" I said. ".....h-how could that be? Who in their right minds says yes to being killed?!" Crona said. 

"Think about it, the culprit wasn't just trying to hide this crime from us.....he also hiding it from Monokuma. If...if the culprit made sure no one knew who killed Ulric, or how, then Monokuma couldn't give a fair trial. How are we supposed to find the culprit if Monokuma didn't even know who they were? So that means he couldn't touch us. In fact....he might be forced to let us go home." I said. Everyone's eyes widened.

"What....but that's crazy?! Why would the culprit do something so insane and ridiculous, just for a chance?!" Kanato stated. 

"But then, that would mean.....they let Ulric in on this plan. That's why they would've asked if he could kill him. So that everyone else would be free. It'd be a sacrifice. And knowing Ulric....he'd definitely sacrifice himself for us...." Crona murmured.

"That would explain how he got to the cafeteria. He and the culprit walked to the cafeteria, using Electro-bombs along the way. That's when they killed Ulric. They must've used the sleeping pills to throw us all off and made us think Ulric commit suicide. And if this whole crazy thing was true....then Monokuma really couldn't give a fair trial, since he doesn't know who the culprit is, and he'd have to set us free. That was the culprit's plan." Magane said.

"Okay, so we just need to figure out who that culprit is." I said.

"....do we have to? I mean, if this whole thing works like they culprit wants it to...we'll be able to go home." Crona said.

"No, we can't do that. Maybe the culprit....had true intentions, and is trying to get us to escape. But if they're plan fails, or if Monokuma has another method of finding out who the culprit was, we're in trouble. We must gather all the facts. For instance, I'd like to know how the culprit even thought of the idea of the Electro-bombs, and where they got them." Kanato said. 

".....I've got a hunch. I'll be right back." Magane said, walking down the hallway. "Wait, where are you going?" Ragnarok called out. "I'll be right back. I just wanted to look into something real quick. Like I said, its only a hunch." Magane stated. With that said she ran off, heading into a different direction. I frowned.
