2018 Improvement comparison
Okay so this first one was for a Valentine's day art auction (Feb. 2018) that was effort based. I spent about 12-15 hours on it.
This second one is from the dragon hunt, which was held in August. I spent around 40 hours on it, I'd say.
And then this last one is art for a thing that's effort based, and I finished it in September. I spent well over 50 hours on this, for sure.
A lot of the improvement comes from my understanding of how my tablet and other functions work. But it's also using references (refs were used for all of these), learning how light affects shading and things. Composition, color schemes, perspective. How much time I spend on the art—it gets progressively better because I do spend more time putzing around and fixing proportions and angles and different things. They all come together to create the improvement.
You guys, you will never reach a point where you cannot get better at something. Keep working at it, and you will improve. There's always room to improve, so don't worry if stuff doesn't look great the first try around. It's a learning curve, and experience and knowledge comes with time.
Stay strong, lovelies. AKF.
