You cannot swim for new horizons

lose sight of the shore

Karina Arslan is bound by countless failures and regretfully wrong choices.

Unhappy with the path that she (and her parents) have decided for her future, she buys a one-way ticket to an island resort to find a moment's escape.

But things aren't what they seem once dusk settles into the night sky — a mysterious bridge, a lavender sun, silver bioluminescence, and a boy who couldn't be any more similar yet different at the same time.

Karina has made wrong decisions all her life...

so what's the harm in making a few more?

This is a story that I hold very close to my heart. It's probably the most honest & personal piece I'll ever write.

Also, this story will explore a bit of the toxic side to conservative/traditional south asian families (granted, not every household is like this). Please be mindful of the fact that different cultures have different belief systems and a majority of immigrant parents have... a very different mindset (this is obviously coming from personal experience). Feel free to question choices and be frustrated at what's happening, but don't shit on anyone or be racist.
