Zed POV

My surroundings immediately went dark as the trees covered the only light source but I had to work with it so the wolves wouldn't notice I was here. Before Addison and I parted ways, she told me how the wolves always patrolled each night, fewer now that they were accepted by Seabrook and Zombie town but they still wanted to be careful.

I went to the only place that they wouldn't check since it may bring back memories for Wyatt. I arrived to the lake where we had our first date and hopefully not our last.

I started searching the area and found a hidden cave behind the waterfall. I sighed in relief that I finally found a proper place to rest for the night without the wolves seeing me at first.

As I entered, I got wet and saw light up ahead. I slowly but cautiously sneaked my way around and just as I was about to turn the corner, I heard a sniffle.

I retreated behind the wall and listened intently to the sounds.

I only heard sniffles and some hiccups. I started feeling bad that I was letting this person cry thinking they're alone but I was here awkwardly trying to figure out what to do.

I finally gave in to the war in my head and walked around the corner.

"Hey."

Their weeping stopped and they didn't turn around yet so I took that as a sign to continue.

"Are you alright, do you need someone to talk to-"

The figure turned around and I saw that it was none other than Wynter crying.

"Zed!"

She quickly got up while wiping away some of her tears and hugged me tightly as I immediately hugged back.

"Wynter, what's wrong?"

She sniffed a little until she responded.

"It's Willa."

"What'd she do now," I questioned with visible anger in my voice.

She told me that we should sit down for the news she's about to tell me. She sniffed a little more and my big brother instincts kicked in and I immediately went over to her and gave her a hug.

"Take your time."

After a moment, she started explaining her situation and I immediately went mad and being disgusted by her actions.

"The day after she told you to back off Wyatt, Addison broke up with Willa and she started getting possessive and angry with the pack and started telling them what to do and if we didn't then we'd go to..."

"Wynter..."

"She told us we'd be kicked out of the pack and get rid of our moonstones," she sobbed out as she leaned into my chest while shivering in what I supposed was fear.

"But she can't really do that right, she's probably just over exaggerating," I responded reassuringly.

"You know Marty, right?"

"Yeah, Marty from the party. Did Willa..."

She nodded and I just stood there shocked. I knew Willa was tough but I didn't know she'd go that far as to kill someone in her pack.

"WYNTER!"

She stood up shocked and pushed me behind some tall, thick rocks. I heard the footsteps come closer and a thud.

"Why aren't you in the den?!"

Willa growled as I saw from a small hole in the rocks that she had pinned Wynter on the jagged wall.

"I just- I was just taking a break."

"Oh really," Willa respondes with a psychotic look in her eyes.

"Well then if your just taking a break then I guess you won't be needing this."

She grabbed the moonstone off Wynters's neck and threw on the ground as the light from it flickered a little.

"You done with your break?!"

"Yes! Yes just please give it back to me Willa please!"

"Well you seem fine yelling and pleading without it then why don't we just get rid of it!"

I bolted out of the rocks and pushed Willa on the ground as I gripped the moonstone in my hands, quickly placing it on Wynters neck, her pale look and tired actions halting immediately.

"Thanks Zed-"

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

Willa had stood up and pushed me on the ground while having me in a chokehold as I gasped for breath.

"YOU'RE NEVER COMING BACK HERE OR OUT ALIVE EVER AGAIN!"

I stood there helpless on the ground as I felt the thick liquid on my face.
