"Hey, Yelena?" You looked up at the blonde that was holding you in her arms, a tired look on her face.
She looked down at you "yes, love?".
"Do you remember when I told you how much I loved you?"
She nodded, a smile coming to her face "I do."
You smiled along with her, but weakly "good, because I meant it. I still do. I love you so much."
Her long fingers pushed your sweaty hair away from your face "I love you, too. I always will."
Your fingers brushed against her wrist "I know. Do something for me, ok?"
Her hand hovered over your cheek "anything."
You let out a shuddered breath "try and forget about me when I leave. Can you do that?".
Yelena shook her head, blonde hair following her every move "I could never." Small tears formed at the corner of her dark eyes.
You laughed, although it was quiet "it was worth a shot I guess. I know you'd never forget me."
She let out a half-hearted chuckle "nothing you say could make me forget you, love."
You let out a hum "I'm really lucky to have been with someone as pretty as you" you said, taking her hand in your own, intertwining your fingers.
She squeezed your hand "I could say the same."
You let out a cough, feeling liquid come up your throat "it's almost time, Lena."
She looked down at you sadly "it is, isn't it?" She sniffed, pulling you to her chest "I'll miss you."
You weakly held onto her shirt "I'll miss you, too."
Yelena swallowed down the lump forming in her throat as she then kissed your lips, the scarlet liquid on your mouth smearing against her own, but she didn't care.
Your breathing began to grow shallow as you tried to push your own lips against hers in order to return the kiss.
Yelena's hand hovered over the gaping hole in your stomach, blood smearing onto her hand.
You could barley feel the pain anymore. Your vision was beginning to grown blurry and your hearing was staring to fade.
"Look at me." You whispered out.
Yelena looked into your eyes, which were beginning to grow foggy and dim, light no longer shining in them.
"I've gotta say goodbye soon." Your voice was barley above a whisper now, but Yelena could hear you perfectly, as if you were the most loudest person on the airship.
Her lips quivered as she pressed a final kiss against your forehead.
"I hope to join you soon, darling" she said quietly.
You let a smile come onto your face as your world began to grown dark.
The last thing you saw was Yelena looking down at you, tears in her eyes.
You thanked to whoever was watching over the both of you that it was her that you got to spend your final moments with.
And then, you let out a final breath as you left this world.

The other Scouts on the airship looked upon the display in front of them. Mikasa and Armin were crying, tears streaming down their face. Sasha, who was supposed to be in your place, stood in shock. Jean and Connie were in disbelief, still trying to process everything.
Captain Levi approached Yelena, who was now holding your corpse. His face showed grief, as he had once again lost one of his comrades.
He looked down at her bundled form, a flash of pity overtaking him "you have to let her go now. We need to get her into another room."
Yelena held you tighter than ever, shaking her head. She wasn't able to say anything, because if she opened her mouth, all that would come out would be sobs.
Levi sighed, crouching to where he was eye level with her "she can't stay out here, you know that."
Letting out a weak sigh, Yelena stood up, holding you against her and your blood began to soak through her white uniform.
She whipped the blood off of her lips, attempting to regain her composure, but she knew it would be futile. She stoic facade was already cracking.
Levi stood up, guiding her to another room in the airship where they could put you.
As much as he disliked the woman behind him, he felt pity for her. He had never had a significant other, but he knew the pain of losing someone you cared about.
He let Yelena lay you down gently on the floor, being careful as to not get in her way.
With a heavy heart and tired eyes, Yelena watched as Levi left the room, leaving her alone with you.
As soon as the door slid closed, She finally let her tears fall down her face as she clutched you to her chest.
She let out a choked sob, her tears falling to the floor and onto your face.
She cried until she couldn't anymore. Until her eyes dried and she was only able to let out small hiccups and shuddering breaths.
She held you tightly, thinking that if she let go, you would be taken from her.
But, it was already too late for that.
