It seems like with each passing day, the relationship between Y/n and Mizu grows stronger, they don't exactly behave like a husband and wife normally would yet but Mizus suspicion of y/ns intentions have gone away.

She never would have thought she would actually be laughing.

Y/n was currently riding kaoru through the land that surrounded his home, with  Mizu alongside him, her arms around his waist hanging on for dear life.

"Too Fast! You're going too fast! Hahahaha!" Mizu yelled and laughed, enjoying the wind blowing in her hair.

" We are Nearly there my lady please don't loosen your grip!" Y/n said yelled with a smile, happy that mizu was comfortable now.

" You haven't even told me where we're going!" Mizu yelled as she tightened her grip and placed her head on his neck

" You will have to wait and see my lady that you will!" Y/n yelled.

Mizu just shook her head and smiled.

Soon They Had arrived, mizu bore witness to a magnificent peach tree,  its leaves almost glowing and
Bearing ripe fruit.

Y/n got off of kaoru and looked at mizu with his hand open.

" He's helping  me get down...i must be going soft...it's...nice though." Mizu Thought with a small smile  as she fought down a blush and accepted his help

"Would you like one my lady?" Y/n asked referring to the peaches as they got closer to the tree.

Mizu nodded, she could eat and  hadn't eaten fruit in a while.

She then saw y/n appearing to look over the tree, he appeared to be analyzing it but she didn't know why

Then suddenly y/n was on the move

In a calculated manor, he jumped on a few branches  until he got his hand on a ripe peach and land on his feet.

Y/n then offered her a peach with both hands and a smile.

"Impressive." Mizu said with a smirk as she accepted the peach, he really was nimble.

"Thank you my lady , it's truly not too difficult, would you like to learn?"  Y/n humbly offered.

" I don't think i can pull that off." Mizu said with a raised eyebrow and a smirk, y/n was being too modest,    She could fight but movements like that were another story.

"Not at all my lady, Come i will show you ," Y/n said as he motioned her to follow.

Mizu just shook her head smile and followed, might as-well indulge him.

"It just takes knowing the proper route, look for the branches that may offer you a path, and climb firmly to avoid falling." Y/n advised as he placed his hands inside the sleeves of his kimono.

Mizu heeded his advice, she gave him the peach to hold and began looking at the tree, She felt it was too easy to just step on the same branches he did, she looked for a different way, and after seeing the placement of some other branches, she got her path.

Mizu was on the move, she wasn't as fast as y/n but she maintained her balance as she climbed each branch.

She nearly reached a peach but unfortunately, the last branch she stepped on failed to support her weight.

"SNAP!"

"Gyah!" Mizu exclaimed as she fell towards the ground.

Mizu braced for impact but she then felt somebody catch her, she opened her eyes to see Y/n with a gentle smile.

" That was excellent for you're first time my lady that it was." Y/n said praising her and he gently set her down on her feet.

Mizu was surprised,they were almost the same size she didn't think that thin frame of his could catch her comfortably.

"You will master tree climbing in no time that you will"  y/n said with a smile as he offered her the peach once again.

Mizu just smiled at the praise and accepted the fruit, she was truly starting to enjoy this marriage thing.

Back Home

Mizu was currently brushing kaoru as  Y/n gave her some hay to eat, they then saw miwa walk out of the house, dressed and appearing under the weather.

Y/n and Mizu exchanged a worried look.

"Mama, are you sure you can go into town like that?" Mizu asked worried for her mother's health.

"Once i get my medicine I'll be fine." Miwa said irritated at her current state

Mizu just looked away, disappointed at the response.

Y/n looked conflicted, he didn't wish interfere, but he saw the stare of his mother in law and how this hard this must have been on mizu.

Y/n breathed in...then out...this was an uncomfortable position, but it was his money she was using so he had to make this call.

Y/n stood up and walked over to miwa, with mizu watching on curiously.

Y/n reached into the sleeve of his and  took out a little pouch of money and  gently placed it in Miwas hand.

"Please get some dried mackerel ma'am, lady mizu enjoyed it that she does." Y/n told miwa politely.

Miwa began counting the money within the pouch and didn't look pleased.

" This isn't enough for my medicine." Miwa said with a frown.

" I can't in good conscience finance this practice, me and mizu wish for you to try going without it." Y/n said with a bow.

Miwa of course wasn't happy about this and turned her gaze to mizu, who just looked away and kept brushing kaoru.

Night  rolled around and Mizu got ready for bed, she noticed Y/n opening the sliding door in front of her.

" are you comfortable my lady? Need another blanket?" Y/n  asked gently.

" I am fine, thank you y/n." Mizu responded with a light smile.

"That is good, i will see you in the morning." Y/n bowed his head with a smile.

Mizu saw him about to go back out, for some reason didn't want that.

"Wait." Mizu said, loud enough for him to hear.

"  Yes my lady?" Y/n asked ,surprised at the call.

"...you don't have to sleep outside." Mizu said, she didn't feel uncomfortable around him anymore, he shouldn't have to sleep away.

" are you sure my lady? I don't want to make you uncomfortable that i don't." Y/n asked with a concerned look.

Mizu just gave him a smile.

" You don't make me uncomfortable, please... i don't want to sleep alone..." Mizu said looking him in the eyes, she didn't know why but, she wanted him near.

Y/n was surprised, he hadn't heard that tone from her before, it sounded almost...vulnerable.

If his presence would help, he wouldn't deny her.

"Hm, very well my lady, i will, one moment." Y/n asked as he got out of the room to get his mat.

A moment  later the sliding  opened and y/n placed his mat on the opposite end of the room, in front of y/n.

Y/n  sat down on it and looked at mizu.

" sleep well my lady." Y/n said with smile as he blew out the candle and got comfortable on his mat.

"Thank you." Mizu said with a smile,  this was different, it felt better to her, soon she let sleep take her.

Days continued to pass, Y/n and Mizu were starting to look like a true couple,

Mizu at one point was trying to learn how to cook better

Y/n walked into the kitchen and noticed Mizu cutting thick slices of Carrots, a habit of anyone still learning how to cook.

"would you like me to help you my lady?." Y/n asked politely

Mizu shook her head

" No, i can clean, carry stacks of bamboo and wash clothes, I will get the hang of this." Mizu said, it bothered her that she was still cooking lack luster meals.

"Hm, very well but perhaps i can give you advice on cutting vegetables." Y/n said as he walked to mizu.

" its just cutting vegetables, whats there to get?." Mizu asked with a raised eyebrow, this was the easiest thing to her.

" a common mistake when cutting a vegetable is making the slices too thick, here let me show you." Y/n said as he went behind her.

Mizu was confused why he was behind her but then he gently grabbed her right hand holding the knife and the left holding down the carrot.

Mizu was suprised at the closes and just how soft his hands were.

" You want to make sure the slices are not too thin or thick, like this." Y/n said with a smile, as though he wasn't aware about the position he put him and mizu in.

Mizu couldn't speak she just listened follwing his words and how he was demonstrating to her how to cut.

"There, this way large slices won't overfill the bowl that it wont." Y/n said with a smile, removing his hands from mizus

"Right.." Mizu said with a light blush  that y/n couldn't see as she was still looking at the chopped carrot.

"Hm, i will be outside if you need me my lady." Y/n said bowing and taking his leave.

" Wait." Mizu said suddenly.

Y/n stopped and looked curiously at mizu.

"Could you help me with another..? I want to make sure i have it down." Mizu asked , not able to look him directly in the eye, he explained pretty so she felt foolish asking again.

Y/n just smiled.

"Of course my lady" Y/n said as he once again approached her from behind and held her hands, beginning his demonstration against.

Mizu smiled to herself, it she didn't need another demonstration, but she just...liked how he held her hands.

As Days continued to pass Mizu then noticed something that she only caught a glimpse of when she threw that wet shirt at his face.

He had a silly side.

There was one time when Mizu was freding karou dome hay.

" There...You're a hungry girl kaoru" Mizu said warmly, petting Kaoru as the horse ate.

"Neigh.." Kaoru sounded, enjoying the treatment she was getting

Then suddenly

"Good Morning!"

Mizu was startled, she heard no footsteps and simply reacted in her suprise.

Mizu threw a punch.

Y/n was not prepared

"OOOO!" Y/n grunted in shock, the force of the punch sending him down like a log.

"You dumb girl, look what you did!" Miwa yelled some feet away, witnessing everything.

Mizu then realized she had punched Y/n.

"Ororororo.." Y/n sounded, the punch rattled his brain.

Mizu now felt bad but proceeded to scold y/n

"You idiot, don't sneak up on me like that!" Mizu yelled, it was the dumbest thing you could do to her.

"But i was simply walking that i was...oro..." y/n said still dazed from the blow.

That surprised mizu just how did he walk so silently?but it was still no excuse.

" Then walk louder!" Mizu scolded as she picked up her husband off the ground.

" I will heed your advice that i will.." y/n said, mizu frame was deceiving , he didn't want to get punched again.

Then another day the two were back at the peach tree, Mizu was sitting comfortably against the tree, her hair down and watching y/n who was on a branch picking out a peach.

Y/n finally picked one but it appeared that he was to rough on the pull and another peach fell.

Right on top of his head.

"Bonk"

"ooaAh!" Y/n yelled as he held his head and slipped and fell to a bed of leaves.

"Oroorooro.." y/n said dazed

Normally mizu would help him up, but the peach to the head, the slip and fall, the sound he always seemed to make, it was like seeing a silly play.

She just laughed

"Ahahahaha!" Mizu laughed against the peach she was holding.

"Hehehe." Y/n sheepishly laughed as he scratched his hair a bit.

Never a dull moment with him.

This Paticular Day, was certainly different.

They headed back to the peach tree, only this time Mizu was riding them there.

"Please slow down my lady!" Y/n yelled as he held her by the waist, now knowing how mizu felt.

"Hold On!" Mizu yelled with a smile

Y/n of course obeyed, and soon they had arrived , despite mizu being the one riding, y/n once again dismounted first and offered mizu hand down, which made her smile.

Y/n then admired the peach tree, it was fall and the leaves looked very beautiful.

Y/n smiled and placed his hands in his kimono.

Mizu stood at his side, she then got curious about something.

" y/n, would you ever go back to your lord, to be in the position you once were?" Mizu asked curiously,  she noticed he never talked about it and wanted to know his thoughts.

"Hm...it's not something I'm concerned with ,  and it just isn't a job for me anymore, that it isn't ." Y/n said shrugging a bit.

" isn't it hard living like this, of course we aren't struggling by any means but... don't you miss who you once were? Don't you want to go back home?" Mizu asked, he deserved better than being given the status of a ronin.

" ....miss who in once was...." Y/n thought, a pensive look on his face.

His Mind flashed back to the carnage...the bodies...the unnecessary blood spilt...

The aura he locked away...

Mizu noticed his body tense a bit, she was worried now.

Y/n  then shook his head with a serious a look on his face

"No....i don't miss who i once was that i don't....besides, my lady... what do you mean by going back home?" Y/n asked looking at her.

Mizu looked confused by the question,

Y/n then looked at her in the eye, and with the purest smile mizu had ever seen he spoke.

"My Lady...I Am Home." Y/n said happily

Mizu felt the wind knocked out of her, those words entered her ears and she felt no ounce of a lie in them, He didn't want to go anywhere else, he wanted to stay with her

Mizu felt her heart beating loudly, she couldn't speak,then..she felt tears beginning to form in her eyes.

Y/n noticed the look and got worried

" My lady, whats wrong? Was it something i said?" Y/n asked concerned.

Mizu continued to look at y/n, she didn't trust her words,  she approached y/n until there was little space between them.

Before y/n could speak again, she closed the distance

Their lips connected, y/n was surprised at first, but he soon leaned into the kiss, and lifted his left arm to hold Mizu left cheek

Their lips detached for a moment and they gazed at one another, y/n rubbed his thumb on Mizus cheek and Mizu smiled and leaned into it, soon they locked lips again

Y/n hadn't been this close to a woman before, had never kissed one but doing it now felts so natural, Mizus tongue entered his mouth briefly then his, y/n then detached once again, Mizu gently nipping at his lip as he did

Y/n just looked into her beautiful eyes once again, with love and care,  y/n wrapped his arms around her waist and placed a kiss on her forehead, which made mizu feel butterflies inside.

Mizu leaned into him, placing her chin on his neck, hugging him deeply, enjoying his warm and the gentle kisses he placed on her neck.

As the sun began to set over the horizon,  the two continued to hold each other close, no more words needed to be said.

They were in love.
