Chapter 4
Nawe and I said our goodbyes and parted ways. I headed home to see my mother and Charlie.
"Hey mom! I'm home!" I yelled once I stepped inside.
"Hello sweetheart," she said.
"I'm going upstairs," I pointed up the stairs.
"Alright. Be back down in half an hour, dinner will be ready soon."
"Ok." I trotted up the stairs and laid on my bed. I was really bored after having such an eventful day with a stranger.
Who is this boy really? I ask myself. I don't know anyone like him. Why is he so strange?
I grabbed a random book off the shelf above my bed. I sighed as I opened it to the first page. It's been a long time, old friend, I thought to the book.

I was woken up by someone calling my name. I opened my eyes and realized it was my mother.
"Coming!" I call as I hop down the stairs.
I sat at the table and my mother handed me my soup.
"Your father won't be here for dinner tonight," she sighed, "again."
"It's alright. I'm sure he'll be back soon," I reassured her.
"I hope so." She sat down across from me. She quickly perked up. "So what have you been up to today?"
"I uh, made a new friend... Because I accidentally ran into him?" A answered as more of a question. "He's very strange." I mumbled.
"What was that?" My mother had always told me not to mumble. (Tangled anyone? Yes? No? Ok.)
"I just said that he's very nice."
"You know I met your father when I was about your age."
"Are you saying that I'm going to marry him?!" I stand up so quickly that my chair falls back.
"No, I am not saying that. Now please pick up your chair." I did as I was told and finished eating.
"I'm going up to bed," I said as I brought my dishes to the counter.
I walked upstairs with Charlie. I got under my quilt and Charlie curled up at the end of my bed.
I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

"You can end this war." A tall, thin lady with dark purple hair said. "End it, please. Find a way without violence. The war has killed us, inside and out."
Another women appeared beside her, she was short and plump with golden hair.
"Save us. Find another way. You're the only one who can help us!" Both of them said in monotone unison.
"Believe in yourself and you can do it," the short lady said.
"Belief is key." Said the taller woman.
The two women began to fade away.
When I woke up, my legs were completely numb. I looked up to see Charlie lying across them. I groaned, "Charlie! Get off!" He slowly lumbered off of me.
I brushed through my hair and cleaned my teeth. I walked downstairs, legs still numb. "Good morning!" My mother said in a sing-song voice.
"What's so amazing about this morning?" I yawn.
"Oh nothing..." She said happily while twirling around the kitchen.
"Are you sure? You're spinning around like a mad woman," I point out.
She stopped. "No I'm not."
I sat at the table and tiredly sank my teeth into an apple. It was the most bland apple I had ever tasted. I sighed and looked out the window.
"You look sick. Probably because you were so wet and cold yesterday." My mother said.
I sneezed. "Yeah."
"Go back to bed."
"Ok." I threw my unfinished apple on the tablecloth. "Good night," I yawned.
"Good night."

I know, this was a short chapter and was probably quite boring. But there's going to be a lot of those before I get to the climax, just to warn you. But anyway, I hope you enjoyed it.
