Behind The Scenes

Hello everybody! It's your author. So you might be wondering, what this is really about. Well, you know how at the end of a movie or a Kdrama's last episode, they show behind-the-scenes? Well yeah, this chapter is just like that.

In this chapter, there will be all the things I got inspiration from. It will also consist, facts about the characters, and the book. There will be things about how to write the book, my notes, some advice for beginner writers, stories of writing this book, and more. I will also be answering some questions that you might want answered.

There will also be a playlist at the end for you guys!

So let's begin now!

Chapter- 10. Red Wall: Dead Crows

So I remember, one day I was walking to my PE class and while I was walking I saw this weird thing in the distance. I walked towards it and it was like... a dead bird. There wasn't much I could do since it was dead, but I did dig out its grave with the help of the staff. This happened a while ago but the memory is still there in my brain. So when I was thinking of something disgusting, I just put this in the part of the chapter.

Chapter- 15. Darkness: Jin in Disguise

So the inspiration for this came from a play I was doing. Yes, I study acting and drama. So I was doing a part in a play where I had to be disguised in a mask. While I was doing the final performance for some reason I zoned out while the other characters were talking and ended up having the thought of Jin being in disguise. Fortunately, I did well in the performance and got good grades.

Chapter- 16. Scary: Bloody hide and seek

Obviously, this game is inspired by the original game. The thing was that since we had a day where we had to take care of younger students, you can say that we were basically babysitting though we had our own lessons to take. But when we were taking care of them my classmate suggested that we play hide and seek. Not gonna lie but I cringed in the inside. We still had to play since the kids liked the idea. And while I was counting, I again thought about what would happen if Jin was playing with Namjoon.

Chapter- 20. Anything For You: Jin in the Hallway

So I got the idea for this when I was going to the mall. This was I think the time when I didn't upload for a while. So I was constantly thinking of ideas. I was once in the car and we were finding parking. The whole parking lot was very empty and slightly dark. So I thought what if a person just appeared in the middle of the parking lot with his back facing us.

Chapter- 21. Obsessed: Room of Pictures

So the room that was filled with pictures of Namjoon was inspired from books on Wattpad and just the idea of obsession. I am sure if you read books that consist of heavy obsession then you would have seen that one of the characters take photos of the person they are obsessed with. Jin is the same here.

Chapter- 23. Believe me: Jin hit by a Missile

So this was inspired by a show I watched when I was very young. I snuck in and watched a show that my parents were watching. A character nearly got killed by a missile. So like they willingly went into the dangerous land where the bombing was happening and nearly got killed but didn't die. I don't know the name of the show because I was very young back then. Also, I didn't really freak out while watching it. Can you tell how I have such a violent imagination?

Chapter- 25. 7 Days of Hell: Lions Chasing

So the inspiration for the part where lions were chasing Namjoon came from real life. No, I didn't get chased by anything. But the idea came when I was running in the park. I was thinking about the 7 days of Hell. I was doing it so I could distract myself. But while I was running I asked myself something. What if hungry lions were chasing behind Namjoon?

Chapter- 25. 7 Days of Hell: Buried alive

This was inspired by the movie Buried. But fun fact, I think I read somewhere that the actor of the movie has a phobia of being buried alive or something. I am not really sure so don't be mad if I am wrong, but yeah.

Chapter- 27. The New Killer: Sword Down the throat

I remember watching like a video where they said that a doctor was watching a sword-swallower do a trick where he is shoving a sword down his throat and not dying. The doctor decided to shove a long tubed camera down his throat and look around his stomach and stuff. Those things are called endoscopes, by the way. Doctors actually use them.

Chapter- 29. The Villains: Rope around the throat

This was inspired by a Korean movie called. V.I.P. Now I really don't recommend this movie to anyone who is under 18. This movie is EXTREMELY graphic. So please don't watch it if you are weak-hearted. So the inspiration came from the part where after they were done raping the lady a guy tied a rope around her and killed her. It was so graphic that I was thinking about it for a while!

Jin's Sunglasses:

Jin always wears his sunglasses when he is about to do something really big. Or something that is important to him. He can wear it after the work is done or before the work is done. The sunglasses show his confidence.

Longest Chapter:

The longest chapter of this book is The New Killer. The chapter contains 5050 words.

Cliche:

This book was originally going to be a very cliche book. Like mafia and softie. But something in my brain changed mid-way and I decided to make it more different.

Tattoos:

Jin and Namjoon both have a tattoo on their chest. On Jin's chest, the tattoo says 'Owned by Kim Namjoon'. And on Namjoon's chest, it says 'Owned by Kim Seokjin'

Torture:

This is the first book in which I had to write torture.

Jimin's Love:

Jimin first saw Jungkook when he was looking for some paint tubes in the art store. It was basically love at first sight when he saw Jungkook in the canvas aisle.

Namjoon's beating:

Nobody knows this but when Namjoon got beaten by a few people, he purposely didn't stop them. The reason behind this was that he wanted Jin's attention. He wanted to see Jin fight for him.

⨀ ℚ𝕦𝕖𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤 ⨀

Btw, a few of the questions here are asked by some of my friends, cause I was too embarrassed and lazy to ask questions and yeah.  And since I am a weirdo, I made some of my own. Anyways, onto the questions

How did you get the idea of this book?

The idea for this book came when I was talking to a friend. We decided to do a collab but unfortunately, she had a lot of things on her plate since exams were coming for her. Though I got a great idea to start a book with.

What part of this book is your favourite?

The torture parts were my favourite. Writing them was a lot of fun! To be honest, when I was writing the last chapter of the story, I literally had to pause and take in what I was writing. I was sitting for 5 minutes in front of my laptop staring at the 1st draft about a guy eating something so disgusting. But I still had a lot of fun.

Why is this book so dark?

This book wasn't ever supposed to be this dark. As I said before, this book would have been a very cliche story. But I think it was from chapter 20, Anything from you. That's when I thought that I would make this book very different from what people usually read. Like most of the time, it's like there is a villain that's doing bad stuff and then the hero destroys the villain. There are also times where the villains end up becoming good people. But I decided to take this book in a different path. I tried to make it like a villain's diary. How does a villain experience things that normal people do?

Who is your favourite character and why?

So I am not being biased right now. I really like the thinking and personality of Jin. He seems like a good villain. He is everything that people want to be, handsome, smart, rich, intelligent. But he also has his flaws, he has anger issues, lacks empathy and more. He is not completely your cliche-type villain. He is a wise, hard-working, and great leader.

How did you build up the characters?

Building up the characters was kind of hard since I wasn't really sure how they really are like. Character build-up can be really hard if you don't make a plan for their traits and personality. The characters in my opinion were very mysterious. Like, who would have expected Namjoon to be so dark? Though, I eventually understood my characters as I wrote more about them. So yeah, it was hard, but I made it work.

Do you agree with the motive and mindset of your protagonists?

Absolutely not! I don't think that the world will be filled with darkness. Because darkness can disappear when there is light. Though I am a pessimist, I do not agree with what the characters think.

What do you think about your book?

It's fine, I guess. I never self-compliment myself so I am not going beyond that. But I will say that I did not expect that I would write this much.

Have you found more about yourself after writing this book?

Yes, definitely! I think I will need therapy! Haha, I am just kidding. You can say that I let out all my darkness in this book. You know how some people scream on the pillow after a rough day? Yeah, this book is that. All my darkness is stored here. I don't know but I do write very extreme things!

Did you write this book in any weird places?

Yup, a lot of it is written in my house during class due to online learning. But a lot of it is also written during my English class. I would usually sit in the corner, sneak in my diary and write the chapters of the book. I would also write it on the bus while returning home. It was very fun yet stressful.

Why did you end this book now?

It was because, first of all, I just wanted to be done with this book. Second, my school is opening soon so I will get extra busy. Another thing is that I wanted to end this book as a gift to myself because my birthday is coming soon so yeah. An early birthday gift to myself! My birthday is a day after Jungkook's!

Did you get scared writing this book?

Not at all! It's not that scary, even if I visualize it, it's not that scary. I mean i get it that it's very rough, but it's not a horror book so it's not scary. I have also seen many authors freak out after writing something horrific. Like, I don't get it. How do you freak out of your own writing? I don't freak out since it's my own imagination. If this thing happened to me in real life I will be screaming my lungs out. Hahaha!

⨀ 𝕎𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕋𝕚𝕡𝕤 ⨀

To all of my readers who are thinking or hesitating about writing a book. Don't worry fam I got you! I am not good myself, but I will tell you all the things that I have learned while writing this book.

Grammar:

So, I highly recommend that you write your chapters in a grammar-correcting place. You can write with Grammarly, Google docs or more. I recommend Google docs because they are more thorough with the grammar but you can do it in any other place. Writing it there will help you correct the grammar and spelling mistakes you might have made.

Drafts:

I usually make about 2-3 drafts. The first draft will be where you just write down the story. The second draft will be where you correct grammar and edit any parts needed. The last draft will be on Wattpad or any other platform that you write on. Check through the formatting of your paragraphs and everything else. Make sure everything is ready to go and then you can publish it.

Reading Through:

I know reading your final draft is a huge bummer. But if you are really passionate about your content and want to post your best, then I highly recommend that you read through your final draft.

Writing Emotions:

So there are times when you need to write a very violent or angsty part in your book. But the thing is that if you feel the emotion while writing it then you can push your writing limits. If you have a hard time writing those emotions then you should probably try imagining yourself as the character. For example, when Jin was killing Lucus, he was feeling angry yet delightful. It was hard to write it because I was writing two polar opposite things at the same time. But then I closed my eyes and imagined what I would be like if I was Jin. You can take inspiration from dramas, music, or even other books.

Understanding Your Characters:

Understanding the character is the first thing you should do when you are going to be writing about it. What is their personality, their likes, dislikes? How are they different from others? How are they humans or whatever their species is? What do they believe in? Why are they like this? What is their normal? What is their boundary? If you are able to answer these questions then good for you! But if you are still having a good time, then listen to some songs. Instead of just listening to them, look at their lyrics. If it's not fitting in with what you are thinking of the character, then keep finding. I am sure that there is one song that will feel like your character. It would be like, If my character was a song! Now I will show you an example of this.

⨀ ℙ𝕝𝕒𝕪𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥 ⨀

This is a gift to all my readers who have supported me this far. I didn't create a Spotify playlist since I was tired after researching songs that fitted my characters for hours.

Adam Jensen- Street Fight

Royal Deluxe- Bad

War Hall- Ready or Not

Sam Tinnex- Play with Fire

G-Eazy- Leviathan

KDA- Villain

june- A Little Messed Up

Namjoon's Playlist:
