I awoke to Zena nudging me, she could smell something nearby. Omega appeared beside me, her eyes were looking exactly the same way Zena was. My heart began to race and I woke the others while my AI and my griffin kept a watch on the cave door, we all stumbled to the entrance to see what was bothering them.
"Oh my god, it can't be!" I gasped, the other Spartans shook their heads in disbelief. An army of covenant was slowly but surely making its way towards the mountain, my heart froze when I saw who was leading the army. The shipmaster had a blank expression on his face and I knew what pained I had caused him, I looked back at the Spartans and everyone turned their heads to me knowing what I was about to do. Before anyone could say anything I charged down the mountain, I skidded to a stop in front of the shipmaster keeping my distance. Everything was still as I waited for whatever punishment I would be given, hurt shon in the shipmasters eyes but he hid it with his blank stare again.
"We could have avoided this Arbiter," he called in a flat tone, I winced but held my head high.
"All I asked for is peace, and this is what I get in return!" I roared, the shipmaster flinched back but he took a step forward and I pulled out my energy sword.
"Let's the Spartans go, they have done nothing but try to protect themselves from your FOOLISH decisions, I offer myself in return for their safety," I called this time sadness edging my voice, the shipmaster took another step forwards and I could tell he was fighting with himself. Suddenly he charged and I stood there, he stopped and held the sword to my throat and I looked away ashamed of what I had caused him.
"We could have had a happy family, we have a son, Akin isn't the same without you," Shipmaster sobbed quietly, I looked into his sad eyes and nodded. His eyes went wide when he realised why I nodded, he took a step back readying himself.
"Promise me their safety," I begged softly, the shipmaster looked at the cave where the Spartans cowered with Zena.
"I promise nothing," he hissed, he lifted his sword ready to strike. I simply knelt down on my knees awaiting death, I deserved death after betraying everyone I every knew and loved. He swung the sword down but pain never came, I looked up to see the energy sword an inch above my head. Sadness welled in his eyes and if crying were possible for the covenant he would be crying like no tomorrow, I gave him another nod but instead he dropped the energy sword. He collapsed onto his knees looking at me, I could still see the love I saw when he first confessed to me.
"I-I can't hurt you, you and Akin are the things I hold dearest in my heart, I would rather die by your side then kill you myself," The shipmaster roared loud enough for the whole fleet to hear, everything was dead silent. Nothing moved an inch, all that could be heard was the faint breathing of every troop. I looked into my husbands eyes and he pulled my face closer so our foreheads rested on each other's, he then stood and began to walk back towards the fleet.
"I CHALLENGE ANYONE WHO THINKS THEY CAN TAKE ME ON! I WILL NOT STAND AND KILL MY WIFE BECAUSE OUR LEADERS REFUSE TO BRING PEACE TO THE WORLD AND WORK WITH THE SPARTANS! APPROACH ME IF YOU DARE!!!!" Shipmaster roared, the whole fleet seemed to take a step backwards. One of the leaders made their way through the armada and stood in front of him, I thought they were going to bring peace but I watched as the spartan slayer was driven through his chest. My eyes widened in shock and I ran to his side ignoring the leader that towered over me, I watched the light fade from his eyes and I jumped up stabbing on of the leaders multiple times in the stomach until they collapsed. Rage filled my soul and I stood in front of the fleet, they all began to bow all except the other three leaders. The began to make their way towards me swords out, I backed up away from the fleet knowing I had brought this upon myself. They were standing in front of me their eyes defiant, I noticed a few of the fleet began to surround me protectively. Eventually I had the entire army behind me glaring daggers at the old leaders, they backed away shocked.
"You erase my memories! *i take a step closer* you manipulate me! *i take another step closer* you kill my husband! *i took yet another step forwards* and now you're going to pay for it!" I roared charging, the fleet joined me in chasing down the leaders. After they were taken care of I noticed a green armoured figure standing next to an elite in strange golden armour, I recognised that armour from the old Arbiters group of fighters that followed him wherever he went. I dipped my head in respect and both bowed down but kept their distance, Zena and the Spartans soon joined me by my side as the fleet bowed.
"Rise my friends, family, today is the dawn of a new era, one where peace shall reign over the lands, I will lead you with honour and I won't force you into battles I know you can't win, now let us go and try to ask for the same thing from the Spartans leaders!" I roared raising my sword into the air, the fleet did the same and roars of victory and pride sounded from everywhere. Finally I turned back to my husbands limp body and collapsed beside it, the demon and the strange elite had come over now and were standing a metre away.
"I am deeply sorry for what happened to your husband Donna, now that you rule with true intentions I wish to offer my armada to join allies with you," the elite offered, I looked up and realised who was talking. Arbiter stood before me in his golden armour and I nodded standing, his army walked over the hill and join up with mine. I watched as a female elite brought a small little baby to me, I realised it was my son and I took him quickly hugging him tight. Everyone let out a cry of pride and joy that their Arbiters had returned to them, Arbiter and Master chief stood in front of me and not beside me like the other Spartans and Zena did. I let out a sigh, finally I had brought peace to the world.

Ok so I legit almost stayed up for about a week straight writing all of this because I was oddly obsessed with it and now I'm about to start another one (I'm going to regret lack of sleep later) and well yeah hope you enjoyed my book!
