A History Lesson

A/N: I am happy to announce that! I have no announcements (for now). The picture about isn't mine, but it belongs to Shadow-Turtle-234.

I woke up with a stinging pain in my chest. I tried to bolt up, but something held me down. I opened my eyes instead, but the light was too bright. I heard someone whimpering.

"Joey stop! Please! Joey!" A voice came from me, but I wasn't my voice it was that cartoon's voice, the same cartoon I've been seeing every where. 'Was I in his dream? Or a memory? Who was Joey?' My brain started questioning. I saw a tall shadow looked over me. I heard the shadow say something, but I didn't pay attention.

I bolted up, I was awake, for real this time. I looked around the room, but cartoon was nowhere to be seen.

I got up and heard someone sobbing, they were trying to be quiet about it, but I could hear them.

"Joey why? Joey... Joey..." they sobbed. I followed their voice to the bathroom. I knocked on the wall letting them know I was here.

"Are you okay?" I asked. They sniffed and mumbled a yes.

"I'll go find some food." I excused myself.

"Wait! Don't go. I am fine honestly, I just need a distraction." They said. I heard a stall open and I turned around and saw the cute cartoon. 'I forgot that was a thing! Cartoons are alive and real.' I nervously giggled and the cartoon gave me a weird look.

The cartoon was black-and-white, he had pie eyes, and he was as tall as me! His head reminded me of a cartoon moon. He had a white bow and a white face. His body was black and he had black shoes. He had a wide smile on his face. He had this little devil tail that wave around like a cat's.

"I have'ta introduce myself anyway, my name is Bendy, Bendy the Dancing Demon and you are?" Bendy said.

"I am Ann... I think." I blushed. Bendy gave me a confused look.

"Ya think? Toots, ya don't know yer name?" Bendy asked. I glared at him.

"Don't call me toots." I snapped at him. Bendy rubbed the back of his head.

"Sorry just an old habit... I guess." Bendy said. There was silence and it lasted a bit longer than anyone would've like, so I turned around and began to say something.

"Where is the food?" I asked while I walked away. Bendy rushed after me.

"We don't have any left I used the rest of it the last time we ate. I could go out to get some more, but not now... It's not safe yet. And I also have'ta explain some things to ya." Bendy said. I turned to look at him.

"Explain what?" I asked.

"Ya mean ya didn't notice?" Bendy looked at me dumbfounded.

"Notice what?" I looked at my hand and saw a glove and my skin was the same color as Bendy's.

"What happened?! What did you do to me?!" I accused. Bendy looked at me surprised.

"I didn't do nothin' to ya too— to ya!" Bendy defended himself. I didn't believe him.

"I swear! I didn't do nothin' to ya! Ya have t'a believe me! I saved ya that's all!" Bendy yelled.

"Ya died, okay! And in ink of all places, ya turned to a cartoon. Ya turned into a cartoon like me! Yer goin' through the transformation from human to cartoon. Yer cartoon's name is Alice. Let's hope yer not like Joey o' the other cartoons that didn't complete their transformation." Bendy explained.

"How did this happen?" I asked, still not believing him completely.

"Ya died in the ink, the ink 'saved' ya by turnin ya into a cartoon. I can't really explain it, not even Joey knew how it worked and he made the Machine!" Bendy said, he was starting to get frustrated.

"Right now yer still goin' through the transformation so I can't leave ya alone. I mean I don't want t'a leave ya alone incase ya don't complete the transformation." Bendy said, his tail fling itself everywhere.

"So you're saying I died and became a cartoon, well seeing you are a cartoon, that's actually alive and talking to me... that's not the craziest thing I've heard." I said.

"How can you tell if I am not going to complete the transformation?" I asked, Bendy looked down. He clearly didn't want to answer that, but he did.

"Ya will know, yer ink will start meltin' and ya will start goin' insane. There's a lot of other signs, but it's different for every person." Bendy answered.

"Okay... Who's... Who's Joey?" I asked guilt filled me. Bendy looked at me with shock and fear, he clearly wasn't expecting me to ask that.

"How'd ya— Joey... well ya might as well know." Bendy looked down and smiled a bit like he was remembering some good times.

"Joey he is the creator, well one of them. The other one is Henry, but Henry left a long time ago." Suddenly Bendy's smile faded.

"But Joey was a twisted man after Henry left. Joey's studio was startin' to go out of business and as a final hoorah Joey invited all the employees back to the workshop, before it was goin' t'a shut down. Most of the workers showed, but Henry was the one that Joey noticed the most that was missin'. Joey locked everyone inside the studio and killed them and brought them back as cartoons, but there were too many for the Ink Machine to process and a lot of their transformations weren't complete. A lot of the workers turned into searchers or corrupted cartoons. Joey saw what he had done and in a final attempt to get Henry to come back he sent a letter to Henry and Joey killed himself. He was supposed to be a Bendy cartoon like me, but he didn't complete the transformation and he became the Ink Demon. I was one of the few workers who escaped Joey's madness at first, but Joey caught me and killed me. And I turned into the 'perfect' bein' Joey wanted to be. Before Joey had killed himself he tried to find a way to switch spots, but when it was clear he wasn't goin' to find one he continued his original plan and was goin' to kill me when he changed. The other workers who had escaped Joey, I think they were caught and they were changed, some where corrupted, or they died, I hope some of them survived I am not sure who was changed. The ones who escaped names were Sammy Laurence, Allison Pendle, Norman Polk, Grant Cohen, Jack Fain, Shawn Flynn, Bertrume Piedmont, and Wally Franks." Bendy looked like he was going to cry and that made me feel even worse for asking about this Henry person.

"Who's Henry?" I looked at Bendy's feet.

"Henry? He was one of the creators, he left this studio a long time ago, due to Joey takin' his ideas and all the credit too. This wouldn't have happened if Henry didn't leave! I would still be human! But he did come back, but instead of savin' us he killed us instead. He killed all my friends o' they used to be my friends. He didn't know what happened here and he probably won't ever know. The moment he stepped inside the studio he wanted to leave, then he foolishly turned on the Ink Machine and made his situation a lot worse. But I think he did leave and left all the people who needed help behind." Bendy was getting frustrated, but he didn't say anything.

"So when will the transformation be complete?" I asked.

"In a few hours. Ya should get some rest o' get back in the bucket of ink. Yes I know how weird that sounds." Bendy said.

"What are you going to do?" I asked.

"I am goin' t'a get some rest too." Bendy said, but I knew that was lie. His tail gave away his lie. I nodded and walked away. I went to go look for the bucket, I guess it will be the best thing for me. It might even make the process go faster.

I found the bucket in the room at the end of the hall.

"How did you get here?" I said to the bucket. I got in the bucket.

"I feel so stupid." I said out loud. I sunk into the ink. The ink started bubbling and it felt so good like I was being massaged. I felt myself drift off to sleep.

I heard a crash and I bolted up and got out of the bucket, the ink clung to me for a little while.

"What's wrong?!" I asked Bendy. He was on the floor with several soup cans. He flipped himself around and looked at the doorway with so much fear he was almost petrified. I heard sloshing sounds and ran to the door and saw what he was so scared of. The Ink Demon. I tried to pull the door closed, but it didn't budge. Bendy quickly snapped out of his daze and pulled me in the room. He stared at the Ink Demon.

"Not today, Joey!" Bendy shouted and pulled down on a lever . The door quickly closed and Bendy turned to you. Bendy's face showed only worry.

"He found us! He won't leave the door and we have no other way out." Bendy pointed out. Bendy walked over to me, but stopped. He mumbled something about me not being his Alice and wiped a tear from his face.

"Maybe we can make a way out." I said as someone started banging on the door. Bendy seemed to out of it, every bang on the door made Bendy flinch.

"Bendy!" I called out to him. He shook his head.

"Yeah we should try." Bendy said, Bendy remembered something.

"Oh shoot! The bucket!" Bendy yelled, suddenly the banging stopped and a splash was heard in the a room.

"Oh Shick!" I said out loud, that wasn't the word I wanted to use. I have been censored! I decide to talk about this later. Bendy was frozen in fear again. I pulled down the lever and grabbed Bendy. I heard a roar and turned around and saw the Ink Demon! Bendy was barely moving he seemed to be paralyzed with fear. I tried to speed up, but I couldn't go as fast as I wanted thanks to Bendy not moving.

"Bendy! Snap out of it!" I yelled at him, but he didn't seem to hear me and the Ink Demon was getting closer. I lifted him on my back, but he was heavy. I ran and turned down every passage I could. I ran into a very dark place, but I kept going until I ran into a dead end. I saw a vent and quickly slipped inside I quickly moved through the vent. The Ink Demon was still following me. I quickly get through the vent and ran into a room with broken glass.

I lost track of where I was, but I did notice all these boxes. When I was far enough I swung the door of one of the boxes and went inside. I quickly slammed the door shut and suddenly the Ink Demon stopped chasing us and looked around. When he couldn't find us he left. I released a big sigh of relief. I let go of Bendy and heard him plop on the seat that was inside the box. I turned and faced him, I didn't realize how tight a squeeze it was until I was facing him. My anger over powered me and I flicked one of Bendy's horns. Bendy snapped out and looked at me.

"What'd ya do that fer..." Bendy slowly stopped when he realized where he was.

"I am so sorry toot-- I mean Alic-- I mean Ann!" Bendy tried to correct himself.

"You literally did nothing to help me!" I yelled at Bendy. Bendy looked down.

"Look I'm sorry. I don't know what happened." Bendy apologized again. I turned away from him.

"It's safe now so we can get out now." I said. 'How did he even survive this long if he freezes up every time that thing is around?' I thought, but I immediately regretted thinking that, but it's not like he can read my mind.

"There is somethin' I need t'a tell ya, yer slowly gonna start callin' yourself yer character's name and ya will start also start actin' like them too." Bendy said sadly.

"Yer gonna start losin' track of who ya used to be, but you'll still know who ya were. The ink does that, and there's no way of stoppin' it either. Believe me I've tried." Bendy said. I stayed quiet, I didn't have anything to say. I was getting ready to leave, but Bendy grabbed my hand. I looked at him.

"Are ya sure it's safe?" Bendy asked. I sighed, he was scared.

"We'll wait more if you want." I offered. He nodded his head and scooted over to give me some room. I sat down and let Bendy lean on me. I leaned back on him and unwillingly dozed off.
