Chapter 56

Siya's POV:

            I felt that I was the most luckiest girl in the world to have such a husband like Arjun. He made me feel so special and I loved our date last night. And that movie, it was our movie it was so beautiful that we could play that to our children and cherish our love story.

          I was resting my head on his chest and grinning like an idiot thinking about last night. "Aren't you tired love?" Asked Arjun tucking the loose strands hair behind my ear.

          "Aren't you sleeping husband?" I asked him raising my eyebrow. He flipped our position and came face to face with me, he being on top. "I couldn't sleep, when my beautiful wife grinning and drawing patters on my shoulder." He told me.

            "Sorry, Arjun. I....I was unaware." I told him. "It's OK baby,   since both of us are not sleeping ....we can start..." He trailed his finger over my cheeks leading down making me close my eyes. My daughter's face flashed in front of me. Suddenly I started missing her. We never left her alone even with my dad for so long. It was around five in the morning, we left her last evening. The urge to see my daughter increased thousand folds suddenly.

   End of the day, I was a mother.

      Arjun stopped and rested his forehead on me suddenly " I can't hide it from you anymore love. I'm sorry." Arjun told me.

  Now what?

     My heart started beating fast due to anxiety because my husband was a pool of secrets. "What are you talking about Arjun?" I asked him cupping his face.

        "Siya... I know you'll not leave me, I know how much you love me and that's the reason I'm telling you this. Siya you know only a part of the story of my life there was lot more left." With that he laid on his back and pulled me to his chest.

       "What else is left Arjun, if I had to leave you, I would have left you already I had many reasons. But still I'm holding on to you because I know you are good at heart, you are the best dad in the world, our daughter loves you to the back of the moon and the main reason is I love you. So go ahead." I told him simultaneously I felt bad about Ariya in the corner of my heart, I felt my daughter crying for me.

        Kissing my forehead he started "Siya, after running from my step mom I starved for days and stared doing many small works like sweeping house, washing vehicles and supplying tea etc.

                 With the help of Mani uncle I worked part-time and studied, he helped me join my college and pursue my education further. No one was ready to give me job since I was a fresher, I don't know, if everyone wanted a experienced candidate where will the others go and how can we get experience? There after I met a very powerful man in the country he was a mafia. His name was Chandran Khaleja." Told Arjun and studied my face, I was curious.

   Come on husband you have given me many heart attacks before. I'm waiting now what?

     He sighed and continued " Then I worked under him Siya, life made me meet Ajay again. Many fights and troubles continued Chandran sir handed over his business to me and I made seven times profit in one month. Years passed and in a fight Ajay killed Chandran sir.

               He didn't have any children or other relations Siya he named all his properties over me and I took his place to fulfill his wishes and changed my name to Arjun Khaleja." told him.

        "Took his place you mean?" I asked him raising my head from his chest.

         "I....I was a Mafia. " told Arjun shaking the ground underneath me.

     "Mafia as in smuggling, kidnappings and murders? " I asked him hitching my breath.

        "Yes...bu...but not now. I WAS a mafia but left everything now. For you, for Ariya, for us Siya. I'm not what I was. I have changed you have changed me. Please don't misunderstand me please... This was the thing killing me from inside, I told you today. Please trust me love. Please." He begged.

        I felt nothing, but my heart started paining. I knew he changed a lot for me but it was... Ofcours my dad WS also a mafia once but this was something I didn't imagine with my husband.

          I just wanted to see my daughter and spend some alone time. So I stood up and dressed.
" I wanna go home."

           Arjun looked distraught and hurt, he didn't push me for anything and drove back to our house. Since it was early, the roads were free from traffic.

        An uncomfortable silence prevailed over us. We reached home and I could clearly hear my daughter's cries.

I knew something was wrong.

    I ran upstairs and saw my dad pacing the corridor with my crying baby trying to console her. She saw me and raised her hands towards me. I pulled her into my arms and stated rubbing her back, sobs left her mouth as muffled moans while she buried her face inside my neck.

         "Why didn't you call us dad? " I asked daddy.

         "She just started crying an hour before Siya... She was missing you both. I didn't wanted to disturb your date so..." He trailed.

       "Come on daddy. No bloody date is important to us than Ariya. You take rest, I'll take care." I told dad and took Ari to our room.

       Arjun entered and asked me "what happened!" I didn't answer instead wiped Ari's face and removed her dress. She looks so irritated while I changed her nappy. She saw Arjun and raised her hands "acchu..." He came and took her in his arms "My heartbead, missed daddy and mommy.... I'm so sorry." He told and laid on the bed next to me holding ari tight to his chest. I was about to move but my daughter got my little finger and pulled me closer. I had to lie on Arjun's shoulder and hug her. Both Arjun and I didn't look at each other.

     Slowly my mind started processing.... "Your dad was also a mafia. You respected him since he left everything for your mom. Now your husband was also a mafia, he left everything for you why couldn't you respect and accept him." Asked my brain.

          True, that's the point but I was scared, I was blocked by an unknown fear and anger. I turned to him Ari was sleeping beside me, Arjun was in the balcony looking at the sky.

       "He loves you Siya, more than anything else in the world. Go to him." Told my heart. I kept pillows on either side of the bed and went to him.

           Hugging him from behind I kissed his back " I'm sorry. " I told him. He didn't turn back but replied " Don't be, you have all rights." It brought a smile on my face. He dialed someone's number and scheduled his meetings.

       I plucked the phone from his hand and spoke " Listen, who ever you are... Please cancel all Arjun's  meetings scheduled today. He's not coming to office." I told and cut the call. Arjun just looked at me with a blank expression, " What? You didn't sleep the whole night. You are not a robot, you are a human and you need rest. More than that you are my husband, I'm not sending my husband for work today, you understand. " I told pointing a finger at him. He just hugged me tight and I hugged me back we stayed for few minutes like that. "I'm sorry..." Arjun told me.

      "I love you..." With that I kissed his chest.

         "I love you too.."  He replied with a smile and tried to claim my lips but I stopped him.

         "You cheat, you took me for a date and shut my mouth, did all naughty things all night and slowly opened your secret in the morning, you should have told me this before making love to me." I narrowed my eyes at him.

           "I...Siya it....I didn't plan it." He stammered. "I was kidding." I smiled and kissed his cheek.

       "Let's sleep Arjun, my eyes are burning." Once I told these words he carried me bridal style to our bed, pulling both Ari and me to his chest, he closed his eyes.

     We three slept peacefully forgetting everything.
