A Sneak-Peek

"Anatolia. What a splendid name." he drawled, his chiselled lips quirking upwards.

"For a beautiful body nonetheless." He muttered as his eyes ran over her in an appreciative glance.

She sat there tied to a chair with her head hung low, sweat dripping from the tip of her nose.

"So, tell me Anatolia, what is your business with us?"

She gritted her teeth.

He paced the room patiently with his arm behind his back.

"Managed to pass an entire battalion of guards unnoticed. I'm impressed." he muttered.

"Who sent you here?" He growled as the relaxed mood vanished.

She didn't move. She wouldn't even look him in the eyes. When addressed to, ignoring a command is a blatantly disrespectful gesture. He tipped her chin to look at her eyes.

"You-" he stopped suddenly.

He was visibly transfixed. Neither of them seemed to breathe for a moment.

In one breath both of them whispered,

"Mate."

He touched the side of her face. Yes, the sparks were there. Both of them seemed surprised by it.

He cleared his throat, got up and went towards the door. With his back still turned toward her, all he could say was,

"This isn't over."
