The Hourglass
The day I was born, the day the glass turned.
The life I had one, the time I had learned.
The days I had new, the nights I had old.
The friends I had few, the love I had gold.
The spouse I had soon; the funeral I had then.
The triumphs I had won; the defeated I had been.
The time was then told; the deeds I had done.
The fun I had bold; the rewards I had earned.
Death I had cold; the day the glass turned.
