Chapter Twenty Four.

Kanda's nose twitched when the scent of salt water hit his sensitive nostrils. Whipping his head to the side, he tore his gaze from the window just in time to see a blonde guy pass his Math class.

His eyes narrowed and gaze flickered to Lavi to see the rabbit also watching the doorway, his eyes calculating.

At that, Kanda felt his hackles raise, there was only a few creatures that carried the scent of salt water and as far as he knew, one of them, mermaids, didn't really care for much human Interactions, and they were far from Japan for it to be a kappa.

That means it must be.

"Kelpie." Lavi whispered quietly under his breath, making sure no one else but Kanda heard him.

Kanda fought down a snarl that wanted to rip past his lips, Kelpies ate humans, why the fuck was one walking around like he owned the school.

"I have a bad feeling about this." He muttered quietly, he saw Lavi nod out of the corner of his eye.

"I know, I'll call Alma and Lenalee, Daisya is already with Marie, we'll keep an eye on him." Lavi paused in his whispering, his head tilted to the side as something came to his mind.
"Yuu-Chan... What if he's here with the Noahs, you know as much as I do that they have had creatures working with them in the past."

Kanda felt his entire body stiffen at that and nearly cursed himself for not realizing it soon. What the hell he was thinking, he could-.

Shit..

"Fuck." He cursed, still whispering.
"Usagi... Allen's pregnant.. Fuck.. Fuck..."

"Relax," Lavi hissed.
"Class is about to end in five minutes as soon as the bell rings, we're gonna find him."
He eyed Kanda's tensed form and prayed for the Bell to ring soon.

"You know." Miranda smiled, looking at Allen across from her, hurriedly scribbling down the notes he had missed.
"Now that you're expecting, you're kinda glowing Allen."

The sliver haired boy looked up from where he was busy muttering to himself and writing to smile at his best friend.
"Seriously?." He laughed, leaning back in one of the garden benches.
"Dad, told me that too."
He was smiling fondly at how Neah fawned over him just this morning.

"So how did it go with his dad?." She asked.

Allen smiled beautifully at her and she felt her heart melt.
"It was amazing! The castle was really huge and gorgeous, and His siblings were great." He paused so giggle a bit.
"His dad cried like a baby though,"

Miranda laughed softly, leaning forward to grasp his hand in hers and squeezed gently.
"I'm happy for you Allen, you're getting a second chance to have a family."

He sniffles, fingers clutching back at hers.
"Thank you Miranda." Geez, why does his friends and Yuu like to make him emotional?.

Miranda open her mouth to respond, her words didn't make it past her lips however as a body dropped besides Allen and wrapped a Arm his shoulders.

"Ah, so you're the source of that delicious smell." A rough voice purred, causing Allen to stiffen.

His entire body became stiff, the hairs raising all over his being, behind his neck, his arms and legs.

His mind screaming one thing.

Danger. Danger, Danger!!.

He pushed the arm off him and scooted back just as Miranda sent a blast of magic towards the unknown male. He hurriedly scrambled to reach Miranda's side, who still had her arm raised and a fierce glare on her pretty face, eyes hard and unforgiving on the groaning man on the ground.

"You dare touch someone who is not yours to touch." She snarled and Allen suddenly felt his admiration for his best friends spike.
"What are you doing in a school full of humans, Kelpie?."

Allen's eyes grew wide, he knew what a Kelpie was, but to see one in human form was kinda...weird.

"I could ask you the same thing witch." He snarled suddenly lunging towards them, Allen dived forward and caught him with a kick under the chin, sending him sprawling onto the ground once again

Miranda pulled him back to her and raised her arm in a sweeping motion above her, wordlessly a shimmer was seen before a dome of white was fitted around them.

"I cause no harm to these humans, I am here to study as everyone here else is." Her gaze narrowed.
"What do you really want here?."

Allen watched as the man was on his feet once again and lunging at him, but the shield around them barely flickered.

Miranda was a powerful witch after all.

"Now why would I tell you that?." The Kelpie in human form asked, fists pounding against the shield.
"Then I'll have to kill you."

Allen snorted out a laugh, he leaned against Miranda for a second.
"You." He pointed at the blonde,
"Kill my best friend..pfft... Don't make me laugh."

The blonde gazed at him for a minute, then a slow smirk formed on his lips.
"You know." He leaned against the dome now,
"I could smell it on you, the sweet smell of pregnancy."

"Yea, what of it?." Allen hissed, his small hands balling into fists at his sides.

"If the people who hired me didn't want you alive, I would have tasted that sweet  smelling flesh along with your unborn child.." He grinned.

Allen scrunched up his nose, before his eyes glazed when he felt raw, unadulterated fury rippled through the bond. And then Kanda's voice was in his head.

I'm on my way, stay right where you are, Allen..

Yuu, he's seriously getting on my nerves.

Don't bait him beautiful, it'll only make him angry.

He's saying that he was hired to abduct me and if that wasn't the case, he would have already eaten me and our baby already.

Allen shivered at the massive spike of rage that pulsed through the bond, embracing the fire with open arms.

That mother fucker!.. I'll rip him to fucking shreds then send his body back to his bosses.

So can I bait him until you reach?

Seriously Allen was a little troublemaker

I'm nearly there, damn it love, let him have it..

With pleasure.

He blinked out of the mental communication with his mate, gazing at the smirking water horse for a second before laughing, earning himself a puzzled look from the Kelpie and a amused huff from Miranda.

"You.. Seriously think that you'll live to ever lay a hand on me, or my baby?." He snorted, a hand laying gently on his abdomen, caressing the area lovingly. He gave the man a dull, unimpressed stare.
"Oh my god, whoever sent you to come get me, must really be idiots."

The man snarled, banging his fist against the dome again, hardly making a difference. That was how well experienced Miranda was, she wasn't even breaking a sweat.

"Just wait little human," He growled.
"The witch won't be able to save you for long,"

Miranda and Allen both scoffed, Allen moving forward stand next to the shield, looking up at the man, and rolled his eyes deliberately, riling the Kelpie up even more.

"Miranda is the most powerful witch I know, you couldn't kill her if you tried." He smirked slyly.
"You however, are about to your end."

The Kelpie looked confused for a second.
"What the hell-." He words were cut off as his head was suddenly slammed onto the dome.

Allen had felt the exact moment his mate had entered the gardens along with Lavi. He watched in triumph as Kanda effortlessly threw the man away from him and Miranda's bubble.
He looked up as his mate pressed his forehead against the dome, he shook his head when Miranda went to bring it down, Allen felt his breath hitch at the sight.

Kanda's hair was loose from its Tie, flowing around him like a dark blue blanket, his features were pulled taunt, forehead with wrinkles.
His eyes were red with a dash of blue hidden there.
His teeth were enlarged, lips pulled back making him look rather ferocious.

Allen found that it made him look breathtaking.

Kanda placed a clawed hand on the shield, all his nails were sharp and curved, Allen pitched forward to place his smaller palm on the exact spot, and looked up at his mate.

"Stay. Here." Kanda growled through a mouth full of sharp teeth, his other fist coming to rest beside his forehead as he gazed down at Allen.

His little mate nodded, his eyes flickered over his new form in amazement, then to the side where a huge, rusty colored wolf could be seen lunging for the Kelpie in his true form.

"Lavi and I will take care of him until Alma, Daisya and Lenalee get here," Kanda growled again, looking down at his mate pleadingly.
"Stay here with Miranda, until its safe Allen, even if he's just one, a Kelpie is gonna be hard to kill."

He snarled suddenly, turning around and lashing his leg out to catch the incoming horse, in the middle as it reared up, sending him flying an straight into the jaws of Lavi's wolf form.

"Kick his ass, Yuu." He grinned, sending his mate a kiss.
"Try not to damage him too much, we still need to know who sent him."

"Like fucking hell I will." Kanda snarled before he was lunging forward, both him and Lavi driving their clawed fists into the soft underbelly of the water horse.

It screeched loudly, wrenching itself backwards and away from the two in front of him, he, however didn't see the shadow appearing behind him and neighed as he felt a kick to his head, sending him pitching to the side, slamming into the wall that separated the gardens from the school.

Daisya landed gracefully on his feet, hands in his pockets and a grin on his feet.

"Well, little brother, looks like its gonna be a good fight." He sang.
"Haven't had one in a while."

"Daisya, stop harassing him and look forward." Lenalee said, grabbing his arm to swing herself forward, boots aimed at the lunging horse and kicking him right on the snout.

"Ah." Alma appeared next just as Kanda was tackled. The sharp teeth snapping In his face.
"When did you get involve with a Kelpie, little brother?."

"Shut up Alma," Kanda growled, snapping the horses head backwards and grunting in thanks as Lavi clamped his jaw on the left leg of the Kelpie and ripped him off from him.

Allen watched the battle proceed with wide, intrigued eyes.
All five of them worked like water, moves flowing after moves, not one flattering.

His eyes widen when the Kelpie landed besides the fountain and he hissed.
Lurching forward, plastering himself against the dome and banged his fist on it.

"Alma!." He yelled, seeing that he was the closest to the fountain.
He watched the vampire snap his head towards him and Allen wasted no time and pointed at the injured horse.
"Don't let him get close to the water. He can heal that way!."

The five of them were on the water horse at once, pulling him away and Lenalee quickly tying him up in some kind of glowing rope.

"Its energy draining stands, " Miranda said.

The dome was released and Allen stumbled forwards, and landed in Kanda's arms.
He looked up at his mate, seeing his face once again smooth and handsome.

"That was amazing." He grinned.

Kanda huffed out a breath, leaning down to nuzzle Allen's clean hair with his bloody nose.
"Only you, love, only you."

"Are you guys alright?." Lenalee asked, her hands still clutching the rope.

"Yea, " Miranda Sighed.
"Honestly, I wasn't expecting that early on a Monday morning."

"No one was." Lavi huffed, nuzzling Alma's throat, his clothes torn in places.
"He passed our class this morning and Yuu-Chan and I caught his scent."

"Let get him to dad's castle, then we can question him. First," Daisya said, he gestured to them all.
"Let's get cleaned up."

Allen clutched Kanda's hand as they walked.

He wanted to hear what the Kelpie had to say himself.
