Chapter One

By the time nine, Allen had already clocked out and making his way home, night time was not always the best time to walk home alone, strolling along the dark streets with street lights a mere few metres apart. It still didn't stop things like stealing, kidnapping or rape from happening.

He pulled his jacket around his body a little more tightly and hurried along, he wanted to get home quickly. There are other things that lurked about in the night, the supernatural that not most people believe in. Allen however did, but he wasn't about to risk his life to see anything,

Allen had a scar on the left side of his face, a upside down pentacle, and a brunt arm up to his elbows. He grew used to both things so he didn't really bothered to care about what people thought about his appearance, he lived with his uncles, the only living relatives he had remaining. Allen worked for most of his things, paying of his school fees, helping maintain their house and having a bit of pocket change for himself. It was tough, but it worked for him.

His head snapped to the side as a sudden rustle came from the side of the building he was walking by, looking straight ahead he ignored the sound and walked even faster towards home. Not the night to get involved with the unknown, thank you very much.
Once he spotted his house up ahead, Allen practically sped walked all the way to the front door, praying to which ever God that what ever the thing was at that building didn't follow him home.

Boy, how wrong he was.

He bolted inside and quickly locked the door. He toed off his shoes and hung his jacket up and stretched his arms over his head with a yawn that made his jaw crack. Gosh he was seriously tired.
"Uncle Neah?." He called...
"Uncle Cross?." He tried again.

"In the kitchen." He heard, Allen breathed a sigh of relief before following the delicious scent of chicken stew that flowed from the kitchen. He walked into to see his family cooking away, with steaming and bubbling pots on the stove, it was making him hungry.

"Reach home safely?." Neah asked, turning the stew after adding a few dashing of spices. Allen smiled at him and sighed.
"Yea, there was something behind a building a few blocks down, but I ignored it and walked home even faster."

Cross huffed from where he was cutting a loaf of bread freshly toasted from the oven.
"You should have carried a weapon with you, anything could come after you."

Another thing about his family, they all believed in the supernatural and were always armed and prepared. Allen had a sword he uses to protect himself, Cross a gun and Neah a bow and arrow set. It was one way to protect themselves. Not all creatures were bad though,  his friend Miranda lotto at his college was a witch, she was nervous, bubbly, clumsy and overall a push over but she was a good witch and Allen accepted that, he protected her from those who bullied her.

"Yea, yea I know uncle cross." He rolled his eyes, washing his hands and helping with the rest of the dinner preparations before they all sat down to enjoy the meal.
Allen wished them goodnight before he made his way up to his room,  yawning again as he closed his door. After digging through his drawers for his pajamas, he dragged himself to the bathroom, and hopped in the shower, letting the hot water work its magic. And with a already full stomach with a warm meal and the hot water beating down his back, it made Allen's muscles loosen up, by the time he was dressed and ready for bed, his body was at the point of goo. So as soon as Allen's head hit the pillow he was out like a light. Unaware of the deep cobalt blue eyes watching over him, protectively and longingly.

Next morning he was already at work, since his classes were mostly at evenings.
He had whole day shift today and customers were filing into the cafe his other uncle all but by blood owned. Jerry was one of his uncle Cross's friends, and he loved Allen, therefore giving him a job and having him there helping with cooking and baking the pastries. Allen was an excellent Cook, he learned from the two bests after all.

"Here you go Miss, one medium  coffee, two pumps milk, one sugar and one pump hazelnut." He smiled handing the young woman her cup and collecting the cash she gave him afterwards, handing her the change Allen waved goodbye before turning to face his next customer. Only to literally stop breathing as deep blue eyes connected with his.
Long dark blue hair held up in a ponytail, with bangs framing his face and two long bangs hanging on the sides, pale skin and sharp features, the man in front of him was certainly Japanese. The man's lips tugged up in a small smirk and Allen snapped out of his trance and blushed heavily, blood rushing up to warm his cheeks. He swore he saw the older man inhale deeply before sighing.

"Good morning, welcome to Jerry's cafe can I take your order." He tried to keep his voice even as possible and willed the blush in his cheeks to fade, god this was embarrassing... Someone kill him now.

"Medium coffee, black with one sugar." His deep baritone voice sent chills done Allen's spine, he took a deep breath as he turned to complete the order, trying not to fidget as those eyes drilled a hole to the back of his head. After Adding one sugar as requested, Allen capped the coffee cup and placed it on the counter as he rang up the order.

"That'll be $4.99, sir." He said politely.
The man dug into his pants pockets pulling out a crisp five dollar bill handing it over to Allen as he picked up his cup. Allen watched fascinated as those thin lips wrapped around the cup lid and took a sip of the steaming liquid. He snapped out of his trance and took the money, and handing the man his receipt.

"Have a nice day Mr..." He trailed off not exactly sure what was the mans name. A chuckle had him shivering slightly as the long haired man leaned close to him.

"Yuu, my names Kanda Yuu... You can call me Yuu." He whispered, breath barely teasing Allen's lips. Allen inhaled sharply, and nodded as Yuu pulled back a flash of red in his eyes before he turned away, sending a wink towards Allen as he disappeared out the door.

Supernatural.... No doubt about it, Yuu was a supernatural creature, but which one was he. Allen should be freaked out about this, should be really freaking out, but somehow he wasn't. He doesn't feel anything bad about Kanda, the man was not a bad person. So it was alright.

He took another order as he thought, Yuu Kanda... He was attractive and mysterious and somehow that made Allen more attracted to him a strange pull towards the Japanese man, and he certainly didn't mind that he wasn't human either.

After his shift ending at noon, Allen made his walk to his classes that ended at six.
Most people would already be home by then but he prefer to take the extra lessons.
He was weird like that.
Once entering his class, Allen sat at the back, near the window where he could look out at the sky as the clouds began disappearing allowing a rusted orange color to drift along the empty skies.

As classes finished his made his way home as quickly as he could.
"I'm home!." He called walking into the dining room where dinner was already plated for him.

"Welcome home Allen, anything fun happened today." Neah asked as he sat down, he laughed and told them everything.

"Hmm, sounds likes he's interested as well... Flashing red eyes you say." Cross hummed.
"Only one creature I know with eyes like that."

"Oh, what's that?." Neah as playfully poking Cross on the cheek, the man huffed at his husband.
"Vampire."

Allen's eyes widen in surprise at that, his heart beat raced, not out of fear but of a kind of hidden excitement. He never met a vampire before so this was new and to have one interested in a lonely, abnormal kid like him was a bit refreshing.

"Oh, Allen.... Dark fantasies.." He threw a balled up napkin at his uncle with a surprised laugh.

But he knew that he didn't mind.

That night Allen was outside on his balcony, writing over his assigned easy for tomorrow, his brows frowned as he reread his work before the hairs on his neck raised as if he was being watched. He shook off the feeling, resting the papers down on the small glass table in front of him, shaking his shoulder length hair and tying it into a slightly messy bun on top of his head as he sighed throwing his head back with a groan, he relaxed back into the soft chair he sat on.

With a aggravated sigh, he picked up his paper again and began scribbling down the words, managing not to make errors.

The feeling never really left him.

"Thank you Sir, here's you order.. Come again!." Allen smiled at the last person to order, he slumped against the counter watching as the seated customers chat amongst themselves. He turned around and stretched, sighed as his joints popped and muscles uncoiling. He closed his eyes for a few minutes before the feeling of fingers ghosting along the side of his sensitive neck had him jerking awake.

"What the he-.." He stopped short as he gazed straight into cobalt blue eyes with a smirk on those gorgeous lips.
"Ahh... Yuu. Welcome.. What will you be having?."

Kanda smirked, humming as he leaned forward, taking his time seeing as he was the only one there.
"I'm not really a fan of sweets but I'll try a slice of you're lemon pie and a cup of coffee."

"Pie and coffee, got it." Allen nodded, willing his heart to calm down. Kanda chuckled again, fingertips ghosting along the back of Allen's hand.

"Can I get you also with that order."

The question was purred, and poor Allen squeaked as he heard it, not even controlling his blush as it spread all over his body.
"W-what?." He squeaked again.
Kanda merely licked his lips with a smile.

Allen huffed, eyes lighting up in mischief as he calmly made the coffee and placed it in front of the gorgeous vampire, he then grabbed the pie and a knife, slicing a  piece before slowly dragging the tip of the stainless steel against his index finger letting the blood drip in Kanda's coffee, he looked up into red bleeding eyes and smiled coyly. Allen, in a act of boldness grabbed Kanda by the shirt collar and pulled closer, no one was paying attention anyways. He placed his cut finger against the vampires lips and his eyes twitched to roll to the back of his head when his appendage was sucked into that warm wetness, fangs teasing his cut.

Kanda's tongue licked the blood away from his finger before he released Allen, licking his lips.
"There, you had me." Allen said with a smirk as he boxed the piece of pie.

Kanda grinned as he took a sip of his coffee, his eyes flashing at the taste of Allen's blood, his soulmates blood.
Yes, Allen was his soulmate, every vampire had one, and he had finally found his.
He was pretty sure that the beautiful boy in front of him would figure out it soon no doubt about it.

"I see you've figured it out." He murmured, eyes locking with Allen's.

The white haired boy smiled sweetly at him.
"My best friend is a witch Yuu, I can tell whose human and whose not."

"Hn.."

"Have a nice day, Yuu." Allen said with a sweet smile.
Kanda leaned forward again with a fanged grin.

"Oh, I will... Now that I have gotten a taste of you beautiful... I want more."
He pulled back with a smirk.

"Later my little Moyashi."

"M'not a bean sprout, Bakanda!
My name is Allen Walker damn it!." Allen called after him, face boiling red.

Kanda sent him a heated look before he was out the door. Leaving a flustered Allen behind.
