Chapter Eighteen
"So it there anything I need to pack extra?." Allen murmured against Kanda's ear, they were in his bedroom lying on the bed with his head cushioned against Kanda's bicep. Just a few minutes ago he had finished packing his luggage for the trip.
Going to France to see where Kanda lived and tell his Father the news was kinda nerve racking and he was surprised he hadn't thrown up yet.
"The weather's not going to be that cold, but since I'm used to it I want you to pack extra jackets." Kanda mumbled back, rolling over to wrap his arms around his mate, running the tip of his nose down Allen's sensitive neck earning giggles from his little mate.
"The old man is going to cry... Its going to be great." He finished with a low snicker that sent shivers down Allen's spine.
"Does he always cry when you tell him good news?." Allen asked, snuggling closer to his mate, fingers reaching up to twine around the fringes that lay on both sides of Kanda's face. He smiled as Kanda snorted.
"If, the geezer wails could be heard from miles away when Timothy was born. " he deadpanned.
Allen burst into laughter as soon as his brain understood the statement, letting go of his beloved to wrap his arms around his stomach and roll over laughing.
"Did you hear that baby? Grandpa is going to go crazy over you."
Kanda let a tender smile grace his lips, gazing at his mate with such love and affection that it made his chest hurt.
He had been alone for so long, wondering from country to country, never finding his one and only, he thanked his Lucky stars that he had ended up where he was otherwise he would have never found this beautiful white haired Angel that was laughing and talking to their baby about it's grandfather.
There was a knock at the door and before either of them could answer the door was pushed open and Neah-with his hyperactive self- came bouncing into the room with a huge smile on his handsome face.
"Allen~...Kanda ~" he sang skipping forward. In his hands was what looked like a thick wool coat, it was a pitch black and shining, the light reflecting off it made it look gorgeous.
"Uncle Neah?." Allen inquired, turning his head to look at his uncle questioningly.
Neah smiled rushing forward to scoop up his nephew and squeeze him tightly.
Kanda fell back onto the bed at that and clamped his hand over his mouth to muffle his chuckles.
"My cute baby boy!" He gushed, swinging him around carefully.
"I have got a wonderful present for you." He placed Allen back on the bed and knelt before him, spreading the coat on his lap.
Allen gaped, small hands smoothing along the soft fluffy material, he looked at Neah in silent questioning and his uncle smiled back tenderly at him.
Its made from werewolf fur." He murmured, Allen's eyes widen at that and Neah laughed.
"Mana gave it to me." He said smiling sadly as Allen gasped.
"It was his friend, who had killed a werewolf when they were younger, feral Wolf without its pack is a dangerous wolf, it couldn't be helped it was to far gone that time."
"Dad.. Made this?." Allen spoke softly, feeling Kanda shift behind him to press against his back and peek over his shoulder.
"I never knew."
"It was not really something he liked to share." Neah said, hands reaching up to grasp Allen's small hands in his.
"But I know that he would have wanted you to have it, don't worry its been washed and cleaned so many times that the natural scent has disappeared."
The small white haired boy gripped the coat in his lap and nodded wordlessly, he was glad his dad left this for him to get, it would certainly help when he arrives in France.
Allen leaned forward, and wrapped his arms around Neah, burying his face against his neck.
"Thank you for this, uncle Neah."
Said man laughed softly, pressing a kiss to Allen's temple.
"No need to thank me, this is the perfect opportunity to give you this, use it well love."
Allen nodded, leaning back against a yawning Kanda with a smile.
"I will."
"How's pregnant life going for you?." Lavi asked with a big obnoxious grin on his face.
Allen stuck his tongue out at the red headed werewolf.
"When you get pregnant, I'll ask you the same question." He smiled evilly.
"Though, according to Yuu, Lavi you were supposed to get pregnant a long time ago." He teased.
When Lavi's face became as red as his hair Allen turned away with a smile, laughing softly at Lavi's sputtering behind him. Serves him right, if he wanted to tease Allen he should have expected some teasing back.
Kanda who was sitting besides them, snorted, he was leaning back against his seat with his feet propped up on the desk and hands behind his head, he looked so relaxed, not to mention hot. Allen guess he could give the girls currently staring at his mate a break, after all he couldn't blame Kanda for being so good looking.
"Earplugs." Was all he muttered, not even bothering to open his eyes. Allen grinned and Lavi turned even more red.
"Do you have work today Allen?." Miranda, who was red from giggling asked, to the side of a still red Lavi.
Allen shook his head affirmative while running his palm over his stomach.
"Yea, I got an evening shift today, Jerry said I'm free to take whichever shift I choose so take the evening."
"I'm guessing that Yuu will be with you." Lavi asked, apparently recovered from his blushing phase.
Kanda sneaked a hand around Allen's waist, palm coming to rest on top his mate's on his stomach.
"Of course Baaka Usagi, did you think otherwise?."
"Aww Yuu-chan~" Lavi cooed.
"So possessive."
Kanda let that stupid name slide this time, instead opting to slide his lips along Allen's cheek.
"So?. Last time I checked my little mate seemed to like my possessiveness." He murmured.
Allen blushed deep red and
Lavi just rolled his eyes.
After classes, Allen quickly made his way to the cafe and speed walked as fast as he could into the back without exhausting himself. The little fruit bat inside his shirt was jostled lightly when Allen pulled off his shirt, plastering himself to his stomach when Allen reached for the plain white polo t shirt he had in his locker.
"Kanda," Allen smiled, petting Kanda's tiny head, he tutted when his mate just Nuzzled against his abdomen instead of listening.
"I have to get dressed you know." He stated, lifting the shirt above his head and sticking his head through before his arms.
Kanda flew off him, flying to sit right on top of his head as Allen finished dressing.
Allen just sighed fondly, leaving his mate where he is.
Although that proved to be a crazy idea, cause a ton of people proceeded to gape at him seeing that he had a bat nuzzling into his hair as he worked and wondered why Allen was so unaffected by such a weird behavior for a bat.
John, knowing exactly who the bat was chuckled heartily whenever he passed Allen's way. Jason however remained clueless, he had taken to avoid Allen ever since the incident that happened in the locker rooms, and that was more than fine with Allen, good riddance he says.
"You got a bat on your head." A customer, a teenage girl who looked about Allen's age with light brown hair, glasses that hide ocean blue eyes and freckles decorating her cheeks and nose.
He blinked at her, finally realizing her inquiry and smiled. Reaching up to pat his mate gently.
"Yea, sorry he's a fruit bat, he's mine so its fine."
"So you're not worried he'll bite someone?."
"Heh" Allen winked.
"He's not that vicious, only when provoked though but he hasn't left my head yet and I don't think he's planning to." He placed her order on the counter top.
She gave him a shrug before paying for her drink and heading out the door.
Allen rather liked her.
When it was time for his shift to over, he made his way back to the locker room and pulled his shirt off, sending Kanda flying off his head. He watched as a tiny bat suddenly morphed into his tall, gorgeous Mate, smirking at him gently.
"Ready to go home now?." Kanda asked, picking up Allen's bag and hefting over his shoulder.
Allen smiled, nodding as he took Kanda's out stretched palm.
He couldn't wait for their trip together.
