Chapter 4: Only the Good Die Young

Penny: It tis here! Now first off I just wanted to say that the feedback that I got in one hour was overwhelming. *cough whelming cough* Second someone asked in a different story that I was writing where I get my inspiration from. Now, this is gonna sound crazy and don't quote me on this but, Billy Joel is the only thing that I listen to when I write. Right now I'm listening to You May Be Right by Billy Joel. So, you are getting a Billy Joel induced chapter. BE HAPPY! Yes, I understand that I did the Glee version of the song but trust me there was a reason. I thought it was more of a Roy kind of voice.

Wally P.O.V.

I sat in mine and Dick's shared room blasting Billy. No not Billy Batson, Billy Joel. He only reminded me of Dick and my stupid desitions. It reminded me of the time when I crashed Bruce's gala after I had found out who Dick was. It was the weekend after we killed Jesse.

Girls were surrounding him and he was laughing with them and seemed almost drunk on the attention.

Dick P.O.V. Past

I looked around at everything going on. I sat down on the couch next to two girls who were batting their eyelashes at me. I saw a redhead up on the stage. It was Roy. He and Jason had been getting cozy and it was helping Jay get over me.

"He's doing it!" Damien yelled from the back. Shit. Wally came out from behind me.

"Don't even try to stop him, babe. You know that this is what Jason wanted hell, this is what you wanted. Remember my proposal?" I thought back to when I thought we were going to die and nodded. "Here we go." The music started and Roy was surprisingly good.

"Come out Virginia, don't let me wait you Catholic girls start much too late. Oh but sooner or later it comes down to fate I might as well be the one. Well, they showed you a statue, told you to pray they built you a temple and locked you away. Oh, but they never told you the price that you pay for things that you might have done only the good die young. That's what I said only the good die young, only the good die young." I laughed and swayed along with Wally.

"You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd we ain't too pretty we ain't too proud. We might be laughing a bit too loud. Oh but that never hurt no one so come on Virginia show me a sign. Send up a signal and I'll throw you the line. The stained-glass curtain you're hiding behind never lets in the sun. Darlin' only the good die young whoa ooh ooh. I tell you only the good die young, only the good die young."

"You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation. You got a brand new soul hmmm and a cross of gold but Virginia they didn't give you quite enough information. You didn't count on me when you were counting on your rosary whoa ooh oh. They say there's a heaven for those who will wait some say it's better but I say it ain't. I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints. The sinners are much more fun." He winked. "You know that only the good die young whoa ooh baby hey. I tell you only the good die young, only the good die young."

"Well, your mother told you all that I could give you was a reputation" He nodded over to Bruce making me laugh. "Oh she never cared for me but, did she ever say a prayer for me? Whoa whoa oh. Come out, come out, come out Virginia don't let me wait, you Catholic girls start much too late. Sooner or later it comes down to fate. I might as well be the one, you know that only the good die young. I'm telling you, baby, you know that only the good die young. Only the good die young, only the good, only the good die young." He got down on one knee as Jason cried nodding his head rapid fire in yes.

"Is it weird that I thought that that was the most romantic thing ever?" One of the girls asked.

"Nope!" Damien, Wally, and I said at the same time before we all flashed our rings and winked. One of the girls fainted as Barbra walked over to Damien.

"He's a pretty good singer," I said to Wally. "He was right about sinners being more fun though," I said before pulling Wally into a kiss.

"I helped him pick the song you know," Wally said in monotone after running me to the bedroom. I gulped before smiling.
