I introduce myself to the other flight attendants that I will be working closely with for the next couple of hours. They seem like good people, but I don't blame them for not liking me coming onto the plane and taking over someone else's job in first class. I wouldn't have been happy to be replaced if I were in there position.

Next time I'm a flight attendant for Nico I'm going to ask him to put me somewhere else. That way the flight attendants wouldn't think bad things about me working in first class.

Monroe clears her throat. "The passenger's will be boarding soon."

"Thanks." I look at the door as a group of people step onto the plane. "Welcome aboard Hudson Airways. May I see your boarding pass, please?"

The brown haired, brown eyed woman hands me the boarding pass and I look it. "You'll be sitting in the halfway mark of the plane. Go over to Gale and she will show you to your seat." She takes the boarding pass from me. "Thanks." She walks over to Gale and gets shown to her seat.

Once all the passengers are on board the doors close and Nico's voice comes over the intercom. "Welcome aboard Hudson Airways flight 23, from LAX to JFK. I'm you pilot Nico Hudson and beside me is your co-pilot Bradley Anderson. Before we leave we will play the emergency video. Please watch your flight attendants for demonstrations." Nico finishes talking and the emergency video plays.

I point to the emergency exits when the video tells me and then after that I demonstrate how to use the life jacket.

When the video is over Nico tells us to put our seatbelts on so we can take off. I make my way down the aisle making sure that the passengers have their seatbelts on and that all devices are switched off.

I take my seat behind the first class passengers and put my seatbelt on. "How often do you go to New York, Monroe?"

A smile spreads across her face. "I go there every three months."

"Don't you ever get sick of seeing the same place?"

She shakes her head. "Nah, I like being able to go to different parts of New York. Last time I was here I stayed in Brooklyn, then the next time it was the Upper East Side. This time I'm staying in the hotel connected to the Airport.

"I don't know where I'm staying. Nico booked everything for us. He has important meetings to attend over the next couple of days."

Monroe leans across her seat and says. "How is working for a work-a-holic? I heard it's hard the secretary."

"I wouldn't know. I've been working for him for a week. Before that I was travelling the world, but recently I decided it was time that I lay down some roots and the only place I could do that was in Los Angeles with my brother."

A smile spreads across her face. "Is your brother single?"

"No, he's in love with someone, but he just doesn't know it yet. When he figures it out I'm sure everything will work out for the best for him. If you had to lie down some roots where would you go, Monroe?"

She looks out the window. "New York. It's the only place I could see myself raising kids and enjoying myself, but first I need to get the travelling bug out of my system. I wish I knew a way to get out of doing domestics flights. I want to travel the world and meet new people."

I pick up my purse and pull a card out of it. "Give me a call next week and I'll organize something with Hudson Airways to give you flights across the world. Or I will call my old airline and see if they need someone."

"You'll do that for me?"

"Yes, I believe you deserve a chance at doing something other than domestic's flight. Are you able to stay awake for long periods of time without falling asleep? Or having like an hour rest here and there?"

"I can do it. Thanks for your help, Belle. I can't believe I met someone like you, that's willing to help another flight attendant with moving to a different section of the company."

The plane makes it way down the runway and I look out the window. When the plane lifts off the ground my hand wrap tightly around the arm rest.

Monroe looks at me. "Please, tell me you're not afraid of flying?"

Shaking my head I say. "No, it's just the taking off part I'm a little uneasy with. I remember once we were taking off and a flock of birds were around the plane and one managed to enter the propeller which caused some problems for the plane. We had to turn around for the airport we just left. The passengers had to wait for another plane to take them to Paris."

"Did you end up doing the flight to Paris?"

I shake my head. "I told the bosses I needed a couple days off and they gave it to me. After the break I was refreshed to do another job and we didn't have any problems with birds the next time."

When the belt light turns off Monroe and I stand up. We fill up the trolleys before offering drinks to the passengers. Once all the passengers are taken care of I make a coffee for Nico before knocking on the door.

The door opens revealing the co-pilot. "Hey, Belle. What can I help you with?"

Holding the cup up I say. "I brought Nico a coffee." I step into the cockpit and give it to him. Pulling the nuts out of my pocket I give it to him. "I set these aside for you too, Nico."

"Thanks. Belle."

"You're welcome, Mr. Hudson." Turning my attention to the co-pilot I say. "Do you want anything to eat or drink?"

"White coffee, three sugars and some nuts if you have any left." I walk over to the cart make the coffee. I grab the nuts from the basket and give it to him. "If you need anything else come find me. If not I'll see you in a couple of hours."

Nico turns in his seat. "See you later, Belle." He turns back to the front and sips his coffee.

I close the door before walking down the aisle collecting trash from the tables. When I return to the kitchen I see Monroe leaning over the seat throwing up. "Are you okay, Monroe?"

She shakes her head. "I'm not feeling so well. It's been a while since I've been sick and I have to get it now."

I help her over to the chair and sit her down. "Just rest for a bit. I'll cover our sections until you're well enough to work."

She looks at the passengers. "Are you sure you can cover for both of us? What if Nico finds out that I'm slaking on the job."

"He won't find out. I'm not going to tell him." I open the black bag on the floor. "While your resting can you fill out the customer survey. Nico wants to know how to improve customer service for his passengers. I'll have to hand them out to all the passengers during the flight."

Monroe takes it from me and she begins to fill it out.

I walk down the aisles handing the surveys to all the passengers in first class before asking the rest of the flight attendants to do the same to all the passengers in business class and economy class.
