Chapter~1
It was yet another wonderful day in Fantasy World for the Tomlinson family.
Harry and Louis are, of course, still the loved up couple they are.
You'd think after 18 years of marriage they'd have gotten tired of each other by now. But no, if anything, they continue to fall even deeper in love with one another.
"Come on, Kits! Rise and shine!" Louis knocks on each of his children's doors, "you lot have lessons with your uncle Zayn today."
"Can't we skip today?" Asked a half asleep Aiden, who yawns and leans against his now open door.
"Yeah Pops, it's not like we're rushing to learn these stuff." Henry pops up next to his father.
Zayla on the other hand is already dressed and freshened up, "lessons aren't that bad, guys."
Louis nods, kissing his daughter's forehead, "your sister is right. The more you know today, the wiser you are tomorrow."
"I'm pretty sure dad told you to tell us that."
The blue eyed father smiles, "he sure did, AJ. Now get yourselves ready for the day and meet us in the kitchen."
"Yes, Pops." Both Aiden and Henry grumble.
"That's the spirit, Kits!" Louis cheers them on with much enthusiasm before walking to the kitchen with Zayla.
"And stop calling us your Kits! We're 18!" Aiden calls back, rolling his eyes with a smile.
______
After a delicious breakfast prepared by none other than Harry himself, the curly haired lad made sure to remind his kids of all the basic don'ts Niall used to tell him whenever he went out.
"Don't talk to strangers, don't wander off on your own -you three need to stick together, no picking of berries near the dark forest-"
"Haz, darling, they get it." Louis chuckles at his husband, "you tell them this every time they have lessons. Have a little faith in them, yeah? They're old enough to take care of themselves."
Harry reluctantly nods, sighing, "I know... I'm still getting used to not having to take care of them all the time."
Zayla wraps her arms around her dad, knowing a cuddle is all he needs to settle his nerves, "we'll always be your babies, dad."
"I do not agree to that." Aiden speaks out.
"I'm fine with that." Says Henry, who shrugs at his brother, "being taken care of is nice."
"You only say that because your boyfriend spoils yo-"
"Aiden!"
Henry glares at his brother with an embarrassed blush on his face, his parents giving him unreadable looks.
"You have a boyfriend?" Louis questions with a stern voice.
"Papa, no! He's not-... We're not-... We're just friends, okay?"
"Who's this special lad?" Harry asks with interest, dismissing his husband's strict manner.
"I don't wanna tell you guys... Yet! I'm still not sure if we're like, going to be serious about it." Henry admits shyly.
Zayla pats her blushing brother on the back reassuringly, "I'm positive Jacob feels the same w-"
"ZAYLA!"
"What?" The blue eyed cat girl asks in confusion.
"Jacob huh?" Aiden nudges his brother playfully.
Realization appears on Zayla's face, "oh... Sorry."
"I doubt you are."
"You know me so well." Snickers the youngest sibling.
"Alright alright! That's enough of teasing your brother. Scurry off now before your uncle ditches you three." Louis announces, giving his kids a pointed look.
Harry kisses them all on the cheek and waves goodbye to them as they make their way to Rainbow Lake, "have fun!"
"They always do." Says Louis, who wraps a hand around Harry's waist. "I love you, my darling witch."
"And I love you, my charming shapeshifter."
______
"What are we learning today, uncle Z?" Zayla asks with much anticipation.
"Hmm, why don't we try something new?"
For a few minutes, the raven haired wizard explains what they're going to try to do.
"Now, I want you three to focus on creating a force field around all of you. A force field strong enough to block any spell thrown at your way. Can we try that?"
Zayla nods with her brothers, standing up and taking a deep breath before combining their magic and slowly, but surely, making a dome-like force field around them.
"Great job! Now, I'm going to test how strong and durable it is. Get ready!"
One by one, Zayn hits the dome with all sorts of attacks he surges towards it, and he's proud to see they're easily being deflected by the force field.
"Awesome! We're invincible!" Aiden cheers.
Henry touches their dome in awe, "we're like, hamsters in a hamster ball! Except we can't, you know, move."
"You talk a lot of shit, Henry." Zayla laughs, playfully hitting her brother.
Zayn shakes his head with a smile, "you shouldn't be cursing, young lady."
"I can if I want to."
"Your dad won't be pleased."
"He doesn't have to know." She answers back with an innocent smile.
"And you're lucky to be my godchild. Now take down your force field, I have another spell I have in min-" Zayn's voice cuts off.
The triplets gape as they witness their uncle vanish into thin air.
"Where'd uncle Zayn go?!" Panicked Henry.
Aiden looks around and notices that the sky and their surroundings are changing rapidly, "what's going on?!"
Every second, the sky would turn into day then to night, the trees around them would die out then grow back then die out again. Even the grass out of the dome goes brown before going back to green and so on and so forth.
"Wait... this is exactly what uncle Z told us about on what happens when we do a time spell." Aiden recalls, "rapid changes around the environment, the night to day thing every second... Guys, I think we're traveling in time."
His two siblings share a look of panic, "it hasn't stopped yet." Henry points out. "How many days, months, or even years are we traveling into the past or future for?!"
"I-I don't know... Guess we're about to find out."
And just as the words leave Aiden's mouth, everything around them stops changing, the time of day being night.
"Umh... Should we like, check what year we're in?"
"I guess? Let's get out of this dome first."
Concentrating once again, the three Tomlinson kids take down their force field, taking in their surroundings warily.
"Nothing seems new..."
"Let's go find Dad and Pops, they must be worried sick about us."
Zayla and Henry nod in agreement, following their brother in shifting into their cat forms so they could get to their home faster.
By the time they reach their home, they find that their house was nowhere to be found.
Zayla gasps, "what happened to our home?!"
Aiden takes a closer look, scanning the whole area. There isn't a sign that says it could have been taken down so that only means...
"It hasn't been built yet."
"So, that must mean we went back in time." Henry figures, glancing at his siblings. "Let's try uncle Niall and Liam's place."
"Good thinking, Henry."
Taking off once again, they sprint in a hurry, wanting to know how far into the past they were. For all they know, their parents might have not even been born yet.
They were almost to their uncles' place when they come across a cottage that looked quite familiar to them.
"Wait wait wait! That's dad's old cottage!"
"Shhh! Look over there!" The eldest sibling hushes his brother and sister, pointing to a small figure running to their dad's former doorstep.
Zayla squints her eyes to get a better look at the figure. And once she realizes it's her papa she suppresses a squeal.
"Guys, this is how dad and papa met!"
Her brothers scramble to join her behind the bush she's hiding in, peaking their heads out just enough to get a closer look at what they're about to witness.
Instead of their dad opening the door because of their papa's scratching, he never does, and they watch in horror as the horrible warlock they were told about, Simon Cowell, captures their papa and transports them away.
"...oh my god." Exhaled a wide eyed Henry. "T-that was papa... He has papa. Wasn't dad supposed to take him in? What-.. I don't-?"
"Something is wrong here..." Aiden murmurs under his breath, "we should get back to our time-"
"No!" Zayla protests, making her brothers stare at her incredulously. "Don't you realize how screwed we are? If we go back to our time in the present, we may not even exist! Someone must have done something to mess up our parents' fate, and we're the only ones who can fix it!"
Henry furrows his brows, "are we even allowed to interact with the past?"
"It's a risk we have to take. For both our parents and us. Until we can find someone who can help us rewrite this story to how it should, we have to make sure dad and papa are okay." Aiden states, agreeing with his sister.
With a small shrug, Henry smiles at his brother and sister, "I'm in."
"It's settled then. Who should we check on first?"
"As much as I want to make sure papa isn't hurt, I really want to know why dad didn't answer the door." Admits the second eldest brother.
"Okay. To dad it is then."
