First Day

~John's POV~

Here I am. My new school. I'm not sure if I want to be here. I got kicked out of my old one for fighting. I'm still angry about that, because I wasn't fighting, I was standing up for myself, when a teacher just had to walk out of her classroom. I walk inside the main office, and to a lady sitting at a desk. Her name tag said 'Mrs. Washington'. "Hi ma'am, I'm new, and I was, um, told to come here.

"Of course dear, Jacqueline Laurens, right?" I flinched slightly being called that, I absolutely despise it. I can't even count how many times I've just wanted to scream out 'It's John, not Jacqueline!,' but if I did that, my father would kill me. Literally.

"Um, yes, that's me." I started fidgeting with the hem of my shirt, and rocking from foot to foot. I'll never be able to tell anyone, ever. As much as I wish I could.

"Alright, I'll have Alexander Hamilton show you around." She called over the intercoms for him to come to the office.

All I could think while waiting for him to show up was 'Please don't be hot, please don't be hot.'
After waiting a few minutes the office door opened and in stepped the boy and fuck he's hot.

"Hey, are you're the kid I'm supposed to be showing around?" He smiled at me.

"Um, y-yes, that's me.." Curse my nervousness, why must I have it.

"Cool, I'm gonna call you Jacky."

"O-Okay."

"Well let's go!" He grabbed my hand, and led me back into the hall. "We'll start on this side of the school, then move to the other side." He drug me all over the school, even places where this would probably be my only visit.

I walked into the lunch room, and got my food. I was going to just sit by myself, but I saw Alexander waving me over. I walked over to the table he sat at. There were four guys and two girls sitting there.

The first to speak up was the tallest girl, she had curly brown hair and eyes, and was wearing a pink sweater and blue jeans. "Hi, I'm Angelica Schuyler." She smiled at me.

The next to speak up was a little shorter than her, she had straight black hair, brown eyes that had a sparkle to them, and was wearing a blue sundress. "Eliza Schuyler."

The next to speak up was the tallest of the bunch, and had extremely curly brown hair put up in a ponytail, dark brown eyes, and was wearing blue jeans and a white shirt. "Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette, but you can call me Laf.

"Hercules Mulligan." He was probably the toughest looking of them all, he had on a grey muscle shirt and black jeans. He had short brown hair with a beanie mostly covering it, and eyes so dark they might as well be black.

Another girl walked up to us.  "And Peggy!" I chuckled at her enthusiasm. She had the longest hair of them, it was curly and brown. Her eyes were chocolaty brown. She was wearing a yellow crop top and high waisted blue jeans.

Angelica playfully rolled her eyes. "This is my younger sister, she's only a freshman. We have a few other siblings running around here, but you probably won't hear much about them." I nodded, by this point I had sat down.

Alexander looked at me. "So freckles, what do you like to do?" I assumed he was talking to someone else, ignoring I even existed, like the kids at my other school.

After no one answered him, I looked at him confused. "Wait, me?" He wouldn't want to talk to me.. even though he did ask me to sit with them.

"Yeah, you." He smiled at me. He. Smiled. At. Me. This can't be happening.

"Uh, I like, um, drawing.. and reading.. and I, uh, I sing sometimes.." Darn it, this is a great introduction to his friends. Note the sarcasm.

"Cool, I've never been good at drawing, but I write all the time." He put his arm around Eliza, who put her head on his shoulder. Darn it, he must be straight.

"Yes you do dear." He kissed her cheek, that just about proves it there.

After lunch we all split up, Peggy was in advanced classes, so we were in the same math class. Luckily we were partnered together for whatever we were doing, I wasn't really paying attention. I think I've learned enough for one day.

After school I walked home, glad I didn't run into Alexander or another of his friends. If I could, I wouldn't be going home, but the sooner I was home the better. As soon as I was home I went to look at what my chores were for the day, seeing as I could never finish them in time, I did them in order of importance. I'll spare you the details.

I was in the middle of cooking dinner when HE walked in the door, drunk as always. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, this isn't good. I'm not done with dinner, this won't end well. "Well, well, well. What do we have here? You aren't done with dinner yet Jacqueline." He crossed his arms. This is serious.

"I'm-I'm sorry sir, I-I lost track of time and-" I stuttered out. All the scenarios that could possibly happen ran through my head, I hope it won't be bad today.

"Save it, finish this and be in your room by seven. No dinner for you tonight." That.. that went better than expected. He must have something planned, but I won't think of that right now.

"Yes sir." I said quickly. He went upstairs, presumably to his room. I finished dinner and went up to my room, I was always one for doing what was told. Once I got in my room I started drawing turtles. For some reason it always calms me down after a long, social, talkative day.

I soon fell asleep, listening to my playlist full of musicals.
