Afira's P.O.V
The day had finally arrived! I woke up really early which meant I had more than enough time to eat, get ready and eat again, and wait for Hussain to come to pick me up.
I ran to the bathroom and decided to take a warm, long bath. I turned on the hot water and got into the white bathtub. I slide down into the water, letting it block out the sounds around me. Closing my eyes to the water as the heat soaks into my skin, I leaned against the cream tiles and poured the lukewarm water onto my skin.
I blow dried my hair and got into the outfit I picked yesterday. I did my hair into a neat bun and wore a headscarf. I had twenty minutes left before Hussain comes and picks me up. I jogged to the kitchen to pack some snacks, because who knows when I might be hungry. I grabbed a handful of chocolate bars, big bags of crisps, eight water bottles, a few apples and a packet of biscuits. I stuffed all that into my handbag, and boy, was it heavy. Ok. I know. A lot of food. But what if we get stuck there? We need to eat, right? And don't worry I won't eat this all by myself. Well, I hope not. Just then I heard mom opening the door.
"Afira, Hussain aur Zain ageye!" I quickly ran out of the kitchen and found mom trying to persuade them to come in and have a little drink or tea. But of course, they said no. That's how Asian families are. No offence. Hussain was wearing a black t-shirt, with black trainers, a grey blazer and blue slim jeans. Zain was wearing a white t-shirt, grey trousers that go above his ankles, white sneakers and navy blue blazer. Not very bad boys. Not bad.
"Afira. Let's go, I got to pick up others too." Hussain said.
"Yeah. Khuda fiz Ami!" I hugged, as well as kissed my mom on the cheeks and left.
I was in Hussain's class but this time I did not fall asleep in his car. The three of us were talking about random stuff: Chocolate, movies, songs and clothes. Zain was being absolutely hilarious! He made the atmosphere normal, not awkward. I couldn't help but laugh at every stupid comment he made about irregular people. In no time we arrived at Tallaha and Aaliyah's house. Both of them were dressed in their comfortable and decent clothes. Both of them got into the car with a bit of nervousness, with a bit of excitement.
Aaliyah tapped me and then pulled me closer t her, "I'm so glad Ibrahim isn't in the ar with us. I would've suffocated."
I chuckled, "don't be so dramatic. He's really nice."
"I know, but I- Never mind." She turned around and faced her younger sister, Tallaha.
"How long is it until we arrive at the haunted house?" I asked Hussain.
"In five minutes princess," he replied back, not taking his eyes off the road.
I huffed.
"Why? Are you already bored with me?"
"Indeed I am," I stated, honestly.
"Too sad, too bad. You'll be with me the whole day because we're partners, remember?" I could sense his smirk on his lips growing as he said that. However, I didn't answer back to him, I didn't want to waste my time and energy on him.
Finally, within five minutes we were all stood outside the haunted house, where Sana, Aquil and Ibrahim were waiting for us. The haunted house really looked haunted, it was big, almost like a castle. Shivers ran through my back, my heart told me not to go in, but to just go back home, eat cake and watch t.v. But I ignored that cowardly feeling. We all just nestled in front of the house, staring at it, while holding our entry tickets in our hands. I could tell we weren't all sure if we wanted to go in or not.
