"When I first met you I didn't know you were going to be this important to me."
Afira's P.O.V
Before entering the dining hall, I pulled my veil on top of my head and then went in. I served everyone pancakes that Zara had prepared this morning. "That's enough beti, take a seat," Abbu told me, I took a seat at the end of the table. "Where is Sain?" I shrugged, probably upstairs? Truthfully, on a normal day I'd my questioning myself for my foolish act but today... I'm feeling proud. Maybe because revenge is sweet?
"I'm here." Hussain called out, making heads turn towards him, he casually accelerated from the stairs and took a seat beside me. While I served him, he greeted everyone. "Good morning babe," he whispered, so I could only hear him. I didn't answer, but kept eating my pancakes, covered in syrup, with some blueberries around it. While no one was looking, he then leaned in to kiss me, my eyes widened and my hands slapped his mouth.
Everyone gave Hussain suspicious looks, while he rubbed his lips, "I think I burnt my mouth," he said foolishly.
"Drink water," Ammi instructed. He did so.
"What was that for?" He asked.
"Sorry, reflex action." He rolled his eyes and then pecked my lips. "Hussain, have a little shame," I said, giving him a dirty look.
"What can I do jaan? You just make me feel like that." He hissed.
"Don't ever. In your right mind. Call me 'jaan'. Because I will not hesitate to punch you." I threatened him. Before he had a chance to say anything, the doorbell rang, "I'll get it, excusing myself from Hussain. I darted to the door, opening the door to find a girl, I inspected her, she had light brown hair and had one a very cute beige blazer and very cute heels. How may I-" I couldn't finish because she bolted inside the house.
"Hussain!" She screamed. Excuse me?
"Shanu!" He shouted. Excuse me? They both got into a bear hug. Excuse me? I shut the door and walked into the hall.
"Shanaya beti, you are here? How?" Ammi asked Shanaya.
"Aunty, I haven't visited you and Hussain in a while, I missed you all." Right. Now that you have met them you can go back home. I only said that in my head.
She hugged everyone, but she got to Zara, Zara wasn't very keen to hug her.
"Now Hussain we have so much to catch up on? You said you have a wife, right? Where is she?" She busted with questions. Hussain pulled me to introduce to Shanaya.
"Shanaya this my wife, Afira, Afira this Shanaya my best friend," Shanaya pulled me into a tight hug. Let go. Let go. I sound so impolite.
"It's so nice to finally meet you, you're so lucky to have a husband like Hussain." I mentally rolled my eyes.
"It's nice to meet you too." I gave her tight smile.
"So where am I staying?" She blurted out.
"In the guest room,"
"Great, let's go, we have so much to catch up on!" She jerked him with him. I turned around, talking all the plates into the kitchen.
"Afira, leave the plates. You have to get ready for your Walima." Ammi called out, "Come with me," I followed her lead.
Ammi dressed me up, I was wearing a long red lengha, looking like a new bride, once again. She put the dazzling red tikka on my head, I felt like I've just been crowned.
Then inserted the bangles in my hand.
Just then Zara and Shanaya came in the room. "Aunty, everyone is here, we have to go to down," Shanaya told us. Ammi nodded, Zara and Shanyah came to my side and took me down. Zara was wearing a red net saree, looking as elegant as ever! Whereas, Shanayah was wearing purple lehnga, the blouse was just below her chest, with long sleeves, while the skirt had floral patterns. It was also very stunning.
"I wonder where Sain is," she thought out loud. "Zara, have you seen Sain?" Zara shook her head, I took a seat on a giant gold, sparkly chair. "I wonder how he looks in his white suit," she thought out loud, once again. "You know Afira, I've always had a crush on Sain, we even planned out we were going to get married and have 2 girls, no boys," she giggled, remembering those sweet 'moments'. "I hope I find a husband like Sain," Really? Are trying to get me to hate you more? She then wiped a tear from her eyes, immediately I felt fresh guilt sprouting inside of me.
"What happened Shanayah? Are you ok?" I asked, concerned.
"I'm just... Upset... You're so lucky to have Sain... But all my dreams of being with Sain... Is now... Crushed." She stammered, are you serious? "But, I want him to be happy. With you... Excuse me, I need to go to the washroom," she excused herself and disappeared into the crowd. Is it even possible to hate her any more than I already do?
We were all in one big room, only the women, meanwhile the men were in the other room. People came and greeted me, blessing me and giving me gifts. We all ate and prayed. It was finally over. Everyone was leaving one by one. Shanayah had come back, but now was talking to Ammi. Zara helped me up and took me to my room, where I found Hussain already changed. "MashAllah Mrs. Asif, looking beautiful," I could feel my cheeks lightening red just by his comments.
"Yeah, yeah, thanks," I walked into the bathroom to get changed, wiping all my make up off, combing my hair an into simple pony tail. I came out wearing a silky gold night gown. I saw a movie in Hussain hands: Neighbours 2; his left hand was holding a bag full of food. "Where are you going?" I asked him, curiously.
"I'm watching a movie with Shanayah," he said, I felt a burning jealousy inside of me. I've never felt this before. I hated the fact that Hussain had the power to make me feel different emotions. "Do you want to join us?" He asked, snapping me out of my train of thoughts.
"No thanks, you can go watch it yourself; besides I'm too tired." I tried to play it cool, but I guess he fell for it because he just shrugged his shoulders and left the room.
I clambered into bed. I lay there, snuggling up in my sheets waiting for myself to slowly fall asleep. The bed felt cold. Isn't that so ironic? That's how I'm feeling right now. Literally. I kept thinking about Hussain and Shanayah... I should've gone to watch a movie with them. Who am I kidding? Am I getting too possessive? I needed someone to slap me. I could feel myself losing my mind. I had to get grip of myself. I just need to sleep. The only way I can get a break from these thoughts.
Time flew by. I counted sheep, trying to call sleep in... Or maybe I used this as an excuse to wait for Hussain... I don't know, but I had been at least 2 hours since they've watched the movie, I'm pretty sure it's finished by now. So where is he? I let out a sigh, not being able to hold my eye lids any longer. They weighed more than a ton. I fell into a deep sleep.
Suddenly, a noise had woken me up. I open my eyes slightly to see a small yellow light glowing the room. I saw Hussain's figure. It's probably 3 am. Why is he so late? I didn't bother to ask him, instead I kept quiet and closed my eyes, forcing myself to go back to sleep. I could feel his weight on the bed as he got in. I could feel his eyes digging through my skull. I could feel him coming closer. My heart pounded. Ready to explode in any seconds now. I froze on my spot, not daring to move a muscle. I could hear Hussain breathing, behind me. I was frozen on the spot. I could feel the hairs on my arms stand to attention, as a militia of chills march down my spine. He came closer and then... He placed a small peck on my cheeks.

Ok. All those pictures could've been annoying, but it's fun. :P
So how did you like this update? Nice? Again, what do you think of Shanayah? Still evil?
Tell me your thoughts!
2 more chapters left!!!!
Am I going to write an epilogue?
Yes, InShaAllah.
- Is there going to be a sequel to this book?
The answer is 100% NO. I'm sorry, I just hate the idea of thinking that I'm either killing my characters, which is painful or making them old. Which sounds weird. I know we face this in reality, but for now, I wan tot create an image, where they are alive. So no sequel!
Anyways, until next time! Love ya all!
