Chapter Fourteen

Triton

I woke up around 3 AM on the couch and figured I should go to bed. Dad and Sally were long passed out to couch next to me, Tyson, Percy, and Grover not in the room.

So I got up, and went to what I thought was my room, but was actually the room next to mine.

It was Percy and Grover's room. I didn't even realize they were sharing a room until I opened that door up, too. Found out why, too. It wasn't hard to figure out.

They were cuddling.

Figuring it made enough sense, I just went to my room and passed out for the night.

Annabeth came over the next day, though, and I asked Dad about Grover and Percy before she came over because I wanted to know if I just missed something but he assured me that he just found out last night, he's not out at camp or anything. Sally knows. We were good to tell Tyson.

So, when Tyson saw them asleep because Percy at least was on the same sleep schedule Estelle was and she was asleep, and they were cuddling, we told him.

Thankfully, for Percy's sake of not being out at camp and us wanting to respect that and keep it in the family, they were awake when Annabeth showed up. We were eating breakfast and I've never see Tyson so cautious with giving somebody a hug then he was when Annabeth showed up.

Percy and Grover definitely cut anything that could be linked to affection when she showed up, though. Which was a little sad to see as somebody that knows because like, I get why coming out can be hard, I just wished it wasn't.

And to his ex girlfriend... Probably doesn't make it much easier to do.

Watching it was like a comedy, though, I'll admit to that. Because Annabeth definitely still likes Percy and she wasn't ashamed of it but she'd like, know her boundaries. Plus she knew that he's not a big physical contact person lately so it cut that out.

But Grover also had to watch himself. And even Percy did here or there with Grover.

I spent most of the day wanting to laugh.

I respect my boyfriend more than anything else in the world and I understand that he's not ready to come out.

But he had to catch himself a few different times between lunch and dinner while we were out swimming because Annabeth would go underwater for a moment but she has goggles so we were restricted to like, blowing kisses.

It was a struggle.

But Annabeth went to the bathroom not long after we decided to just tan on the beach for a little and dry off. During this time we also waved and said goodbye to Poseidon, Triton, and Tyson because Poseidon has a meeting tonight I think? I don't have to be at that one so I don't really know.

Either way, Percy and I got to hold hands for a solid few minutes before Annabeth came back, which got me through the rest of the day.

She did spend the night and slept in what was Tyson's room so it's a miracle that she didn't find out, but she didn't and she left before we woke up the next morning being she had to be back for breakfast. We don't need to be back until dinner so we had time.

Then again we slept until Sally woke us up for lunch.

You can always rely on Sally Jackson to make amazing food, though.

Sally actually went with us to camp, though, just driving behind us because every July and January she's supposed to meet with Chiron about Percy's anxiety and mental health and what not. Keep camp updated. Every parent is supposed to, most do it over an IM, though, being out of state.

Sally Jackson, on the other hand, brings candy for everyone and sweets from the bakery and it's the one time they let us break the no outside food rule because Mr. D and Chiron also get some.

Of course she brought Estelle with, though, and Sally can get in because she's here every year for a day, maybe two. But Estelle is, you know, a baby. So she shouldn't be able to get in as most assume.

But she's the daughter of Poseidon.

We offered to take her mainly so we could play with her for a bit longer before we wouldn't see her for the rest of the summer and Sally went to Chiron's office as we had to check in with Mr. D and just tell him we're back. We're alive.

"Oh, Patrick, George, you're back!" Mr. D remarked and we had to roll our eyes because what else do you do?  "And... Oh? Who's... Who's this? Or really, how did she get in?"

"This is my baby sister, Estelle!" Percy told the director or camp as she was having the time of her life on Percy's shoulders. I don't know if he wants kids, but I wouldn't be opposed. "she came with Mom because we all just came from the cabin, but she's uh..."

Percy paused for a second.

"She's also Poseidon's," Percy broke the news. "so in like, 12, maybe 13 years? You'll have a really easy job. Unless she wants to come sooner then... That's mom's decision."

"Oh!" Mr. D exclaimed. "Alright, cool, I'll write that down for the old man."

With that done, we headed to Percy's cabin with Estelle and not five minutes later, we got a knock on the door.

We weren't doing anything besides playing with Estelle, but visitors just weren't encouraged right now. After this week, Percy needs a minute. It's was an intense week for him. Just constantly being around people.

So, with his sister in his arms, Percy answered the door to see Nico and Leo standing there.

"Nico, Leo!" Percy said, opening the door a bit more to let them know they could come inside. "Hi! What's up?"

"Oh, it's Estelle, thank gods," Nico remarked. "Sorry, we saw that you had a child with you that's not old enough to be a camper and panicked a little. Is your mom okay?"

Nodding his head, Percy let Leo and Nico inside.

"Yup!" My boyfriend insisted, closing the door behind them and walking back towards where I was. "She's just talking with Chiron, like she does every July. She'll come get Estelle before she leaves. I didn't think about walking across camp with her. I don't have kids. Don't think I ever will unless like, I adopt or something."

I wouldn't mind that.

"Valid," Leo responded as they sat down with us. "According to a lot of adults getting pregnant can be hard and the system absolutely sucks, but kids need to be adopted."

That's also a good point. Finding a surrogate mother would also be...

Well maybe. It probably depends on who's married or in relationships if we ever decided to have kids.

Not for a long time, we're only 18/17 (I'm a few months older than Percy, born in May), Percy has bad anxiety, I have some jobs I want to get done before I settle down (not meaning without getting married, just before starting a family), and kids are also expensive.

"Yeah," Percy agreed. "Maybe one day, but not for a long while."

They didn't stay for long (it was a little weird to sit with them because I think Leo likes Nico and Nico's... Who knows about him, honestly), and so we were able to just play with Estelle for a bit before Sally came to get her and she was excited to see her mom, but she also didn't want to leave Percy.

It was sweet.

He's a good big brother.
