sans p.o.v.

i finished shooting at one of the amalgamates, when mk yelled. "Hold on dude!" -is he talking to me? - i turned around quickly and saw him staring at the end of the edge. he frankly looked everywhere, and then turned again his gaze to the bottom. one amalgamate threw a rock near him, making the rocks close to him collapse. "No!" he yelled again. -what? - i widened my eyes and runned next to him. i saw a small and familiar figure making its way towards the lava, i saw her calm expression. then she turned to face the lava, i caught her with my magic before she fell into the river. more amalgamates tried to hit us, but i blocked their attacks with a wall of bones. using my magic, she floated towards us, slowly. she felt limp, but i think she had gone unconscious.

"hey, mk" i said while taking (y/n) out of my magic. he hums, "stay nearby, alright?". i turned to him and he nodded.

"Put me down" i looked over to (y/n) who meekly tried to free from my embrace. her eyes were glossy, full of tears, and her voice was very low, almost inaudible. i helped her to her feet.

"k guys... i'm going to make a ball of bones, so stay near." i said, they nodded. i lifted my hand and made a ball of bones surrounding us. "one" i started. "two" i looked to the amalgamates "three! now!" i yelled. we started running as fast as we could, i held the ball with us at all times. many amalgamates tried to rip it, but the bones pierced on their bodies. their glitchy screams ringed inside my skull, and attacking the ball with their fire rocks. mk looked at them and was losing his speed. "mk! don't look at them!" i yelled at him he snapped out of it and faced forward. we runned until we reached an intersection, the amalgamates tried to grab the ball with their huge claws, but the bones pierced them, some roared in pain and others didn't care and continued. "here!" i yelled and pointed towards the left, they nodded and we runned again we turned again to the right returning to the first intersection and then we went to the other path. we reached an elevator, i clicked it open and we step inside. the elevator starts moving just when the amalgamates found us, it moves up and then to the side. -huh.. weird... i pressed the top one...-

it soon opens, we go out and mk runs away. i glance to (y/n) who refuses to meet my gaze, she was panting from all that running, her eyes keep that glossy look, and she hung her head low. i cleared my throat and spoke "um... how was the fight?" i asked rather casually. she just looked at me for a second and returned to her past state. -what's going on her mind?-

(J) Tell him! it was james, he sounded almost demanding, but he had a little respect, sadness and kindness mixed.

Tell him what, huh? (y/n)... she sounded, so broken, even more broken than i had heard her before.

(A)W-we know... but he doesn't... I-I-I think he's going to understand... like you said before! Right guys? annie said with her voice full of hope, just like always...

(L) Yeah! I mean... it isn't a big deal, or it is? reassurance... he doesn't believe even in his own words; then why does he try?

Leave me alone guys... there's nothing you can do about it... not even him. she knew that... but refuses to show it even inside her head. Besides we have to continue forward and reach Mettaton's place, and then we have to capture that goddamn thing before any more innocent monsters die! SO PLEASE, HUSH IT GUYS! she shoved past me, but not too aggressive, she knew that i listened to their conversation, and she just wanted to stay away from anybody... i know that feeling. but even if you try, there'll always be somebody around willing to offer their hand, and when i say always, i mean ALWAYS.

i followed her, she stomped with her arms closed, huffing and grunting occasionally. we reached one of my hotland stations, i teleported behind it and waved her over. she just stared at me for a while and turned her gaze towards the ground while walking over. "hey... ya hungry?" i asked. she glanced at me and nodded meekly. "'k one 'cat coming up" i said while making up her 'cat, she looked at me with curiosity, i couldn't help but smile more. i finished and had it to her. "bone-apetit" i winked. she smiled faintly, poked the small ears of the 'cat and started eating it. seeing her eat, made me think... i wonder how her life was at the surface, she had never talked about it, but i guess it was fine... right? i bet that there were many things that she liked, along with things she hated. but, hey! that's normal, even here... some hate snowdin because it's cold, others waterfall because they can't touch water, and others hotland... well because it hot as hell. literally.

She finished her 'cat and held her head in her hands.

(J) I think it is time for you to tell him... okay now i didn't want to listen, but i did... -welp-

Maybe later James... besides I'm scared, what if he doesn't understand? O-or I don't know... I break... in front of him... -break? she's making me worried-

(L) Yeah! I'm totally with James! You should tell him now! This is good moment to talk!

(A) Yup! Tell him... I know he'll understand...

(y/n) sighed defeated Alright... but... if something goes wrong... I won't doubt to jump into the lava this time, deal?

(J,L,A) Deal

(y/n) cleared her throat and sat straight. "U-uh... S-sans? I-I..." she sighed and smacked her head on the counter, she stayed like that for a while. and grunted annoyed. Do I really have to do this?

(L) You made a deal!

UGH!!! Fiiiiineeeeeeee (y/n) now raised her head and looked at me in the eye sockets "Alright... Uh..." okay... I'll do it... but I need a little help.

(J) *sigh* alright young lady... Hmph... try to recall the question he told you! The one from the fight...I think that might help

"About the fight... it was fine, I guess" she said while shrugging and playing with her fingers.

i nodded "so you finally answered? heh... that's okay, i saw that you were a little shaken up. and besides seeing that you're close to death makes you see everything in new perspective" i said while leaning on the counter.

(y/n) hummed in response. "Yeah... anyways... um... I wanted to apologize for being rude at you at the elevator, so... I'm sorry for pushing you" she finished and hung her head low.

"oh... don't worry about it. i saw you quite stressed, so it is understable" i said, and gave her a bright smile.

Your P.O.V.

"B-but... that wasn't the reason I was a little mad..." I said lowly-Ugh!! Guys? Do I really have to tell him NOW? I don't feel like doing it! can I please do it later? Really guys...- Right now I feel like crying, but I can't let Sans see me like that, I know he would understand or whatever! But really, it is a very touchy subject to me right now... I could tell him maybe when everybody is out of the underground... if we find all the leaves. -Guys? Really... I will tell him, but not now! Please! - none of them answered me, are they thinking or are they ignoring me?

"s-so what happened back there?" Sans asked cautiously, and leaned more on the counter. -Please!!! Guys! Really! Not now! I'm not ready! Please! - I yelled inside my mind, and I felt a lump on my throat. I fought back the tears, and looked to the sides to find something to say, or at least something to distract my mind from the feeling. Sans obviously saw this, I heard him walk besides me, I felt a bony hand on my shoulder, spinning me to face him. "hey... what's wrong?" Sans asked me. I didn't respond, I kept staring at him, and sighed. I turned away from his burning gaze.

"J-just... I-I..." my voice cracked "M-my bro/sis... they" Tears scaped from my eyes, the ones I refused to cry, the ones I never cried for him/her. Sans grabbed my chin, and moved it gently, so I could meet his gaze. His eye sockets were full of concern, and his smile faltered.

"hey, calm down... please, tell me what happened." he asked softly.

I took a deep shaky breath and finally told him what I feared to tell. "D-do you k-know w-why I-I fell h-here?"

Sans shock his head "no, why did you fell here?" he asked kindly and removed his hand from my chin and grabbed my hands.

I turned my gaze to our hands and then to him, and back again to our hands. "I-I run a-away from home..." more tears came, and fell like waterfalls "B-but, n-not bea-beacuse m-my famil-ly hate m-me o-or a-a-anything, I-I was lo-looking f-f-for revenge" my voice cracked, and was pretty dificult to speak with all my sobbing. I glanced to Sans, who had his eye sockets open wide. I wipped some tears away with the flat of my palm and continued. "S-some gang k-killed... t-they ki-killed... m-my... bro/sis. I-I was so a-angry t-that I-I s-scaped a-at night l-looking for them, s-so that t-they could p-pay. A-and, I-I didn't p-planned it w-well. S-so I runned, t-trying t-to scape f-from t-them to Mtt. Ebott... b-but I fell" I finished and covered my face with my hands, I sobbed on them. Soon a apir of arms surrounded me in a hug. I removed my hands from my face, and rested my chin on Sans' shoulder. I returned the hug and cried my heart out.

Sans' hand rubbed my back in slow small circles. "i... i'm sorry t hear that" he said and hugged me tighter. "i think i know what you need" he said and and parted a bit so that we could face each other. I sniffed and stared at him. "would you like to take a walk? or a small break?" he suggested. "or some nice cream? like last time?"

"S-some nice c-cream is fine" I said while wipping some tears. Sans smiled and hugged me again.

"alright... want to come along?" he asked. I just nodded. Sans held both of my hands and we teleported to waterfall with nice cream guy. "heya, a big one of f/f please" he ordered. Nice cream man nodded happily and served the nice cream. He gave it to Sans who payed for it, and we teleported to the waterfall with the willow tree and ate the nice cream.
