Your P.O.V.
I slowly opened my eyes, I was lying face first on the floor. I was greeted by a faint light coming from above. The floor felt strangely soft, like if it was made of some kind of silk. The only thing I saw was my right arm and...? A golden flower? -This is not how I have expected heaven to be...- I tried to get up using my hands, my head throbbed and I felt an unbearable pain on my left arm. I squealed and collapsed again to the floor. -Okay then...let's try something else- I couldn't try that again, so I rolled until I got a view of the ceiling. Light was seen from a faraway hole, the one I think fell. Now it was noon, I fell here last night. A bed of golden flowers was growing under the only source of light... now using only my right arm, I tried to seat up. I looked around, the cave had some pillars going from the bottom and halfway to the top, vines were growing around them. My left arm hurt horribly, I took my jacked off carefully and look at it. -oh f*ck- broken... it was broken... the bone sliced through my skin, I could see the sharp edges coming from the inside of my arm. I ripped off both of the jacket's sleeves, and warp them around my wound tightly, drops of blood fell into some flowers. I got up, and tied the rest of my jacket on my waist -Maybe it could be useful-, and continued through the cave.
The second room was like the last one, one source of light and a lonely golden flower growing on a big, green area. I walked up close to it, my footsteps echoed through the cave. AS I neared a face appeared on the flower, a smiley face. -What the hell!?- I inched even closer, now I was seeing the face directly in the eyes. They looked empty. "Howdy!" -did the flower... just... talked? I'm definitively dead- "I'm Flowey! Flowey the flower!" the flower... it was taller than the other ones I saw, and I lightly touched the golden petals, inspecting each one of them. "Uh... could you... could you please stop that?!" he sounded a little disgusted and irritated. I got my hand to myself and apologized. "Okay, never mind... You must be so confused, I'm saying by the way you just touched my petals. It is like you've never seen a flower talk before! Are you new to the Underground aren'tcha?" -Well do I look familiar to you?!- I didn't want to sound rude to him so I just nodded "Oh golly! Well... little old me should teach you how things work here!" he winked. Suddenly a floating heart appeared in front of me, it looked like if it was made of glass, a white heart with black marks on it, like if someone had just splatted it with paint.
"W-what's that?" I asked pointing at the floating heart. The flower, or Flowey seemed confused as well.
"T-That's your soul! The culmination of your being! But... it seems that you have a lot of hate, and... no trait at all... Hmph... how unusual. All humans and monsters have a trait... And you, you are the first one I have ever meet with no trait and... halfway full of hate" He started to smile even more in a devilish way "Hate... Then... you must really want to hurt somebody... kill somebody..." he laughed, a maniac laugh, and it filled the whole room. I covered one ear and stared at Flowey. Spiked vines came from the earth, two trapped both of my legs making me collapse. Two more came for each of my arms, Flowey dig the spikes on my skin, it send a stinging pain on my arms and legs. A thicker one came for my torso, and a small one for my soul. I struggled, nothing happened. Flowey started to pull each of my body parts, I tried not to scream, it pained a lot. "Hah Hah Hah, I only want your soul, you know... I don't really have one, and I REALLY like yours, all that hate can make me finally kill all the monsters on the Underground."
"But don't really need a soul to kill everybody! Killers don't have SOULS!" I said trying not to scream.
"I need to gain LOVE to do that, and I need a soul to gain it! So stop complaining and give it to me!" He laughed again and started to squeeze my soul. It stated to crack, I couldn't contain my screams anymore. "Hah Hah Hah, oh don't worry I won't do that to it when it is finally mine"
Two yellow eyes and a fireball appeared behind Flowey. The fireball struck on Flowey's back, setting some of his petals on fire. He grunted in pain and set me free, I fell on my left arm, I grunted and looked at Flowey. Flowey used his vines to turn off the fire. He turned around and launched for the yellow eyes, another fireball stuck him in the face. He looked even angrier, a circle of fireballs surrounded him, he looked at them and gave up. "Please As-"a female voice started and Flowey cut her off.
"Don't call me that!" The vines slowly returned to the earth and Flowey looked at me "Lucky you, but this is my first attempt to steal your soul. See you soon." He smiled devilish again and then disappeared into a hole.
The owner of the yellow eyes came into view she was a goat-like woman. She looked at where Flowey was and sighed. Then she turned at me "Salutations small one. I'm Toriel, caretaker of the ruins. My apologies, Flowey don't really like humans, or monsters. I come here and see if anyone falls, I should have come earlier."
"I-I'm (Y/N), thank you for saving me" She gave me a patient smile and helped me to my feet. A big spike was still stuck on my left leg -Great, now my leg is also injured, just great- Toriel took it out in a gentle and careful way. She took my hand.
"Please come with me, I'll guide you through the catacombs" she said while turning around and walking to the door behind her.
"Wait... catacombs?" Is she going to do something to me like Flowey?
"Oh! Don't worry, we don't use them anymore, since no body is here, except for me and other small monsters!" -Okay then...-
Toriel guided me through some puzzles, and then made me talk to a training dummy... I didn't really wanted to talk, so I just stared at it. A minute passed and it fled. I was as confused as Toriel, it seems it is a monster as well. We continued and she didn't let me do the spike puzzle, I said to her many times I already knew the answer! It was on the other room's floor the whole time! She gave me a phone and left me alone in another room.
It was boring to wait for her, and all the calls I got where from a dog... I didn't knew she had a dog, I didn't even know there where dogs down here! Oh well, maybe is just a dog-like monster. I got up and started wondering around the ruins, there were a lot of leaves around. I continued through, there were even more puzzles. -Ugh, why??- I found a lot of different monsters, I tried to be nice to them, which worked well.
I continued forward and got to a maze, the walls were full of scratches and vines. The walls, didn't look like they were made of stone or something like that, I touched it and passed my fingers across it. It felt warm and wet, and definitively not made of stone. I tried to move some of the vines to see clearly, it still looked normal, rock combined with metal and white shining particles. -Nope, not stone...-. I keep on moving forward, there were a lot of intersections, I went left, two rights, another left down a long corridor, and right. I got to an old fountain, an angel statue was on the center, it was broken on the head, wings and arms, it had vines all over it. I sat on it for a while, and checked on my left arm and leg. Still bloody, my leg looked like it was going to infect and my arm like it's going to fall over at any time soon. -I need to get out of this cave... but I don't think I should go back... Toriel looks like a nice monster, maybe I could stay with her, well if she wants to. I really gave up on humanity a long time ago, monsters seem like to be more civilized, and they don't try to kill you when they have the opportunity... Well except for Flowey...- *sigh* "Well, Heh... I will stay with Toriel, then" I whispered to myself.
A loud sound startled me, the sound of metal with metal, continued by a rolling sound. I looked around to see from where the sound came, I didn't see what it was. The walls of the maze started to move making another path to the end of this room. -oh no...- I thought of calling Toriel, but on the end of the line I could hear the muffled calls of Toriel and the snore of the dog, that dog still got her phone. Then the maze stopped moving with a clicking sound, -let's keep moving, then- I went through the new corridor made behind the fountain. I made my way through a new section, in there were big, cylindrical, glass containers, some broken stones and a box. I opened it up, it didn't have anything, but it looked nice, it has eight sections, one of them, in the middle. It could became useful, I keep it in the jacket's pocket, and returned to the maze.
---------------------------
It took me like half an hour to complete the maze, it moved at least six times, and I got to the fountain like three times. The new room had an intersection, one way to the left and ahead. I went on ahead, and saw a small monster, Froggit. He hopped close and stared at me. "Hi, Froggit. Have you seen Toriel?" He only croaked, and hopped to the next room. I followed him, in there was a big painting of a city, and a toy knife lying on the floor. I ignored it and stared at the painting. The city, it looked so beautiful, I wonder if that city is here on the Underground. Froggit croaked again and exited the room, I went out too and headed to the other path.
In the center of the room was a leafless, black tree, with red leaves around scattered on the floor. The tree had tiny red leaves, as I got closer they began to became bigger and bigger -are they growing? Or is just me?-. I lied next to the tree, and then, as I lied, the leaves fell. I got covered up on red leaves. I sat up quickly and removed some leaves from my hair, the leaves had a circular shape.
They looked like an apple, as I got up and removed the leaves from my clothing, one in particular caught my attention. The leaf had a different shape, it was a heart-shaped leaf.
I held it carefully, and looked at the edges and felt the softness of it. I felt a sudden rush of determination in me. -Okay that's weird- I had never felt this way before, I felt like I could do anything, I felt like not giving up. Now I really could avenge my (bro/sis), but I need to get out of here. I won't go back with my parents, though. I still hate humanity. I put the leaf in the box I found, in one of the sections from around, I still don't want to use the middle part. I should save that for something special.
"Oh my, I should have not left that child for that long. I will call her and see if everything is alright." A familiar voice said. I looked behind the tree and saw Toriel dialing on the phone. My phone started to ring and Toriel looked at me with surprised eyes. "(Y/N)! How did you get here? Are you okay?" she neared and hugged me. "My apologies... I have a surprise for you my child! Please follow me" I did as she said, there was a house behind a wall, and it looked cute. Looking at it, I felt another rush of determination...
