Sleepy Susan had never stayed up late,

But this year she wanted to celebrate—

The new year,

The loud cheer,

The dropping sphere.

It was getting near!

She'd be a late-night pioneer

On the midnight frontier!

But, in the morning, she will weep,

Sleepy Susan fell asleep.
