"I won!" said One to Two.

"I won too!" said Two to One.

Three asked One and Two, "What's that trophy for?"

"One won, and I won too," answered Two.

Along came Four to ask Three who won.

Said Three to Four, "One won!"

"Two won too," said One to Three and Four.

Then Five arrived.

"Give me five!" said Five to Two, "You won!"

"One won too," said Two to Five.

"One, you too won? Give me five too!" said Five to One.

Six, Seven, and Eight came to investigate.

Said Six to Seven and Eight,

"For once, One won a trophy, and Two won one too."

Asked Seven, "This is the first one won by One?

The only one One's won?"

Answered Six, "Yes, One has only won one. This one."

Asked Eight, "Is this the first one won by Two too?"

Answered Six, "Two won two once before against Four and Five."

Replied Seven,

"So that's why Five gave Two two fives and one five to One too."

Nine and Ten walked by in silence.

They didn't care about the trophy won by One

Or that Two won one too.

Or that Two had won before against Four and Five.

They didn't see that Five gave two fives to Two

Or that he gave one five to One who won too.

Then One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight

Went to the restaurant to celebrate.
