LITTLE LEAGUE

I thought my soccer league was for kids,

But they must have moved us on up,

Because with all the parents and coaches shouting,

This must be the World Cup.

I thought my baseball team was for fun,

But now I'm tossing that theory.

With all the yelling at the umpire,

This must be the World Series.

I thought my basketball league was for recreation,

But now I'm expecting a huge payoff,

With all the roaring from my dad—

This must be the NBA playoffs.

I thought this was little league football,

But I'm sad I missed that field goal,

The way my coach is hollering,

This must be the Superbowl.

I thought kid sports were meant for kids—

Or at least they should have been.

With the way the parents and coaches act,

I think kid sports were invented for them.
