LAWBREAKER

This morning, I awoke and decided

I was exhausted from being so good—

Making my bed, cleaning my room,

Doing everything else that I should.

Rather than being so nice and polite,

Instead of obeying my ma and pa,

I decided that it would be more fun

To break each and every law.

When I came to a sign that said "Stop"—

I didn't.

When a sign said "Walk"—

I ran.

At the library, I saw "Whisper Please!"—

I whispered as loudly as I can.

I ignored the sign "Don't Climb on the Tree."

"Only One per Customer"—I took three.

"You May Not Walk on the Grass" but I say that—

I May!

"No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service!"—

Went in barefoot anyway.

At the playground, I ignored a rule,

And I know it's all my fault.

I stayed and played all alone,

Without a responsible adult.

Now I've broken so many laws,

And the police are coming my way,

But I'll just break the law of gravity

And quickly float away.
