Chapter 7:: It's me...
Author's POV:
"Sir, I'm sure the information is true. Our spies spotted them in the forest. Maybe we're one step away from the plan." The worker said as the figure, sitting there while drinking a cup of fresh blood smirked.
"That King is a disgrace. While the entire nation mourned, how dare he stay normal and take the throne after his father's death? And now... he's chasing after that useless mortal?" The figure spoke in a dark, creepy tone as the workers were looking down.
"It's time. Get ready."
---On the other hand
"You..." You mumbled, staring in front of you with teary eyes.
"Do I know you..?" You asked, desperately. He smiled painfully and said, "You'll know better."
"Please... my dreams. That sudden deja vu... those feelings..." Your words came out unorganized, more than you thought as he smiled saying, "They're all... you and I."
He walked forward and patted your head saying, "Goodnight, my love."
---Next morning
"Y/N, you okay?!" Mina asked as you opened your eyes, groaning. You looked up just to see Mina and Yuri staring at you with big eyes, almost piercing holes in you. You looked at them weirdly before asking, "What's wrong with you all?"
"Umm... when did you even come back last night?" Mina asked as you frowned asking, "Huh? What are you..."
Suddenly, last night's events clicked in. Right, where were you?
Your eyes widened remembering all those moments with him... Kim Taehyung. Were you dreaming or was it real? No way it could be real, that's even more surreal.
"Y/N?" Yuri asked, shaking you slightly as you came out of your trance saying, "O-Oh.. I... I don't remember. Maybe I came b-back?"
"I guess... we were searching for you but we didn't find you. We were so scared. But then suddenly in the morning, we saw you sleeping here." Mina said.
You just looked down, wondering. They both stole glances at each other as you were in deep thought.
"Are you okay?" Mina asked as you said, "Oh... I... I'm just... a little hung up."
"Hung up? On what?" Yuri asked. You simply shook your head as they sighed.
"Alright, rest. We'll make some BBQ for today's lunch, no breakfast because it's already noon." Yuri said and left as you kept thinking about what had happened. It felt so surreal.
"I think I was dreaming... it's not possible." You mumbled.
---Time skip
You kept looking in the direction of the forest making Mina and Yuri utterly confused.
"Y/N?" Mina asked as you said, "Yeah?"
"Are you alright? You're acting too weird."
"Am I? Oh... I just had a weird dream."
"Oh... well, sometimes we do get such dreams, we feel like it happened. Gosh. I hate those." Yuri spoke mindlessly while eating as you nodded.
Right, everyone has those dreams. So did you.
But the pain in your chest every time you thought about the dream, how could you explain it?
---In the evening || At your apartment
You looked at the apartment door beside yours. Almost a minute passed by as you kept staring at it, fazed.
"Was it all... really a dream?"
--Time skip
Sitting on the bed, you wondered what to do. You felt occupied after that trip. Your mind really was occupied, with strange thoughts. All those words felt so real. You took the book, "A bloody tale" and started flipping the pages.
"I really... need to know." You mumbled, thinking about your situation, mindlessly flipping through the pages until you saw a poem.
'My lover's skin
is as pale as the moon
shining over a dead still pond.
My lover's eyes
glow like moonbeams filtering
through the cracks of an ancient door.
My lover only comes to me
Beneath the silver-knife light of the moon.'
Pale skin, glowing eyes... it was all about him. The guy you saw last night, maybe in your dreams or maybe in... reality.
Your fingers grazed the edge of the book as you stared at it, wonderstruck.
You flipped some more pages, reading about them. Blood, love, first love, the mark of the Queen... you read everything. Hours passed by as you kept reading them. You were confused yet fascinated. These must be tales... just tales. If these really existed in real, could you even bear it? Could you bear all those words, all those feelings... all that fear if it all was true?
You knew nothing yet everything. It was confusion inside of you. What was the aim of your existence? You often wondered. Was it just for something unexpected you had no idea about?
You didn't even realize when your eyes felt heavy as you were thinking and you fell asleep.
---In hades
"Your Highness... suspicious vampires are seen roaming around Seoul these days." An official spoke as Taehyung said, "I know."
"Your Highness, what if they're-" The minister was speaking but Taehyung paused him by showing his palm and continued, "Don't mention them. Whatever they are planning, I'll make sure they don't succeed. I'll protect her this time, I'll protect my promise."
"You have to take action. Just the forest can never be enough... if she doesn't come back, she'll have to meet a disastrous end... like a thousand years ago." The minister continued and gulped, looking down. Everyone in the room was quiet seeing Taehyung's unreadable expression.
Taehyung nodded and looked down muttering, "I'm sorry, love... but I can't give you any more time. The danger is near."
---Next day
No dreams... you sighed. Maybe it was just a surreal dream. You tried your best to shrug off the overthinking and waited for the elevator, glancing at the apartment door beside yours, just once.
You heard the noise of the door opening making a shiver run down your spine. You heard footsteps behind you as they stopped after a while. A figure was standing behind you, you could feel it, very well. You gulped, not turning around.
'It must've been a dream.' You thought and got in the elevator as the figure followed you. You stood there, looking down, not wanting to face him. Not after that weird dream.
"It wasn't." With the elevator door closing, the deep voice made a shiver run down your spine. You immediately looked at him, who was staring at the elevator door and then at you. He softly looked at you saying, "It wasn't a dream."
"W-What? What are you saying..?" You asked, completely shocked as he smiled, more like smirked and came closer to you, leaning towards your ear and said, "It wasn't a dream, my love."
You stood there, shocked as the elevator door opened. He looked into your eyes and smiled a little, very little, leaving the place.
"Ma'am?" A guy asked, coming in as you came out of your trance saying, "O-Oh... yeah.. I..." You walked out quickly, still fazed by what just happened.
---In your shop
"How can that be possible..? The dreams... him... neighbour? But... if that was us, why do not I know him at all?" You asked yourself, wondering what was wrong. You were so confused, you needed so many answers but got none.
"But... why does he know? Was it true?" You muttered, hating yourself for even having that thought but you couldn't deny it. Not after how he was obviously referring to that night.
You gulped and held your chest, trying to calm down. You knew for a fact something was missing, there definitely was something you didn't know. There was a missing piece of the puzzle which you needed to connect.
"2 roses." A man, looking at you, is more like judging you. You thinned your lips awkwardly before taking 2 fresh roses, handing them to him and saying, "80.5 cents, sir."
"What? They should cost a few cents only." He said as you awkwardly smiled saying, "Well, I did mention a few cents?"
"Scammers... I should report this shop!" He said as you sighed saying, "Sir, the price I've mentioned is reasonable. These roses are completely fresh and high qua-"
"Shut up. Do you think I don't know your petty business? Who's the owner?!" He grumbled as you sighed mumbling, "Karen." He frowned asking, "Did you just say something?"
You simply shook your head saying, "I am the owner. If you want to buy the roses, please do so. Or you can cancel as well."
"How dare you? What a disgraceful woman! Women like you disgrace the nation... selling flowers and then scamming?" The man spoke as you stared at him blankly. The words, for some reason, felt painful to you.
The words wouldn't matter to you, normally not. But this time, they were hurting.
"Speak?! Ask for a reasonable price or I can't help but report you!" The man complained but you stayed quiet, ignoring him. He opened his mouth to speak but a woman barged into the shop shouting, "HOW DARE YOU?! After fighting with me, you're in a flower shop arguing?!"
You looked at the woman and at the man. He was just lasing out on you due to the fight with his wife. Customers like these... were common. But, his words stuck deep. You blankly looked down as the woman apologized after beating the man a few times. She paid for the roses, took them and left, dragging the man out.
You sighed and looked down. You thought you were all alone in the room until a sudden voice spoke,
"Sad?"
