Chapter 4
"Do you know what we're here for?" Aphmau seemed nervous.
"I was hoping one of you two would know," Aaron looked at her. She shrugged her shoulders, knocking on the office door. Travis had started up a small conversation with Katelyn but it wasn't going that far due to her aggressive nature.
"Come in," The lady from the office said. Her voice was sweet, not harsh like most other teachers in this school. The office staff are the only few teachers to like Aphmau and Katelyn, and they liked them back. When the pair isn't in the library they try to come to the office as much as they can. As the group of four entered the office, the two girls noticed two boys already sat in there. A blonde and a brunette. The breathing of Aphmau and Katelyn deepened and they gulped in unison. "Aphmau, Katelyn!" The office lady, Miss. Wilson, smiled as the group of four walked into the room.
"H-hey," Aphmau waved and Katelyn nodded, taking acknowledgement of the woman. "Do you know why we're here?" Miss. Wilson drew her fingers along her lips as if zipping them shut.
"Not allowed to say, sorry girls."
"Hey!" Travis, Aaron, Laurance and Garroth yelled. "We're here too!"
"Oh," She laughed. "I know, I just prefer my girls." Aphmau and Katelyn lightly giggled, lightly smirking. Miss. Wilson then pointed, with a pale finger, towards the four chairs next to the ones that Laurance and Garroth were sat on, gesturing for them to sit down. All four of them sat down, yet all six of them were aware of the awkward silence. A quiet humming sound erupted from Aphmau's mouth. She had forgotten that it wasn't just Katelyn and her like usual, she wasn't used to being around people. "So lay your hands on the left behind," the humming had changed into light singing. "We all know how it feels to be forgotten for a while." Her voices cracked as they finished the note. Aphmau sighed and a round of applause erupted in the room. Her face deepened into a blush.
"I-I didn't-" She couldn't think of how to finish her sentence.
"Aph..." Katelyn's voice was soft but full of shock. "I didn't realise that you sang!"
"I-It's just something I do when I'm alone..." Her voice was timid and quiet. The four boys were staring at her in disbelief; Aphmau sings?! She sank down in her seat in embarrassment.
"D-don't stare..." The room went oddly silent for a while, all that was heard was the tapping of Miss. Wilson's computer keyboard. There was a knock on the door.
"Oh - here they are!" Miss. Wilson smiled as she left the office, coming round into the room with the six students. She opened up the door, that led outside of the school, and six adults walked in; four men and two women. They looked strange to the students, they had never seen the adults before.
"They're so cute!" One of the women giggled.
One of the men rolled his eyes and he said something in a commander-like voice. "Stand."
