Chapter 12
The ride back was tense, and Himiko was relived when they got back.
"Hey Rin, do you mind taking my shift?" She asked.
"Why?" Rin asked.
"Well... Thinks are kind of... Awkward between Kyoya and I..."
"What did he do when you two were alone?" Rin asked, suddenly becoming protective.
"Nothing! Nothing! I swear!" Himiko exclaimed, "He just... Confessed that he... Well... Liked me."
"Woah." Kimi butted in, "He has feelings?"
Himiko held in a laugh, "I know, I thought the same thing." She said, amused. "But... I had to reject him."
"What, why?" Kimi asked. "He's a handsome fellow that any girl would love to be with!"
"I think you're explaining yourself." Himiko said, rolling her eyes. "But... I rejected him because he fell in love with Sayuri. Not Himiko. When I was at Ouran... He never even gave me a second glance, and every time I talked to him he seemed... Annoyed." She shook her head sadly. "Besides, it wouldn't be worth it." She muttered.
Himiko felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked over and saw Rin, looking down at her with a sorrowful expression. "Alright, I'll take your shift today." He smiled, "But just because I want to spare you from the tension."
"Thank you." Himiko said, plopping down on her bed. She was about to take a nap when she heard a door crash open, glanced at each other, the trio nodded and flung out of their door and looked down the stairs to the front door, where the noise originated from.
Sighing Himiko looked at Rin and Kimi. "False alarm." She said, looking down at a group of idiot guys and one smart girl.
"What are you guys doing here?" Himiko asked, walking down the stairs.
"I've proclaimed a host club sleepover!" Tamaki exclaimed. "And since none of us wanted to do it at our places, we thought Kyoya's would do greatly!"
Himiko sighed. 'He's such an idiot' "I'm assuming you didn't ask Kyoya about this?"
"Of course not!" Tamaki exclaimed with equal excitement, the dopy grin still on his face.
Himiko sighed, stepping off the stairs and standing in front of the club, Kimi and Rin behind her.
"Hm, what are you two doing here?" Haruhi asked.
"I invited them over for a sleepover." Himiko said quickly, "Since I didn't know you guys had... This... Planned."
"What are you idiots doing here?" A new voice said, causing everyone to look up and see Kyoya standing at the top of the stairs.
"We're having a sleepover, Kyo-chan!" Honey exclaimed.
"No you are not." Kyoya said, "I would like to ask you all to leave."
"If you're asking us to leave-" Hikaru started.
"Why don't you ask these two to leave?" Kaoru finished, pointing at Rin and Kimi.
"They were invited." Kyoya said, adjusting his glasses. "I'm not chasing my cousin's friends away."
Himiko knew he was looking at her, but she made herself keep looking at the hosts. And when he said cousin, he almost sounded... Sad.
"But Kyo-chan, we brought food!" Honey exclaimed.
"Why do you always bring food when you intrude into someone's house?" He asked with a sigh. "Alright. You can stay, though only for a while."
The club walked in, and Himiko glanced at Rin and Kimi.
"Hey, Sayuri, why don't you join us?" Tamaki asked.
Himiko looked at Tamaki, her eyes meeting his, "Can my friends come?" She asked.
"Of course! The more the marrier!" Tamaki exclaimed.
Himiko glanced at the other two and then they followed the hosts into the dining room, where they sat around the table, Himiko siting between Rin and Kimi, with Rin right next to Kyoya.
Honey passed out the mini cakes he brought, Himiko receiving a chocolate one with rich lemon icing. It almost looked too good to eat. 'Just kidding, get in my mouth!' Himiko thought, taking a huge bite out of it. 'It's delicious!' Looking at both Kimi and Rin who were both enjoying the tiny cakes they had been given.
"It's wonderful!" Kimi exclaimed, "So rich and creamy!"
"I know!" Rin said, sparkles surrounding him.
"Have you two never had a cake like this?" Tamaki asked.
Rin and Kimi glanced at each other.
"W-well... We have..." Rin started.
"But not in quite a while." Kimi finished.
That seemed to convince the hosts, and Himiko was thankful that Kyoya was keen on making sure that she, Rin, and Kimi weren't recognized as his body guards.
"Alright. We've had cake and drinks. I would appreciate it if you all left, now." Kyoya said, placing us fork down on his empty plate. The who time he had been sitting silently, annoyance radiating off of him.
"Nonsense! This is the Host Club sleepover!" Tamaki exclaimed energetically. "Haruhi is going to show us how commoners do it!"
"I doubt it's that different..." Haruhi muttered.
After a while, everyone else finished their cake, and Haruhi explained what 'commoners' do during sleepovers. Movies, video games, board games, staying up all night, and other things.
The club agreed on playing a game called Aplogize! Where there are four players who each have different color pieces and the goal is to get into the middle.
Himiko, Rin, and Kimi just hung out in the same room, Kimi was messing around on her phone while Himiko and Rin were watching the game.
Five games and a movie later, all the hosts were yawning, all ready to get to sleep.
"Alright everyone! Time for bed!" Tamaki exclaimed. "To the guest rooms!"
"Normally, in a 'commoner' sleepover, everyone sleeps in the same room." Himiko stated, getting all the attention on her. "But, since there are both guys and girls, I think it would be safest if the girls were in one room while the guys were in the other." She tilted her head, her expression staying calm. "That means Haruhi will sleep in the same room as Kimi and I."
The hosts looked at her, and suddenly Hikaru, Kaoru, and Tamaki started to freak out.
"How'd you know my Haruhi was a girl?" Tamaki asked, an excessive amount of tears streaming from his eyes.
"It's not that hard to figure out." Himiko stated. In actuality, she remembered the time she almost drowned, and was told that Haruhi was a girl after she woke up. "The way she walks, talks, and her lack of Adam's apple obviously scream 'female'. Though I wouldn't worry about the other girls in school to figure it out. They're so oblivious they'd never figure it out."
"Wow." Hikaru started, looking at Himiko with wide eyes.
"You really are related to Kyoya-senpai, aren't you?" Kaoru finished.
"I am his cousin, after all." Himiko said, with a quick glance towards Kyoya. She stood up from the couch she was sitting on and smiled slightly. "Well, should we head off to bed?"
Kimi and Haruhi nodded and the three headed up to the room that Himiko, Rin, and Kimi were sharing.
"Alrighty. Let's get ready!" Kimi exclaimed, a wide smile on her face.
"Yeah. Sounds good." Haruhi said. "Wait, I just remembered something. The host club just shoved me in the limo after school, I was never able to pack anything..."
"Don't worry about that." Himiko said, "You can borrow one of ours."
Haruhi looked at them and smiled. "Thanks guys."
"No problem." Himiko said, smiling back.
After the three changed, they sat in a separate bed.
"Usually we use sleeping bags... But... I guess rich people think differently."
Himiko shrugged. "Well, you really think they would give up comfort? I doubt it." She responded.
They continued chatting, until they heard a crash from the other room. Kimi and Himiko looked at each other quickly. "Mr. Ootori!" They exclaimed together.
