With the Octarians and Inklings located, the humans were all that were left. While Axel perfected and mass produced the headset to combat sanitation, the Agents, Colt, Edge, and Shelly were on a mission of their own, and it was proving to be far outside the scale of their ability.

Because Axel was busy building, he gave the agents everything he could. Marie was equipped with his visor and the Sput Shot, Callie had the ARC, and Edge had the Reaper. Agent 3, 4, and Shelly and Colt had their normal gear, however. They were combating several of the giant machines, like the one Axel had destroyed. Edge was everyone's only hope, because of the Reapers special. Nothing else could damage the pilot, save for a Sting Ray or Killer Wail, which no one had.

It was not a winning fight. Edge was unable to use the Reaper as well as Axel, because he was lighter, and kept being propelled into walls.

Suddenly, a loud crack was heard. The one thing the machines were made to bet on, was that humans were long gone. But there were several, standing further behind the agents, seemingly also hunting their missing fellow humans. The lead human had a devastating shotgun, grenade launcher, and an axe. The one to his left had a long barreled rifle, which was drawn, as well as a pair of handguns. And the one to his right had a special cutting tool, and several weird pods on his belt, as well as a wrench and a form of taser, but larger.

"You looking for backup?" The lead human joked.

"Can't say we don't welcome it!" Colt yelled back. The front machine had locked up, the pilot had been shot through the window. Agent 3 superjumped at it, to knock it over to act as a barrier.

"Love the backup, but where did you spring from?" She asked.

Loud banging was heard.

"We were sent in a rescue mission. We heard the fighting, and hurried over. The other teams should be on their way." The lead human said.

"Should we wait or..." Callie asked.

"No point. Every second we waste the other humans are being condemmed to lord knows what." The lead human said.

"By the way, didn't catch your name?" Agent 4 piped up.

"Ah, my bad." The lead human replied. "I'm Jako, and these two are Brian and Rey." He said.

"Cool." Agent 3 said. "I'm 3, he's 4, they are Callie and Marie, and those clowns are Edge, Colt, and Shelly."

"I am hurt by that." Colt joked.

"Shame." Said agent 3.

"Let's go guys. C'mon." Marie said.

"Pardon me, miss Marie." Jako said. "But isn't that Axel's headgear?"

"It is." Marie said. "He's making a cure to some disease while we do this."

"Hmm." Said Brian. "Sure."

The banging stopped. The blockade was down.

Edge however, was ready. He used the special, and all the remaining pilots were splatted instantly.

"Axel made a monster out of this..." He thought to himself.

The agents, and their new companions continued.

After a short while, they found something... Unpleasant.

"That's an octostomp..." Marie said.

"Killed one before." Both agent 3 and 4 said.

This time was different however...

The octostomp growled, and put on some form of coat.

"He did that for me..." Agent 4 said. "Just kill that buckle and we got him."

Rey shot the buckle, and it snapped. Again, TarTar had not planned in humans.

The octostomp jumped, and landed. Everyone dodged it. And Callie hit it with the Arc from ground level.

"That's once..." Agent 3 said.

The octostomp got back up, and put on a new coat with 3 buckles.

"Hmm..." Said Agent 4. "I don't recall this..."

Rey shot off all 3 again.

"But we got the big guns here." Marie said.

Another easy splat.

But this time, the octostomp Agent 8 had to fight was not planning on fighting fair. And was straying from it's old patterns.

The octostomp dropped its legs, and a large part of it's body.

"That... Isn't normal..." Marie said.

Then it started flying up, and sprouted ink missiles.

"Ah carp..." Agent 4 said.

Marie shot at one missile with the Sput shot. It burst, but didn't do anything.

"So how do we kill it?" Jako asked.

Brian had a plan. He tossed his little canisters around the area they were fighting in. Turrets appeared.

"Oh..." Agent 3 said.

Marie sent out the Sput Shots special, adding another 2 turrets to the collection.

Then, Brian raised his giant taser.

He shot, and missed, but Marie knew what he was getting at.

"Let me try." She said, pointing to the headgear.

Brian tossed the taser over, and Marie raised it. She shot, and landed a perfect hit.

The flying Octostomp suddenly wasn't flying anymore.

"Easy." Marie said, returning the weapon.

"Not gonna lie, I'm not feeling so confident after that." Shelly said.

"Why not?" Colt asked. "It was fast."

"Yeah, but no one expected what it was doing." Shelly said.

"I guess.." Colt pondered.

"Well, the humans gotta be close." Edge said after a while.

"Indeed..." Jako said, darkly.

"Why so serious?" Callie asked, feeling a different mood from Jako.

"There." Jako said, pointing to something in the distance.

Everyone looked.

What they saw was not something they were expecting.

"Are those...." Marie asked.

"The humans?" Callie replied.

"They look sick, and tired." Rey said.

"I've never seen a sick human..." Callie said.

"That's a lie." Marie said. "Remember when the boys first got here? Half were feverish and we had to watch them."

"Oh yeah..." Callie replied.

"What are they doing?" Edge asked, actually still watching the scene.

Brian turned back down. "It looks like they are... Injecting them with something?"

"Oooh, that's nasty." Agent 3 said. "That's the gunk sanitized octarians.... Oh god..."

"You can't be serious!" Shelly said. "But what are you serious about?x

"Story time." Agent 3 said hurriedly. "Agent 8 fought a ton or sanitized octarians before. They are running on mind controlling corpse slime taken from various Oceanics. Tartar aimed to destroy the world and raise a superior race from the ashes with it. I think he is trying to sanitize humans."

"That's what Axel's trying to counter." Marie said.

"It looks like this TarTar guy is just killing them slowly and painfully." Brian said. "I say we shut them down, but how..."

"Like this." Marie said. She flipped on the visor, which she hasn't been using very much before, and drew the sput shot.

"Wow, he really.did make this cheaty." Marie thought, seeing every enemy and how they were moving, as well as where her shot would land. The location to shoot for each target was marked.

Marie sent 17 quick shots down, each splatting a target. The remaining few stopped, and Marie hit them all.

"Problem solved." She said. "Now how do we get down."

Brian lowered a rope.

"That works..." Agent 4 said.

Everyone slid down to the mess below.

Once down, they hurriedly started herding up the humans, and Marie looked for another way out.

She called Marina.

"Hey Marie!" Marina said.

"Hey Marina. I'm looking for a way out of this hole." Marie said.

"I don't know what hole you're in. Do you have your phone on you so I can connect to it?" Marina asked.

"Better." Marie said. "I have Axel's visor.

"That works." Marina said, hacking into it. "A lot of firewalls though... And I'm in." She looked at what Marie could see. "Ok, just go through that door to your left, there's a hallway leading back to familiar territory."

"Thanks." Said Marie. Then she turned to the group behind her. "Ok everyone, this way." And with that, the humans were going home. Most were in dire need of an examination, but no one could stop at the moment.
