A young red haired child stood before three ninja. A lone kunai grasped in her small hands as she held it up against the three men...or by what she could tell they were men..... they all wore blank masks after all.... emotionlessly slaughtering her village in front of her. These were no men, only monsters......

Kira a young girl from a certain clan known for their red hair among other things.... now being the only survivor (that she knows of) much like a certain raven haired child more recently... She wasn't meant for this... she never asked nor did she even dream of it in her worst nightmares and yet here it was happening before her.

Suddenly her heart dropped and she realized the depth of the situation, her small body could only take so much if she tried to fight or run... and yet she stared at the three Monsters  in front of her, her body lit up as strange seals all over her burned away..... they were meant to restrict her chakra so she would be like all the other girls in the village.... With tears in her eyes she growled and felt her body grow hot with the feeling of raw chakra pouring through her every muscle.

That was the last thing she remembered before falling unconscious or what her body said had happened..... when she woke she found herself on a path in the woods.... something within her pulled her towards the soft feeling of people in the distance... being the age of 8 she could only run so far and she had reached her limit long ago.... willing herself to get up, Kira set off once more in a slow paced stumble... soon finding a large pair of gates in front of her. Smiling she soon slowed to barely a walk and once she made it into the village collapsed... unable to continue.

The guards at the gate watched the girl wearily at first sense she had been covered in blood moments before collapsing. however once she did collapse they immediately took action and went to help the poor child, taking her directly to the hospital

A few days later Kira woke with a thirst that she didn't know she had looking around she saw a kind old man holding a glass of water for her to drink... a bit skeptical at first she took the glass and almost drank it in one gulp....

Hurizen was not stupid  as he looked at the unmistakably Uzumaki girl "Girl What is your name...How are you feeling?" He wasn't trying to be rude...

Kira looked at the man softly "K-Kira Uzumaki..." she whispered and shifted back a bit "I-I think i'm okay now..." she answered a little louder getting used to the older mans presence. finding it to be a warm feeling she relaxed... Her violet-red eyes looking over at the man softly inspecting him for any sort of hidden weapons.

Hurizen looked at the girl with tired but kind and caring eyes "you had given the gate guards quite a scare.... say Kira... what happened? why do you come here to the Leaf?"

Kira looked skeptical of him... "these men... they attacked my village and slaughtered everyone in it.... I-I don't know what happened after the restriction seals on me burned off....I kinda blacked out..." she shifted uncomfortable  from the memories..... luckily she hadn't seen her parents in the massacre so she wanted to look for them.

Hurizen sighed and looked at the scared girl "I know its painful but can you tell me what village they were from?..." he was starting to go into Hokage mode sense there was a plausibility of enemy ninja in the land of fire.

Oh how wrong he was.......

Kira curled up a bit and accidentally flared her chakra.... barely able to control it as it slowly settled... the seals on her helped her with the large amount and they were gone now "they wore blank masks sir.....a-and so much blood....." she trailed off and started to cry... she was no ninja yet just a little girl fearing for her life...

Her eyes held so much pain and worry... that much Hurizen could see and he knew that she needed help.... the blank masks sounded oddly familiar.... he may have to visit his old teammate about this... Getting up he walked over to the door " once you get out i suggest looking around the village for a bit, and then in a couple of hours come to the large building in the center of the village." He instructed.

Kira nodded softly and slowly sunk back into her bed "c-can you look for my mom and dad?..." she asked and looked at him sadly.

He nodded and gave the girl a small sad smile as he walked out leaving Kira by herself.

After about a hour a Ninja team ran to the destroyed village to check it out and Kira was released from the hospital.

Kira walked out of the hospital and down the road... some villagers looked at her strangely and some even in slight fear for some odd reason.... after a while she saw a young yellow haired boy who was crying as he ran past.Surprised  Kira turned and ran after him... wanting to help the boy that she knew nothing about....

After a while of running after him he stopped at a apartment that was incredibly run down , walking up the stairs to said building she lightly knocked on the door the boy had went through.

Naruto who had just tried to buy some food from a store was denied... Ran away and now back at his apartment only to hear a knock seconds after he got back.... slowly going to the door and opening it only to see the most pretty red-haired girl he has ever seen... even more pretty than sakura.

Kira blushed slightly "hey are you okay?..." she asked as she looked at the boy 'He's cute' She thought.

Naruto looked at the girl like she was crazy "d-did you just ask if I was okay?" he blushed slightly..."i-im okay now" he said wiping the tears away.

Kira then reached out and pulled him into a hug... his uzumaki chakra resonated with her sensor ability "y-your a uzumaki like me" she whispered and pulled him close.... he was warm... it felt nice.

Naruto was very very surprised about the strange girl suddenly knowing that he was a uzumaki and even more confused about why she was hugging him but returned it happily. "w-whats your name...?"

Kira wasnt surprised he wanted to know her name after all she just barged in and hugged the boy "I-It's Kira, Kira Uzumaki" she said after pulling away and looking at the boy "Whats yours?"she asked soon after.

"n-naruto... Uzumaki..." He was so excited to see that he had a clan! Kira was soo pretty.... Naruto blushed and found himself staring "s-sorry" he whispered and looked away.

Kira looked around the place a bit "can I come in?" she asked and looked at the boy in front of her... finding a soothing smell of ramen that seemed to be emitted from him.... it calmed her down a bit sense she was still stressed from the attack on her village.

Naruto smiled and let her come in a little embarrassed blush "sorry about the mess..."he rubbed the back of his head and lead her to a couch which had a few empty ramen cups around it.

Kira sat on the couch and looked around a bit "I'm just wondering... but how do you live like this?"

Naruto sighed a little, worried that Kira may not like him like he had thought "The villagers over price me when I go shopping....ramen is the only thing I can afford...not that I'm complaining..."

Kira looked at him a little skeptical "I was meaning the mess.... I can help you with it if you want?" She held up a empty ramen cup and tossed it into the trash can across the room.

Naruto's eyes widened and he blushed a bit 'she's so cool...' he thought to himself "oh...uh yeah! We can clean it up! Believe it!"

Kira giggles at his reaction and got up, going to work with Naruto's help.

After about 2 hours of cleaning and washing dishes, Naruto's apartment was sparkling clean and looked like someone actually took care of it...Kira had done most of the scrubbing and washing of the furniture and kitchen. Naruto had cleaned the trash and got his clothes together.... thinking that the faster that he got done the faster him and Kira could get to know each other....

A knock on the door resounded through the apartment... Kira being the closest opened it... Kira's eyes widened as she saw lord third in front of her.

Hurizen was going to tell Naruto that he had family "Kira? Well I guess me coming here has gone to waste... " his eyes widened as he looked at the place.... "did you do this?" He asked as he inspected the kitchen.

Kira pauses and looks at Hurizen "Me and Naruto did it together, He did most of the picking up though."

Naruto who was in his room peeked out to see Kira talking to lord third quickly running over and giving the man a hug "Ji-Ji!" He said and smiled as he pulled away.

Hurizen hugged Naruto and smiled at the boy "So are you two ready for the academy?" He asked and looked at the two.

Kira seemed confused "academy?" She asked.

Naruto who was basically jumping in place "Yeah! I'm ready for the academy Believe it!"

Huizen chuckled and looked at Kira "it's for ninja training... I think you should join it with Naruto here."

Kira seemed happy about this "it doesn't sound bad...I think I will..."Kira wasn't certain but was quite attached to Naruto already... but she already had the basics of chakra down and was able to apply it.

Hurizen smiled at the girl, handing her a envelope with a months pay and keys for a apartment just under Narutos. "Here is some money and a key, the key will unlock the apartment under Naruto's"

Kira smiled and took it "thank you so much!" She said and relaxed a bit in his presence.

Naruto grinned "so me and Kira will be neighbors?" He asked with a bright smile. Then turned to Kira "that's great! Ooo maybe we can combine our apartments... you know with a staircase."

Kira was actually thinking about doing just that " that doesn't sound half bad." She admitted,  quickly running out to check if her key fit... it did and she turned the lock, opening the door to a furnished apartment , Awed Kira quickly looked around and smiled as she had everything Naruto did.

Hurizen was waiting outside of Kiras new apartment with Naruto who was exceptionally curious.

Kira came back about a minute later a grin on her face, hugging Hurizen softly "thank you..." she whispered and looked up at him...

Naruto smiled and quickly poked inside of Kira's apartment looking at everything that was the same... saddened he walked back out like a wet puppy "it's the same..." he whispered.

Hurizen was for once, happy... it made him feel so much pride seeing those two knuckleheads get along... taking his leave and saying his goodbyes... reminding them that the academy started tomorrow.

Kira was certain she would sleep well so she wished Naruto a good night and went to her bed, setting her clock and alarm as she took a shower... putting her clothes in the wash so they would be ready when she got up in the morning, drying off with a towel she retired for the night.

Naruto had much the same routine, however he just took off his jacket and got into his pajamas, pulling his sleeping cap on as he flopped onto his bed passed out.
