the despair of tomorrow. XV
The morning sun beamed at the hospital walls,
staining it with bright lights.
The curtains were tied upwards,
leaving the room fully exposed to the sunlight.
A beam struck her eyes,
waking her up without the need of an alarm clock.
There was that familiar scent of sanitizers,
and the stench of metal equipment that she hated.
Her mother slept beside her bed,
and looked as though she stayed up all night.
Hana sighed as she realized that the daily cycle would
once again commence.
For once,
she gathered the strength to sit upright.
Due to her deteriorating body,
she had to struggle for a bit before being able to do so.
She was shivering.
It would be the first time that she would look outside
after the incident.
Nevertheless, she inhaled sharply
and prepared herself.
She saw it again.
Nature.
