It was a beautiful morning where birds were chirping their melodies while sun was shining brightly, cool breeze was reducing the intensity of heat while the daily hustle bustle of the city was at it's peak. No doubt, why we are blessed with a long night, when our duties that we need to carry out during day-time goes overboard, we need some peace in the form of sleep.

Neil's eyes shot open when he felt sunrays peeping through the windows. He got up and rubbed his eyes for adjusting with instant rays of brightness. He wondered how he fell asleep while remembering the events that took place in their lives few days back. The events were very unexpected yet pleasant in their own ways. He still remembers how he was doubtful regarding Ananya and was trying to get proof against her for removing the mask of fakeness from her face but he ends up getting intimate with her and then her pregnancy, Mehta's truth everything was unplanned and somewhere he got to know that destiny do plays other worldly games with us. The whole scenario of their wedding was playing in his mind, still one question was bothering him, Is Ananya hiding something ? Ever since they both have collided with each other, she acts like a mystery who never opens up very easily. This thing was bothering him and he was hoping that he is wrong.

As soon as his gaze shifted towards  Avni who was sleeping beside him with a cute pout glorifying her face, his thought process came to halt. No matter whatever his brain was  encrypting, he was happy with her. They both were going to start a new life and their baby became the reason of their union. He don't want anything else. He have his world with him.

So, he decided to ignore his overflowing thoughts and live the moment with her.

He tucked a hair strand lingering on her face behind her ear that was blocking his view and planted a soft kiss on her forehead. He leaned down and placed another soft kiss on her belly. She was sleeping peacefully so he didn't woke her up and went towards washroom for getting ready.

He came back and found that Avni was still sleeping. He smiled at her and closed the windows so that she can sleep properly. He went down and saw that family members were sitting on the dinning table bickering about something or the other.

Neil - Good morning everyone. ( smiling )

Family members - Good morning.

Prakash - Where is Ananya ?

Neil - She is sleeping, I didn't woke her up as yesterday was quite hectic for all of us.

Shweta - You did right. Have your breakfast then only you can leave for work.

Neil - As you wish mom. ( smiles )

After having breakfast, he got up and was about to go but stopped and turned towards Shweta.

Neil - Make sure she eats mom and if she refuses to listen to you then don't hesitate to call me.

Shweta - Don't worry tillu, we are there with her. No need to worry.

Neil nods and left from there.

Prakash - Ever since Juhi's death, it's for the first time Neil is enjoying his life. Ananya and his baby have brighten up his life. ( smiles )

Bebe - Yes and I hope they get all the happiness they deserve. ( smiles ).

Avneil's room

Avni woke up from her deep slumber due to constant ringing of her mobile phone. She opened her eyes and analysed her surroundings, she nearly freaked out after finding herself sleeping in some other room but soon her mind played the flashes of her wedding with Neil and she smiled a bit after remembering how he was trying to make her comfortable last night. She sighed and grabbed her mobile from the nightstand that was her current enemy as it disturbed her peaceful sleep. She saw the caller I'd and her lips automatically curved into a wide smile.

Avni - ( at call ) Good morning Maa.

Neela - Good morning bacha, how are you ?

Avni - Fine and you ?

Neela - I am also good, what are you doing ?

Avni - Just woke up from my peaceful sleep. ( yawning )

Neela - Avni its 10 am and you are still sleeping.

Avni - What ? ( shocked ). I slept for such a long time, why Neil didn't woke me up before leaving for his work ?

Neela - Well, my son-in-law is very caring for his wifey so how can he disturb her beauty sleep. ( teasingly )

Avni - And here we go with another episode of brand new series,"Perfect son-in-law", directed by Ms. Neela Parikh starring ACP Neil Khanna, the definition of perfection. ( sarcastically ).

Neela chuckles at her daughter's antics.

Neela - Pagal. ( mad ) ( while laughing ).

Avni - Like seriously maa, these days you aren't concerned about your daughter. It seems as if Neil is ruling your mind. ( pouts ).

Neela - Oh really !!

Avni - Yes.

Neela - Well, Neil deserves appreciation from me so he's getting it, what's your problem Mrs. Neil Khanna ?

Avni - Maa, I will cry now. ( pouts )

Neela - Mood swings. ( muttered under her breath )

Avni - What ? ( frowns )

Neela - Nothing much, I am very happy cos you are blessed with a perfect soulmate and my biggest wish is completed now. I always wanted a life for you which doesn't resemble with your both the mother's life and see finally my prayers have been answered. ( smiles ).

Avni - Maa, everything is perfect still I am not happy. You know why ?

Neela - What happened bacha ?

Avni - I have betrayed them by hiding my identity. ( sadness reflected from her voice.)

Neela - Do you want to reveal everything to Neil ? Do you want to let him in ? Do you want him to meet the broken Avni Ayesha buried inside fierce Ananya Verma ? Only you can answer all these questions and you have to make a decision about the same at some point of your life.

Avni - I know but I am not sure about it. You know very well that it's difficult for me to trust anyone.

Neela - I know, take your time bacha but always remember one thing, Neil deserves to know Avni Ayesha. Okay ?

Avni - Yes maa.

Neela - I wanted to inform you that I am going out of town for some days as I am having some business meetings lined up.

Avni - Maa, we need to discuss about .... ( Neela cuts her off )

Neela - I know, we have to discuss about Aman and Mehta family, don't worry we will make Mehta's lives a living hell and soon your brother will get to know everything about his grandmother who have snatched his  everything.

Avni - We will maa.

Neela - Till then spend some time with Neil and his family especially Neil.

Avni - Yes maa, bye. Love you. ( happily ).

Neela - Love you too bacha. Take care of yourself and my grandchild. ( smiles )

Call ends

Avni sighed and got up from the bed. She went to washroom and came out after sometime dressed up in pink coloured saree and black off-shoulder blouse. She sat infront of dressing table and was about to comb her hairs but stopped after seeing a small box and letter lying there. She opened the letter and started reading it,

Dear Ananya,

You were sleeping peacefully so I didn't disturbed you as yesterday was quite hectic. I wanted to take a day off for helping you out with the sudden changes in your lifestyle but I am working on an important case and today I am going to arrest that criminal so it's not possible for me, sorry for that. So, please take care of yourself and our child. Don't ignore your breakfast and I have kept all your medicines in the box along with doctor's prescription, follow the instructions properly and if you want anything then you can ask mom or other family members and in case you feel hesitant then my phone number is always available for you.

Neil.

Avni smiled after reading his letter. Actually, she felt each and every emotion that he wanted to convey her through these lines. Few words are enough for explaining his care, his strictness towards her health, his kindness and some other emotion that can be termed as, 'Love' by others but is unknown to them. She smiled and placed the letter into the drawer.

She got ready and moved out of the room. She was nervous as well as embarrassed. She was wondering if she have created a bad impression of herself by waking up late. She knew very well that they are very open-minded people and will not taunt her about the same but she was scared as everything was new to her and on top of that Neil wasn't beside her at this moment. She was missing him badly but she won't accept the fact, he gives her courage to face everything and his absence creates a void in Avni's heart. Needless to say that she knows everything still acts clueless for pampering her overflowing thoughts and brain.

As soon as she entered living room, she found Shweta and bebe sitting there gossiping about something or the other.

Shweta - Ananya, ( smiles ) why are you standing there ? Come here.

Avni smiles a bit and sat beside her.

Avni - Sorry mom, actually I... ( Shweta cuts her off )

Shweta - Why are you saying sorry Ananya ? It's happens so don't take much tension.

Bebe - Exactly, I don't know about your mother-in-law but I am very cool you know. ( raising her imaginary collar.)

Shweta - Bebe you are saying as if I am an old woman. ( pouts )

Bebe - In the era of anti-aging creams no one can determine your real age madam Madonna.

Avni suppress her laugh.

Shweta - Exactly bebe, in the era of hair dye no one can recognise your white hairs. ( fake smile )

Bebe - Oh !! please madam Madonna, I am much younger than you.

Shweta - How is it possible ?

Bebe - I am younger by heart.

Shweta - Leave it bebe or else our argument will go on for the entire day and I don't want to starve my daughter. What do you want to eat Ananya ?

Avni - Anything. ( smiles )

Shweta - Shall I cook your favourite poha for you ?

Avni - No poha. ( pouts )

Bebe - But Neela told us earlier that poha is your favourite. ( shocked )

Avni - Yeah !! But now I don't want to eat it. I want aloo ke paranthe. ( licking her lips )

Shweta - I think baby have acquired Neil's taste. ( chuckles ) He also loves aloo ke paranthe. I will cook it for you.

She left from there.

Bebe - So, Ananya tell me something about yourself.

Avni - There is nothing much to know about me. ( smiles )

Avni - ( in mind ) But you deserve to know about Avni and I am scared about your reaction.

Bebe - Tell me about your crushes.  ( smirks )

Avni - I don't have any. ( nervously )

Bebe - Hein !! ( shocked )

Avni - Yes bebe, I never had crush on someone neither I had any boyfriend. ( smiles )

Bebe - It's very difficult to believe. You know when I was studying in school, I was having  crush on Neil's grandfather and when we both met in college, I got to know that feelings were mutual. ( smiles )

Avni - That means you both had a love marriage ?

Bebe - Blend of love and arrange. We used to love each other but my family was very strict so his family brought his relation in the pretence of arrange marriage.

Avni - That's so sweet bebe. ( smiles )

Bebe - You believe in love ?

Avni nods negatively.

Bebe - Give yourself a chance and you will feel it. I assure you that Neil won't disappoint you in any way. ( smiles )

Avni nods.

Shweta - Ananya your breakfast is ready. Come fast.

Avni went to dinning table and sat there, Shweta served her food and sat beside her.

Shweta - Are you missing your mother ?

Avni nods.

Shweta - It happens with every girl. Don't worry, I am always there for you. In fact, all of us are there for you. I know, everything happened so early but I know that everything will become normal. ( smiles )

Avni - I hope so. ( smiles )

She eats while Shweta makes her feel comfortable and entertain her with her gossips.

After breakfast, bebe and Shweta forced her to take some rest. Though, she protested by telling them that she will help them in household work but she wasn't able to win against two stubborn ladies.

She sat on  her bed and led herself drown into the whirlpool of thoughts. Bebe's words were ringing in her mind.

Avni - I know Neil will never disappoint me but how I will give him the love he deserve. Since childhood, I am watching broken relationships. How can I give it a chance ? It's not easy for me. ( sighs )

A chance is what I want to prove myself Ananya.

She looked towards the door after hearing Neil's voice and found him leaning against the door with his arms folded against his chest. His gaze was fixed upon her and his lips were curved up into a wide smile. She got up from the bed and watch him coming closer to her. He stood infront of her and she got lost in his eyes as usual.

Neil - Why are you so scared Ananya ?

Avni - I can't bare more pain Neil. ( broken voice )

Neil - Don't you trust me ?

Avni - I trust you but I don't trust myself.

Neil - A chance is a step that will change your vision about your fear.

Avni - Fears never leave us, they keep on haunting us.

Neil takes her hand and place it on left side of his chest making her feel his rapid heartbeats.

Neil - This is our connection, never forget that. ( whispers )

Avni - Still it's difficult to trust in something that have always become the reason of your pain.

Neil - Just hold on. Every hurdle will push us over the edge but we need to hold on for retracing the right path, every pain, every sorrow will heal itself but we need to hold on.

Avni - You don't know my broken self.

Neil - Then connect your broken self with me, I will mend those tender pieces and we will become one.

Avni - It's not easy.

Neil - Before saying this you need to try me.

Avni - Everything is complicated.

Neil - Then make it easy.

Avni - How ?

Neil - Only your inner self can answer your question but always remember one thing, I am always there for you.

Saying this, he kisses her forehead and Avni closed her eyes feeling the ecstatic touch of his lips.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she didn't found Neil anywhere.

Avni - Neil ... ( while looking here and there )

She sighed and sat on bed.

Avni - Even his snippet is making me understand the same thing that is ringing in my heart but my mind isn't ready to forget all those awful memories that are responsible for the birth of Ananya Verma.

Few hours passed by and Avni indulged herself into reading a novel for avoiding the stressful thoughts. Shweta came inside Avni's room and saw her reading the book.

Shweta - Ananya. ( smile )

Avni - Yes mom.

Shweta - Why don't you go to police station and have lunch with Neil. See, I have packed lunch for you two. ( while showing lunchbox to her )

Avni - Mom, Neil will be busy.

Shweta - He is free during lunchtime Ananya, I have asked DD about this. ( winking at her )

Avni - But...

Shweta - Please. ( puppy face )

Avni - Okay.

Shweta - And yeah take driver with you.

Avni - Driver ? ( confused )

Shweta - Yeah !! Neil have arranged a driver for you.

Avni sighs while Shweta chuckles.

Shweta - He is just like Prakash ji. Over caring and over protective.

Avni smiles and left the house after taking lunchbox from Shweta.

Bebe comes to Shweta after Avni left.

Bebe - You are doing all this for bringing them closer. Don't you ?

Shweta - Yes bebe, I want them to accept each other whole-heartedly. They won't tell us still I can analyse that there is some awkwardness and hesitations between them. I want their happiness that's it.

Bebe - I am thinking to send them on a trip for somedays so that they can spend plenty of time with each other.

Shweta - As if your grandson will happily oblige your wordings. You know right, he's very protective towards Ananya and his baby so he won't go anywhere.

Bebe - I will convince him. Moreover, they can go for a short trip to  Lonavala and we are having farmhouse there so they can stay there. I just want to give them privacy for somedays so that they can know each other. Neil will be there with Ananya so we need not to worry about her health.

Shweta - You are right.

Police station

Avni reaches police station and enters inside after collecting the lunch box. She found DD instructing an officer about some case. As soon as he saw Avni, he went towards her.

Avni - Neil..

DD - You sit inside Neil sir's cabin, he is in meeting room with commissioner sir. The meeting will get over very soon.

Avni nods and DD walked her inside the cabin.

DD - Do you want anything bhabhi.

Avni - No DD. ( smiles )

DD - I am one call away. In case, you want anything you can tell me.

Avni nods smilingly and DD left the cabin.

It's been 20 minutes and Neil haven't returned from his meeting. Avni sighed and pouts while looking at lunchbox.

Avni - I am so much hungry and this aroma is testing my patience. Neil where are you ? Come soon na... ( puppy face )

She waited for more 10 minutes and then opened the lunchbox.

Avni - I will eat only a little amount of food and then I will wait for Neil. Pinky promise to my own self.

She put some rice and rajma in her plate and devour it's taste after engulfing the first morsel.

Avni - Shweta mom have magic in her hands. Yummy !!

She kept on eating and when she was about to put the last bite in her mouth, she heard someone's coughing and turned her head towards the direction only to find Neil leaning against the door with his arms folded against his chest and a goofy smile adoring his face.

He came towards her and ....... ( it's not a dangerous cliffhanger 🤔 )
