You beat him to the cove, however, and became visible, again. You sat elegantly and waited patiently. A few loud pawsteps announced.. he was here. You giggled as he made a very- handsome approach, then skidded down the side, tumbling and rolling down the dune. 

 "Y|N, I know we just met, but.. I have a confession to make." Toothless rumbled. "Yes?" You asked, curious. "I would.. like to keep the Night Fury legacy alive, and you seem to be- the only compatible dragon." "Go on.." You urged him, knowing what he was about to say. "Y|N, would you like.... to.. be my mate?" Toothless asked, looking nervous, and shuffling his paws.

 "Impress me." Toothless glanced up to the top of the dune, then began to flap his wings around. He started scuffing dust up while spinning, and you stepped back in shock. What is he doing?! You thought, sticking up your wings to protect yourself, before sneezing. "Sorry!" He apologized. You had gotten sand stuck up your nose. Then, to your surprise, he got onto his hind legs, and began walking around like a chicken! You had never seen such absurdity in your life!

 "What are you doing??" You asked, a tone of disbelief edging your voice. Toothless stopped, looked at you, and dropped back down. He began to prance around, covered himself with his wings, and stuck his head up. "I'm dancing!" Toothless exclaimed happily. He began to prance around like a newborn yak, and his pupils turned to slits as he spread his wings up, stuck his tail over his head, and started jumping around.

 You finally had enough of it, and when he got close enough, you batted him hard on the nose SEVERAL times, and he backed off. You glided over to the nearby tree, and wrapped your tail over the branch, to look like a bat. After you had closed your wings around you, the branch began creaking and shaking. 

 You opened your eyes to see TOOTHLESS shaking it! "What are you doing?! Trying to kill us both?!" You flailed, and then the branch broke. Down went Toothless! "Are you okay?" He asked. "Go. Away." you muttered, upset now. "Join me!" Toothless pleaded. "I want to show you something." 

 You opened your wings a little, and look what he was doing now. Dragging a stick pointlessly across the sand. You jumped down, ready to ask him for the 4th time, what he was doing, when he seemed finished. He was scuffing up sand now, and then drew again. You looked at the lines he had made, then looked at him. "Oh, wow.."

 Toothless looked at you closely, then bounded away again. He completed a final line, then looked at you, finally completed. You realized what it was- you! "You did this?!" You exclaimed. "Yep!" Toothless grinned happily. You took a step, not noticing it was on the line, and he growled. You growled at him, and he dropped the stick, lolling his tongue out, like a happy wolf. 

 You looked up in astonishment, and began picking your way around the drawing. "Guess what?" You murmured. "You passed the test." You got extremely close to Toothless' nose, and gazed into his deep green eyes. "I.. like you." You padded past him toward the pond, and took off. 

 Gliding around in a circle, Toothless cried out. "Wait! Y|N! I.. I can't fly!" "Why not?" You questioned him. "My tail fin got cut off a while back.." You looked up, and saw a human peek up. "I'm sorry, but I have to leave." You partially lied. You turned around and flew away. 

 "Y|N! Don't leave me!" You heard a splash of water, but you didn't look back. A human was there, and nothing made you care less than them. "Sorry!" You roared back at him. You then disappeared into the horizon.
